Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 41: A Reaction From The Bracelet
Chapter 41 - A Reaction From The Bracelet
Senior Brother Sun was certainly not someone Xu Qing wanted to see. And it wasn't just because of his bizarre actions, but because he was a well-known lecher.
He had been trying to get his hands on Xu Qing for a while already, using various methods to entice her, whether it be through lavish gifts or sending her random invitations disguised as 'polite gatherings.' Xu Qing was rather beautiful in her own right, and while she lacked resources, she still had her dignity.
There was no way she would lower herself to that level. If not for the fact that Senior Brother Sun was a Core Disciple and had a higher status than both her and Brother Wei, she would have already beaten him up so badly he'd be counting stars in broad daylight.
His cultivation base was the reason why no one could do much to him and why he had managed to reach the rank of a Peak Core Condensation Realm cultivator. Unfortunately, this also meant that slapping him across the face without consequence was a distant dream.
But as she thought of this, Brother Wei dangled the pill in front of her like bait. "So? What will it be?"
Xu Qing inhaled sharply. This was risky, but she needed that pill.
"...Fine. You have a deal."
Brother Wei laughed, his smirk widening. "Excellent! May the best disciple win."
Xu Qing clenched her fists, determination blazing in her eyes.
No way in hell was she losing this.
Not when the alternative was a dinner she might never recover from.
"Great, I'll even give you a head start," Brother Wei spoke graciously. "I still have to get the stamp, but you can go ahead first."
"Don't regret it." Xu Qing wasted no time and dashed away.
Seeing her leave, Brother Wei smirked.
"The victory will be mine in the end." He muttered, rubbing an eight-pointed star bracelet on his wrist.
If Xu Qing saw it, she would have been stunned—it was the same bracelet she had been given by her master.
It was the source of her confidence, and she was hoping to rely on it to win. She had no idea that she wasn't the only one with a hidden ace up their sleeve.
She ran through the streets while keeping an eye on the bracelet.
'Still no reaction... What am I even thinking? This town won't have anything good. I should finish my round and leave for the next city.' Xu Qing thought to herself. 'Just a few more streets left.' She sped up even more.
Meanwhile, a certain boy and his two companions were seated in a tavern, nursing their misfortunes.
"UGH! My luck is absolute shit!" Han Yu groaned, slamming his head against the table.
"Don't worry, I'm sure Ox Hand's friends will bail him out soon," Dan Hu tried to console his friend.
"But it might be too late by then." Han Yu replied, his face still planted on the table.
"It won't. Do you really think that man will sit still in jail?" Dan Hu said with a grin. "He might just lose his marbles and break out of there or something."
"That's right," Fat Kui nodded sagely, as if he could see the future. "He's too stubborn to stay locked up for long."
SIGH.
But Han Yu wasn't having any of it.
"Let's forget about it for now. Worrying won't do any good." Dan Hu said before pulling over a bottle. "Here, try this. It'll help you."
"Yeah! Have the wine! It's the best for stress!" Fat Kui chimed in. "I drink it whenever my dad beats me up. Takes away the pain and stress right away!" he added proudly.
"Hmm..." Han Yu usually wasn't one to drink, but with the situation being what it was, he really felt like trying some. "Fine then." He muttered before picking up the cup and downing it in one go.
"AH! Damn, that's strong." Han Yu coughed, his throat burning.
"Of course, it's the Aching Heart Wine." Dan Hu replied. "I got it specifically for you. It's not cheap either, you know."
"Huh, look at you spending money on someone else for once." Han Yu chuckled, feeling a pleasant warmth spreading in his belly.
"There's a first time for everything." Dan Hu poured himself a cup and downed it at once.
"My turn!" Fat Kui declared, pouring himself a ridiculously large serving. "Nice wine!"
Unlike the other two, he seemed completely impervious to the burn of the liquor, drinking it like it was water.

"Damn, fatty, nothing seems to affect you. Whether it be beatings or wine." Han Yu said, shaking his head.
"Talk less, drink more," Dan Hu urged, pouring him another cup.
And so, the three began to drink, unaware of the impending chaos about to crash into their peaceful tavern visit.
Xu Qing had been walking around, scanning her bracelet for any reaction.
"Still no luck, Junior Sister?" A familiar, smug voice interrupted her thoughts.
She turned to see Brother Wei.
"Hmph, as if there would be anything valuable in this town," Xu Qing scoffed.
"I thought you would've left already." Brother Wei said, raising an eyebrow.
"I figured I may as well check the town a bit. Who knows if there might really be someone talented here—" But before she could finish, she felt the bracelet grow warm.
"Huh?" She looked down and found one of the points glowing.
"Oh my, looks like Junior Sister has quite the treasure with her." Brother Wei smirked, eyeing the bracelet with interest.
"Jealous?" Xu Qing teased.
"Why would I be jealous? My master is also quite generous, you see..." The man said, lifting his wrist to reveal the same Eight-Pointed Yearning Bracelet.
"You..." Xu Qing narrowed her eyes.
And sure enough, Brother Wei's bracelet was glowing as well.
"And look at that, looks like I'm in luck." Brother Wei smirked.
"NOT THIS TIME!" Xu Qing turned into a blur.
Before he could react, she shot off like an arrow, her spirit sword flashing as she flew straight toward the tavern where Han Yu was sitting, completely oblivious.
