Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 670: The Changling

Jason cursed as he read through all this, and he realised at that moment that he was fucked! Was this toxin really going to take control of him!? What was the point of trying to save his soul if he was just going to lose his mind and body in the process!? Usually, this is the moment when Jason would come up with an extraordinary escape plan that would allow him to preserve himself while fighting back against the darkness, but this was one time when Jason was at a complete loss for what to do! Jason’s mind ran at a mile a minute to try and figure out a way to escape, but he came up blank every single time, and Jason felt the first seed of fear beginning to take root in his heart!
There was honestly nothing anyone could have done to save Jason at this moment! The strength of the toxin that invades a person’s body depends greatly on the strength of the Vympir that bites you. A bite from the lowest ranking Yellow Sun Vympir would take about a full day to infect its victim, and the toxin would not be that strong, so the Changeling would barely be in the Yellow Sun Rankings. But as you went higher in the rankings, from Yellow Sun to Red Sun, and then to the White Suns, you start to see a rapid increase in the strength of the toxins and a sharp decrease in the amount of time it takes for the toxins to completely take over the body! Most White Sun Vympirs were capable of infecting a victim in less than an hour, and the Changeling they produce would be strong enough to take down a Red Sun Vympire easily!
But, of all of them, the most powerful was the Blue Sun Vympir! These were the Vympirs known for having the strongest toxins within the entire race, and within their group, there were twelve extremely powerful Vympirs known as the Dead Apostles. The twelve Dead Apostles were the direct descendants of the first twelve Vympirs that began their race by rebelling against the Grim Reaper a millennium ago! The twelve Dead Apostles formed the Council of Vympirs, and they were led by a direct descendant of the first True Apostle, Dracula. The Dead Apostles were known to possess the most strength as well as the most powerful toxins out of all the Vympirs! If a Dead Apostle bit you, then you only had a few minutes at most before your entire mind and body was taken over! The power the Changeling would gain would put them within the ranks of the White Sun Vympires at least, and you can forget about any chance of fighting back, because their toxins were strong enough to even infect the Primordials themselves!
So at this moment, someone like Jason, who had just been bitten by the woman who had once been seen as the most powerful Vympir in existence, as well as the former leader of the council of Dead Apostles and Queen of the Vympir race, stood no chance at all! And it was as if Jason suddenly realised this exact fact without needing to be told, because Jason turned around with a deep frown on his face and he began to fly away from the approaching darkness while calling out for Esdath to hold on a little longer. Jason quickly tried to send his consciousness back towards his body in the real world so he could warn Gina and Stella about what was about to happen, but Jason’s body was already dead, so even if he managed to send his consciousness back, there was no chance he would be able to talk to either of them! The darkness behind Jason raced forward and began to consume even more of the world, and Jason cursed as he felt it taking him too! Jason let out a mad roar in anger, but there was nothing he could do as the darkness latched onto him! Jason felt a great surge of power flowing through his body, and various system notifications rang out in the distance, but Jason couldn’t even fight back as he was pulled into the darkness and consumed!
Out in the real world, Gina was still holding onto Jason’s lifeless body as she cried desperately! Jason had stabbed his own heart with his hand, and now Gina couldn’t feel any pulse from Jason at all! Even the connection that tied them together was practically gone, and Gina couldn’t help but feel at that moment that Jason was truly dead! But Gina didn’t want to believe it! She refused to accept that Jason was gone! Their story couldn’t end like this!
Stella was kneeling on Jason’s other side, and she was staring at Jason’s body with a pained expression on her face. Stella could understand why Jason had done what he did. Jason knew that he was going to transform into a Changeling if he didn’t stab his own heart, and he had done this because he didn’t want to transform! Jason had been trying to protect their lives by killing himself. Stella closed her eyes and let out a sigh as she felt that feeling of uselessness coming over her again. She had allowed another member of the Royal family to die while under her watch, and she would never be able to forgive herself for this.
Ba-Dump!
But all of a sudden, Stella’s eyes shot open, and her heart skipped a beat as she felt something strange coming from Jason! Jason’s body was already growing cold, but as Stella stared at the large wound on Jason’s chest, she noticed that it was no longer bleeding. The wound had hit the heart directly, and that meant that it was supposed to keep bleeding for a few minutes at least! But right now, not only was the blood drying up, but Stella could sense Jason’s mana suddenly beginning to flow towards that wound at a steady pace! Almost like it was trying to heal the wound! Everything that happened next, happened in a split second. At first, Stella felt excitement in her heart as she thought that Jason had somehow come back to life! But then Stella’s excitement turned to dread when she realised that Jason was alive, but his heart was not beating! There was only one possible reason why Jason’s heart would not be beating right now! Jason had turned into a Changeling! Stella suddenly propelled herself off the ground and towards Gina like a rocket, and in the same breath of time, Jason’s blood-red eyes snapped open and unleashed a wave of pure destructive mana!

Jason’s mana shot through the cave like a sonic wave and pushed the two women away from him! Gina flew back and slammed into the wall on the other side of the cave, and Stella was thrown to the ground as she created a deep groove while sliding back! Gina quickly stood on shaky legs, and she watched as Jason stood up slowly with a completely unreadable expression on his face. Jason’s skin had turned alabaster white, and his eyes were now blood red with slit pupils that would be enough to send a chill down the spine of anyone he looked at! Jason brought up his hand and stared at it, like a newborn baby that had just gained awareness of its own existence, and Gina could feel her heart beating faster as she called out in a shaky voice.
"J-Jason... is that you?"
