STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 780: Part 2: Beast Invasion (5th Zone)
5th Zone, Wilderness
Jeremy Night noticed that the majority of them were four-legged hybrid beasts. As long as you didn’t let them near you, you could easily kill them.
But he was worried about other types of beasts that could use their abilities, for example, the poisonous corrupted beasts, including snakes, spiders, and scorpions.
He used his eye power and noticed those beasts were attacking the other side of the frontline.
They were not here. Unfortunately, he couldn’t act on his own; he could only fight within his formation. He couldn’t take other actions without orders from Supervisor Jersey.
On the other hand, Catherine Rosewood was giving orders to her lifeline beast. At the same time, she glanced sideways at Jeremy Night.
Seeing that Jeremy Night was effortlessly dealing with corrupted beasts, she was quite shocked. She put away her restless heart and focused on the corrupted beasts in front of her.
On the other side, the battle had intensified as well. Beast Tamers from various forces were contributing.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamers were taking action whenever Tier-5 beasts tried to perform a sneak attack or a joint attack.
As time passed, a greater number of lower-tier beasts reached the frontline. Everyone had thought there was a possibility of a beast invasion.
Now, everyone was afraid that the beast tide was slowly becoming a beast invasion. But so far, none of the beasts had been able to breach the frontline.
The corrupted beasts were being killed, including the Tier-5 beasts. One or two managed to get past, but they were all quickly killed by the Tier-6 Beast Tamers.
Meanwhile,
City Governors Orion and Leon were watching the developments from the top of the city wall.
They saw the frontline was strong. Beast Tamers and their lifeline beasts were overpowering their opponents right now.
But they knew the energy of the Beast Tamers and their lifeline beasts was limited.
If this continued, the Beast Tamers would be exhausted, and then the onslaught of the corrupted beasts would begin. Both of them could stop that from happening.
But right now, they had to confirm whether it was going to become a full beast invasion next.
"You stay here. I’ll go ahead and see," Governor Orion said to Leon.
Swoosh!
The next second, Orion left the city. He flew through the sky toward the border. In the blink of an eye, he crossed the land and reached his destination. He saw Governor Martin ahead.
Martin was dealing with Tier-6 and above beasts. Orion saw Martin was using coercion to stop them, but he didn’t use his full strength.
Swoosh!
Orion appeared next to him. "What are you doing?" he asked.
Martin looked serious. He glanced at Orion before saying, "I have killed more than twenty Tier-6 beasts, seven Tier-7 beasts, and one Tier-8 beast so far. But their numbers keep growing. The tide doesn’t seem to stop at all," he added.
"What?" Orion uttered in surprise.
His expression turned solemn. He shifted his gaze ahead and saw beast after beast appearing from the distance.
Their numbers didn’t seem to slow down. Now he understood why Martin hadn’t used his full strength.
Next, he moved a little further away from the spot. "Okay, I’ll lend you a hand." After saying that, Orion used his pressure to target another area.
Boom!
The mountainous pressure struck the bodies of the higher-tier beasts. The Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts collapsed onto the ground.
They couldn’t move an inch. The terrible pressure broke their bodies, and blood leaked from their orifices. Both of them were trying their best.
...
Red Moon Chamber
Head Harold was standing on the rooftop of the building. He could see the beast tide outside, but he hadn’t received any calls from the City Governors.
He didn’t know whether the beast tide would become a beast invasion.
A hint of worry appeared in his eyes. Harold had sent most of the members outside. He was worried that casualty numbers could be high, as the beast tide seemed dangerous.
Harold could see that one of the City Governors was standing on top of the city wall, but there was no sign of the other two governors.
He picked up his device and contacted other friends; he wanted to hear their opinions.
...
Frontline
Jeremy continued to cut down the corrupted beasts. His eyes suddenly caught a Tier-5 corrupted beast going toward Catherine Rosewood and her family’s Beast Tamers.
Slice!
Jeremy’s blade went in a wide arc, cutting through the neck of the beast in front of him. The hybrid beast’s head separated from the body and rolled across the ground.
Puchak!
Blood splattered across the ground.
Swoosh!
The next second, Jeremy left the spot and went to help Catherine Rosewood.
He controlled his starlight thread, covering the blade’s edge with a single strand. In a flash, the starlight thread shone with a white light.
Roar!
The lifeline beasts let out a roar as the smell of thick blood filled the air. Jeremy came closer to Catherine’s lifeline beast.
He saw a Tier-5 Hyena trying to perform a sneak attack. He was right; some among the corrupted beasts were cunning. The hyenas were one of them.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, the Tier-5 Hyena leaped at the vine-type lifeline beast. Jeremy reached the hyena in a flash.
Cut!
The blade in his hand danced. It moved in a wide arc before stabbing the neck of the hyena. The skin of the hyena posed no resistance.
Puchak!
The blade easily penetrated the flesh. The eyes of the hyena went wide.
Shriek!
The hyena let out a cry. Jeremy thrust the blade further, and the hyena felt a searing pain.
Pfff!
Jeremy withdrew the blade as blood spurted from the wound. In a flash, he made another swing.
Cut!
He then made a powerful slash. The blade came into contact with the neck and went halfway through.
But the size of the beast was huge; he couldn’t complete the kill in a single move. He withdrew the blade again to attack.
Boom!
The huge body of the beast dropped dead on the ground. This had all happened within seconds.
Gasp!
The Beast Tamers nearby gasped in surprise. For a second, they even forgot about the corrupted beasts before them.
