STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 628: Part 1: Routine fighting at the city gate
5th Zone, City-A
The following day,
Jeremy Night woke up early. He had a call with his parents and seniors last night, and he had reassured them.
Next, he could focus on things here. Just walking out of the building yesterday made him realize that things were not easy in this zone.
He couldn’t go out without a plan. He thought there would still be people outside keeping an eye on the gate.
The current situation was such that he had to become a Tier-3 Beast Tamer as soon as possible.
After collecting his thoughts, he got out of bed.
Then, he started doing his morning routine. The routine lasted for an hour. Next, he entered the practice room.
Creak!
After he entered, the room door closed automatically. He then turned on the switch. The natural energy started entering from the inlet.
Seeing that, he walked to the middle of the room. Then he folded his legs and sat cross legged on the ground.
The natural energy began to fill the room. A few minutes later, the room was full of it.
He closed his eyes and started running the breathing method as he practiced the inner healing method.
The natural energy entered his body. He began to guide the energy internally. The natural energy flowed through his veins.
The cells in his body were absorbing the natural energy, and the healing talent of his body was triggered.
So, more and more natural energy was being absorbed by his cells.
At that time, the unknown beast egg inside his mental zone began to vibrate. The unknown beast egg started to absorb the natural energy as well.
Jeremy Night felt relieved in his heart. Now that the unknown egg had started absorbing the natural energy, he thought he would reach the next breakthrough opportunity soon.
A few hours later,
Jeremy stopped practicing. He opened his eyes and checked his mental zone. The mental zone was filled with starlight liquid.
The starlight liquid was more powerful than before. He then stood up and opened the door.
Creak!
The door opened the next second. He walked out and headed straight to the bathroom. He spent the next 20 minutes in the bath.
He walked out later and changed into comfortable clothes. He still didn’t think it was good to wear his uniform before breaking through to Tier-3.
Next, he sat on the sofa comfortably and started going through the online articles on his device.
Meanwhile,
Melinda was confronted by the higher-ups and fellow members. They wanted to know what was going on with the fellow recruit.
They were asking whether she intended to add the new recruit to her team. Melinda wasn’t surprised.
She was already expecting such questions. She simply told them that she didn’t have an idea right now. But she didn’t completely deny it.
This left the members with frustration.
Melinda then continued with her work. She texted Jeremy Night to be low-key and to inform her if he planned to explore the city again.
Head Harold Red was busy as well. He left the matter of Jeremy Night to her care.
Time went by,
Jeremy Night continued to train in his room. He didn’t leave the room at all. He was doing weapon practice.
He wouldn’t have started practicing so soon if not for the articles. The articles about the wilderness here gave him a scare.
There were various kinds of corrupted beasts with large, higher-tier beast populations. Unlike the previous zones, the fight was going on daily here.
The city guards outside the gate were fighting with the corrupted beasts on a daily basis. Sometimes it was a solo attack. Many times, it was a group attack by corrupted beasts.
Jeremy wanted to see these things himself. For that, he had texted back to Senior Melinda, as she was checking on him earlier.
He texted back his interest to her. But he got no reply. He believed she would send him a reply soon.
He then shifted his attention and continued to practice.
...
That evening, Melinda came back to the organization. She had a big family in the city as well, but she liked to stay in the organization so that she could be ready for a mission at any time.
After returning to her room, she freshened up.
Several minutes later,
She sat comfortably on her sofa. She then took her device out and started going through her unread messages.
Jeremy Night’s message caught her eyes. She then began to read it.
A quick gleam appeared in her eyes.
"It appears he watches online news. The state of the Wilderness threat here is open for everyone to see," she thought.
But for Jeremy Night, this must be new. The 10th Zone and 14th Zone didn’t have daily battles against corrupted beasts because the population there was not that big.
But the 5th Zone was different. Not only did they have a city located near the wilderness, but the wilderness itself was also largely unexplored.
The size of the world had increased after the mutation. The area beyond the wilderness was an unexplored area.
From time to time, the Human Alliance sent a team on an exploration mission. It showed how dangerous the wilderness was here.
They had the problem of Colossal Beasts as well. But the Colossal Beasts had their own territory inside the unexplored area.
Only the Human Alliance had the information about their location. She then collected her thoughts.
Since Jeremy Night wanted to see the battles happening outside, she decided to take him to the city gate tonight.
Once he saw the battles himself, he would become serious. She then could rest assured that he would be low-key. But before that, she decided to ask permission from Head Harold.
Though Head Harold had given her full permission regarding Jeremy Night to make her own decisions, sometimes she wanted to take advice from him.
She then phoned him and told him about her idea.
Head Harold didn’t reject it. He told her to show him around the city, especially the places to watch out for.
Head Harold was still concerned about the Underground Organization.
Melinda agreed to that. She ended the call a few minutes later.
