Submitting to My Best Friend's Dad-Chapter 847 : Our Little Family
*Cat*
I drove up to the house, my entire body still shaking and my eyes streaming with tears. It hadn’t been an act. Yes, I’d allowed myself to cry in front of Junior and all those men. They would probably never take me seriously again, but I hadn’t been able to control it.
When I saw my baby, and heard her voice calling for me as she tried to shove her way out of Junior’s arms and reached for me with those hands grabbing at the air, I kind of lost it.
I wasn’t lying when I’d said I didn’t want to leave without Elio. In order for a lie to be believed, you have to believe it yourself, and I believed all too well that I didn’t want to leave my man behind with those crazy bastards. Junior was a sadist in the worst definition of the word. He would have been able to kill Elio without a thought. He wouldn’t blink at having his men torture him and keep him alive for a few days before ending it either.
I had to sit in the car for a few minutes getting my shit together before going into the house. I shook, cried, and altogether fell apart. I was so glad that Emilia was too tired to resist falling sleep as soon as I got her in her carseat and the driver started taking us home. I really wished I could have stayed with the men and watched them kill Junior.
I had to believe that crazy bastard was dead and gone. I had to believe it had worked, and that Elio would be coming back to Emilia and me in just a few minutes.
I wiped my tears and gave myself another moment to just breathe before getting my baby out of her car seat and taking her into our home, where both of us would be safe. It wasn’t safe to sit outside. While our compound was gated and no one could get in without the code or get past the guards, I wasn’t taking any chances that our place wasn’t being watched by men with long-range rifles and scopes.
Who knew if Junior would double-cross us or not? I definitely didn’t trust him.
Guards were everywhere inside and outside the house. It made me feel a little safer to know they were there to protect our family.
When I walked in, my mom cried out in joy as she saw me coming inside with a sleepy-eyed Emilia in my arms.
”Oh, my babies! You’re all right,” she said, reaching out for Emilia and taking me into her arms as well.
She kissed my cheeks and hugged me close as she asked, “Where is Elio?”
My eyes started to sting again at that question, but I shrugged my shoulders because I didn’t have the wherewithal to utter a sound without screaming out my anguish.
Before I could take another breath, the front door flew open and like a miracle, he was just there, walking toward me.
There was blood all over him.
“Are you hurt?” I asked, frantically rubbing my hands over the dried blood on his arms and chest.
“No, it’s not mine, honey. Calm down. It’s not mine,” he soothed as I all but broke down over him.
I leaned my head against his chest, sobbing all over him. Emilia must have been reaching for us because Mom put her in my arms, kissed Elio’s cheek, and walked away to give us a bit of alone time.
Elio held me close, kissing the top of my head, forehead, and cheeks. He rested his head against my other shoulder as he enfolded me and our daughter in his arms. We stayed like that for a while, just basking in being our own little family again, having our child in our arms, and loving one another without the danger pressing in.
“It’s over, baby,” he murmured in my hair.
“Junior?” I asked.
“Finished,” he said simply.
“He’s–” I asked, touching his shirt and looking into those deep intense eyes.
He nodded.
“Go get in the shower,” I said. “I’ll be there in a bit. Let me go get our girl down for a while. She’s exhausted.”
He nodded again and walked to debrief with the rest of the men in the house as I walked to Mom and she and I took care of feeding, bathing, and putting Amilia down for a nap in the crib we had for her downstairs for when Mom watched her.
“I’ll stay with her. That’s if you still trust me with her,” Mom said.
I wished at that moment that I could bring Junior back so I could kill him all over again just for making my mother ever question her ability to care for her baby granddaughter.
I walked over to her and kissed her cheek and pulled her into my arms. “I’ll always trust you with her. You were a great mom and you’re a wonderful grandma. Don’t doubt that because a jerk like Junior was power hungry and evil enough to use a child to try to get it.”
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Mom said. “Now, go take care of that man of yours. I’m sure he needs you just as much as you need him right now. I’ll take care of Emilia for as long as you and Elio need.”
“Thank you, Mom,” I said, kissing her cheek again and leaving the room.
By the time we were done, Elio had already cleaned himself up and was downstairs. He gave Emilia a light kiss on the cheek so he wouldn’t wake her.
“Come with me,” I whispered, grabbing his hand and leading him upstairs to our suite of rooms.
As soon as the main door to our suite was closed, Elio took me into his arms and swayed with me.
“Elio, I want to leave the life for good. I can’t go through this again.”
“Neither can I,” Elio said.
I looked at him, surprised.
“When I saw you standing there, that throwing knife sharpened to a killing edge pointed at you, I almost lost it,” he continued. “If I’d made one mistake then, I might have lost you and our little girl. No more. No matter how much I love the life and hate real estate development, it’s not worth your or Emilia’s lives.”
“You’re forgetting to include yourself in that. It’s not worth your life either, and I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it,” I said, still a little surprised that he didn’t even put up a token fight for staying in the family business.
“I’d give anything, including my sorry life, to keep you and our daughter safe.”
“Well, we want you and your sorry life to be a part of ours, so no more family wars and backdoor meetings for you, mister,” I teased.
He smiled at me and kissed me hard. I kissed him back. We couldn’t get enough of each other. Before he could lift me and push me against the door, I was stripping out of my slacks and underwear. He’d kicked off his shoes and pulled down his pants jus enough to enter me once I was pressed up against the door, my legs wrapped around him, and his hard length buried balls deep within me.
I gasped, he groaned, and we were off. We moved fast and eager, our breaths panting out as we clutched each other close as if we’d just slip out of each other grasps if we didn’t cling so tight.
“I love you,” I breathed.
He groaned and we came together on the next pant of each other’s breath.
When I looked down at us, I started laughing.
“What’s so funny,” he asked.
“We are,” I said, still breathless with laughter.
Elio stood with his butt hanging out the back of his pants. My shirt was torn down its center, and Elio had only gotten one shoe off before giving up and just loosening and pulling down his pants.
He looked down at us and laughed himself.
“We were definitely eager,” he said, kissing my grinning lips.
“Yes, we were.”
“I love you,” he said, kissing me again and again. “Anything for you, love, anything.”
“Take me to bed, Elio,” I moaned as he licked, nibbled, and sucked at my throat.
“Let’s see if we can make it there, this time,” he teased as he shed a shoe.
Both our clothes lay pooled in the hallway as we made our way to our bed.
