Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes-Chapter 34: What a Cruel Heart
General’s Tomb, Dungeon Realm.
The towering Skeleton General fell to the ground, its body crumbling apart. It dropped an Iron Bow and a small, gold-covered book.
A voice echoed from the sky, "Congratulations on clearing the dungeon. The transfer portal is now open. Please exit the Dungeon Realm as soon as possible."
Hearing the voice, Lu Junsheng plopped onto the ground. He pressed a hand to his left shoulder, where an arrow hole was gushing blood. The pain made him grimace.
"Damn it, that was one hell of a fight. But at least we won in the end!"
Lu Junsheng muttered to himself. He looked at the men before him; they were all slumped over, showing no joy in their victory.
This battle had been absolutely brutal. Although they had taken down the Skeleton General and its 100 Skeleton Infantry, of the 80 men who had entered, only 56 were still standing. More than twenty of them were wounded, and a full 24 men had died!
Only one person was jubilant: Pang Damao!
He was carrying a basket on his back, inside which were seven pristine white Bone Arrows. He now stepped forward to collect the items the Skeleton General had dropped. He slung the Iron-Clad Bow directly onto his back. As for the small, gold-covered book, Pang Damao saw four words written on the cover: "Hundred-Step Arrow Manual!"
"Hundred-Step Arrow Manual? What is this?"
Pang Damao tried to open the little booklet but couldn’t, so he stuffed it into his robes. He then hurried over to Lu Junsheng and began to flatter him, saying, "General, you are truly valiant! If not for your godlike Saber Technique, holding the front line and cutting down the Skeleton General, even a thousand more men would have all perished here! Your Martial Arts are unparalleled. I’ve truly seen it for myself this time!"
"Haha!" Lu Junsheng laughed. "You sure know how to sweet-talk me! Have you collected all the spoils of war?"
"All collected, all collected! Seven arrows, a bow, and a little booklet. They’re all on me, I won’t lose them! Once we leave, I’ll hand them over to the Lord!"
Pang Damao patted his chest, but thought to himself, ’My Lord isn’t your Lord. Once I hand these items over to the boss, my mission will be complete!’
"Good, good!" Lu Junsheng nodded. "Alright, let’s all head out now!"
Pang Damao said, "I’ll lead the way!"
With that, the man was the first to step into the vortex of light that was the "transfer portal." His vision went black, then brightened, and he found himself back in front of the stone gate of the General’s Tomb.
The area was a complete mess, the ground riddled with arrow holes. There was no sign of Lu Hongyan or the Golden Lion. Not far away stood Wang Yi, the Crossbow Machine Carriage, Pang Datou, and the ferocious-looking Rock Giant Scorpion.
’The boss succeeded! My life as a spy should be over now, right?’
Elated, Pang Damao immediately ran to Wang Yi’s side. He quickly took out the items dropped in the dungeon and presented them respectfully to Wang Yi, saying, "Boss, Pang Damao has not failed his mission!"
"Excellent!"
Wang Yi’s eyes swept over the items, and he was pleasantly surprised.
What Pang Damao presented were the Bone Arrows, the Iron-Clad Bow, and the [Hundred-Step Arrow Manual] Skill Book.
The first two items were green-tier equipment, restricted so that Lord Players could not equip them. The Bone Arrows were a consumable, non-recoverable item that came with a "Bone-Decay" special effect, causing the bones of anyone hit to be corroded and aged.
The Iron-Clad Bow was a high-quality War Bow with an attached skill, [Carry], which allowed it to magically hover behind the user’s back for easy transport.
The [Hundred-Step Arrow Manual], however, made Wang Yi’s eyes light up.
This was a Skill Book that could only be used by non-Lord Players and Indigenous People. Upon use, it would instantly grant proficiency in Archery. With just a small increase in skill mastery, the user could achieve Hundred-step Piercing Willow!
However, the Skill Book was currently in a locked state. A Lord Player was required to unlock it, and the process was quite simple, costing only 10 points of Chaos Energy.
Wang Yi didn’t have time to study the [Hundred-Step Arrow Manual] at the moment, because the entrance to the General’s Tomb dungeon up ahead was flashing with light. The people from the Lu Family Stronghold were coming out! 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Kill!"
Wang Yi’s expression turned cold. He knew this was no time for soft-heartedness or hesitation. He activated the Crossbow Machine Carriage, and Flying Light Arrows immediately shot out.
In the next moment, Wang Yi began a massacre!
The Lu Family Stronghold soldiers emerging from the Dungeon Realm were met with what felt like machine-gun fire. They died the moment they appeared, their bodies riddled like sieves as a river of blood flowed!
’I’m sorry. Only by eliminating you all can my territory be safe!’
Wang Yi’s gaze was resolute, but the hands controlling the Crossbow Machine Carriage still trembled slightly.
He didn’t stop attacking until the dungeon entrance was piled high with corpses and no one living remained.
"The battle is over. Go find Cyan Ox and the others. Have them deal with these bodies. We need to continue clearing this General’s Tomb dungeon..."
Wang Yi spoke slowly to Pang Damao beside him, his expression cold. But after saying this, he couldn’t help but bend over and vomit.
Nearby, Man Datou shook his head and sighed. He hadn’t encountered a single decent opponent and felt the fight wasn’t satisfying enough.
But at that very moment, a figure covered in blood shot out from the pile of corpses. It was Lu Junsheng!
Somehow, he hadn’t been killed by the Flying Light Arrows! With a loud roar, he shot out from the pile of corpses, his figure as fast as a cheetah. He lunged toward Pang Damao, his right hand clamping down on his neck like an iron pincer, and then he leaped away.
"SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH..."
Wang Yi immediately activated the Crossbow Machine Carriage. Flying Light Arrows grazed past Lu Junsheng’s armor, but he used rocks and trees to leap away. Even while carrying Pang Damao, he was unaffected, and he quickly ducked into the dense forest and vanished!
"Lightweight Skill?"
Wang Yi frowned. He still wasn’t very clear on the Combat Power settings of this world. He never imagined Lu Junsheng’s Body Technique could be so incredible.
Man Datou also seemed a bit surprised, but he said, "The man is a spent force. He won’t get far!"
"Then let’s go after him! We can’t leave any loose ends!"
Wang Yi snorted lightly and immediately gave chase with Man Datou.
But once they entered the dense forest, the Crossbow Machine Carriage couldn’t move. Wang Yi had no choice but to ride the Rock Giant Scorpion instead.
The Rock Giant Scorpion was agile and swift. It could climb mountains and trees, so navigating the dense forest was no problem.
After following the trail of blood for less than three minutes, Wang Yi stopped again.
He saw Lu Junsheng in a clearing up ahead. He was holding Pang Damao with his right hand, continuously coughing up blood. His armor was shattered, and seven or eight bloody holes marred his chest and abdomen, with blood flowing freely.
But the five fingers of his right hand were clamped tightly on the back of Pang Damao’s neck, his nails digging into the flesh.
Pang Damao was scared stiff, and his crotch was dripping.
Wang Yi also saw Lu Hongyan. She was holding a half-kneeling Yang Wanli down with one hand, a long saber pressed against his neck!
Yang Wanli was coughing nonstop, his face flushed red.
"Hmph, a sickly old man thought he could catch me? No matter how far I’ve fallen, I, Lu Hongyan, am still the Second-in-Command of a famous stronghold. Did you think I was a pushover?!"
As she spoke, Lu Hongyan stared at Wang Yi with venomous eyes and said, "You killed all of my men? How cruel! They were real people, you know? Do you have any idea how many families you’ve shattered by killing them? How many widows and orphans you’ve created? Doesn’t your conscience hurt? You must take responsibility! You must atone for your sins!"
