Submitting to My Best Friend's Dad-Chapter 871 : Traitors get what they deserve
*Leo*
I awoke to the smell of alcohol still lingering on both our skin from last night’s drinks. My head was still fuzzy like I was seeing through a thin layer of water like a fish tank and I had the mother of all headaches banging on my temple.
I groaned, shoving my weary head into the crevice of her neck, wondering how she could still smell so delicious. Wrapped in my arms from last night, Bianca was still fast asleep, breathing softly as I opened up my eyes groggily, yawning softly.
I smiled as I propped up my head, admiring how utterly adorable she was asleep. Unfortunately though, she’d been laying on my arm all night and I was going to need that back to go to work. After I got the circulation back, because right now, I couldn’t feel it at all.
I chuckled, gently lifting up her head so I could pull my arm out from under her. I was surprised how she stayed asleep with how much I was maneuvering her but also thankful as I didn’t want to wake her.
Once my arm was free, I gently pulled her close to me, savoring this small moment before I knew I would have to leave and make up some lie about where I was going.
Again.
I kissed her lightly on the neck, savoring the taste of her skin and imprinting her scent in memory before I slowly backed away, tucking the blankets in where I was so she wouldn’t be cold.
Once she was all tucked in, all snug and cozy, I sat gently on the side of the bed, using my hand to brush her hair from her face as I laid a kiss on her lips like the sleeping princess in a fairytale. Sure enough, her eyes fluttered open as she returned my kiss lazily. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
“What’s that for?” She hummed, her voice a bit hoarse as she glanced up at me with a smile. “Special occasion?”
“Not quite,” I chuckled, “I wanted to know if you wanted anything from that coffee shop a few stores down. I’m sending someone out for orders.”
“Mm,” Her nose wrinkled as she slowly woke up, and I knew she was thinking deeply by the crease between her eyebrows, something I doubted she even noticed about herself. But I did.
I couldn’t help but lean down to kiss it, smoothing it away.
“Don’t distract me,” She pushed me playfully, grinning tiredly as she slowly sat up while holding onto the blankets to cover her nudity. She yawned, rubbing the corner of her eyes of the crust. “I could do with a coffee.”
“One black coffee coming right up,” I grinned teasingly, heading to my phone like I was about to text them that exact order.
“Nooo!” Bianca whined, giving me a pouty glare. “My order’s a bit complicated so I’d rather just go get it myself.”
“I’m sure it’s not that bad,” I huffed, shaking my head.
A teasing glint appeared in her eyes and she crossed her arms with a small smirk. “Oh, really? Well, if you’re such an expert, I’d like a medium grande with vanilla sweet cream, half and half but with almond milk subbed to whole milk, 1 part Frappuccino, 1 part Cappuccino and 1 part macchiato with 3 pumps dark caramel, a scoop of dark roasted crushed peanuts and chocolate drizzle between each layer of whipped cream - 3 total and half-ice.”
I stared at her like she had spoken an alien language and she might as well have because my teeth had started to faux-ache as soon as she said to add half and half to the vanilla sweet cream.
“What the fuck?” I blurted utterly baffled.
“That’s why I said to let me handle it myself. It’s fine, just have the guy bring me along and we’ll pick up everything. It’ll be quick,” She said, sounding more convincing by the minute because I wasn’t even sure I remembered half of what she said.
But there was one little problem with that plan.
“You want to go like that?” I asked blandly, glancing pointedly at the blanket she’d let go of which now was giving me quite a good view of her perky breasts. And damn, were they a feast for the eyes this morning.
She followed my gaze and rolled her eyes.
“Obviously not. Let me just get dressed first and I’ll take a shower when I get back.”
And I watched shamelessly as she rolled out of bed, walking naked across my room, her little ass and breasts bouncing for my enjoyment. I smirked, enjoying the show as she gathered some clothes and went straight into the bathroom to change.
Right before she shut the door, she sent me a pouty look, meeting my eyes directly.
“Pervert.”
I laughed as she shut the door, pausing only to call out, “You look beautiful!”
The thought of fresh morning coffee made Bianca go twice as fast as usual because she was in and out before I even had time to gather my clothes for a shower. She kissed me on the lips, heading downstairs where the driver was waiting to take her to get our orders.
I handed her my credit card, making sure she knew there was no limit. She gave me a dubious look but accepted without question. She had probably already flagged the unusual amounts of money I was spending but I was grateful she was still with me.
Once she was gone, I headed for the shower. This was the part of the day I usually dreaded, but that was before Bianca. The hot water helped to relax me and I dressed with meticulous care, as befitting my position.
I donned a crisp white dress shirt, carefully buttoning it to the collar. Over that went a finely tailored charcoal suit, the pinstripes barely visible but adding an air of authority. I adjusted my silk tie, deep crimson in color, securing it with a understated gold tie clip.
Cufflinks were next - today I chose a pair of vintage onyx set in sterling silver, a family heirloom. I slipped on polished black leather oxfords, their shine immaculate. The final touch was a fedora, tilted at just the right angle. I checked my reflection, ensuring every detail was perfect. My appearance was impeccable, projecting power and demanding respect.
Once I was dressed, I grabbed my phone which I checked over to see an unread text from Franky.
‘Meet me ASAP’ was all it said. Blunt and straight to the message just like Franky usually was. There was a 50/50 chance it was either good or bad news when Franky was vague like that but either way, it meant it would be a long day.
I sighed, disappointedly, stuffing my phone into my pocket. I had been hoping to at least have breakfast with Bianca but I guess that wouldn’t be happening. I decided to head down already, grabbing a simple apple from the kitchen for breakfast right as Bianca walked through the door carrying a drink tray and a small bag.
“Hey!” She brightened as she saw me and I returned it, a bit forlorn as I knew I had to disappoint her. She set everything down on the table, handing over my simple small black coffee with just one sugar and one cream inside.
I finally felt alive and awake once I caught the scent of the freshly brewed beans, taking a sip of the piping hot liquid.
Bianca’s order had my jaw dropping as she pulled out the massive swirled light caramel-colored drink. It looked like it had at least a pound of whipped cream on top, all layered with caramel, nuts, and chocolate drizzles and my eyes went even wider as I saw the price tag attached to it.
“You spent fifteen dollars for that monstrosity?” I blurted in shock.
“It’s a dark caramel frapp-capp-chiatio. It’s coffee and delicious,” She grinned, taking a sip of the heart attack in a cup and sighing in bliss like it wasn’t just ninety percent sugar.
“Yeah, nope, you can call that whatever you want but that is not coffee,” I snorted, shaking my head at the ridiculousness of it all. She rolled her eyes but didn’t deny it. She did, however, look me over and see the keys I had in my hand.
“You’ve got to leave?” She asked, the disappointment in her eyes feeling like a dagger to the heart. I nodded softly.
“Sorry, I forgot I had a meeting with one of my staff members,” The lie slipped out so easily, so naturally and I hated it. Even more so as she nodded, giving me an understanding smile, believing me so easily.
She gave me one last kiss and I recoiled from the amount of sugar I tasted on her lips, grimacing as she burst into laughter at my reaction. I fled out the door to save myself from the unholy creation she’d made, taking a long sip of my black coffee to wash the taste away.
I liked sweet things but that was just like eating straight spoonfuls of sugar.
Gross.
By the time I arrived at the warehouse, Franky had already texted me twice more to get my ass down there and the effect of the coffee was wearing off.
“This better be good,” I snapped as soon as I entered Franky’s little den up here in the surveillance room.
Franky spun in his chair, giving me a cold look. “Finally.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don’t get your nuts in a twist,” I scoffed, taking a seat next to him. “What’s the big issue?”
“Manuel is,” Franky sneered, turning to show the laptop so I could see. “We caught him seven hours ago making plans to sell off some very sensitive information. The tap-wire caught it all.”
Franky hit the spacebar, letting the audio we captured play. It wasn’t the best quality but it picked it up enough that I recognized Manuel’s voice and another man’s.
“-defense routines, surveillance points, anything to help us get in and out without being seen.” The unknown man spoke firmly. “That compound isn’t a fortress. There has to be a weak point somewhere.”
I bristled, my body turning cold as I realized what he meant.
“Mm, there may or may not be an opening you’re seeking. A certain area in the compound even the boss doesn’t know about, away from cameras and traps- the only thing is it’s got surveillance by guards twenty-four seven. For a certain price, I could just so happen to make it so nobody is watching there for an hour or two. But I’d expect a pretty price for it, understand?”
“Fucking bastard,” I snarled as soon as Franky turned off the audio. Selling off information about petty shipments or warehouses was one thing but going after the compound?
I live there. Our employees who have nothing to do with the family live there. Bianca lives there.
“He’s done.” I declared coldly, rising from the seat long enough to pin Franky with a look that could kill. “Bring him in. It’s time to end his pathetic little life.”
I glowered at the screen, clenching my fists at my side as I thought back to what Manuel was going to do for money. It was time to send a message.
Greedy traitors get what they deserve.
