It is fun to explore a big city for the first time. I didn’t come just for fun, but the city has the greatness that justifies it to be called one of the world’s greatest cities. Everything is different from Terrace, my hometown. The culture, the number of people, the level of civilization――I would say that if there is only one thing that Terrace has over them is the experience in actual warfare.

In Terrace, conscription is carried out to defend the city, so there is no one who cannot fight, regardless of age or gender. However, it would be best if people could live their lives without fighting.

It is called the holy land for Treasure Hunters, so the number of Hunters is far greater than in Terrace. There are far more Treasure Shrines in this area than in the area around Terrace. Hunters must be gathering here in search of them. This world is truly unfair. If only some of the Hunters in the Imperial Capital had come to the Terrace, battles would be so much easier.

I looked around a few of the stores and found out that the variety of goods being traded is much more diverse than in Terrace. Above all, there are entertainment items lined up. Although, there are no monster carcasses being sold at the stalls.

”Branch Manager Gark (Gark-shibucho)” has told me in advance where I might find some clues. The Great Library of Zebrudia, which houses rare books collected from all over the world, the Institute of Divination and Mystic Arts, an imperial institution that researches unknown mysteries, and the Hunters based in the Empire.

In addition, while I am there, I should also go and meet Cry Andrich, who took the Level 9 Certification Exam with me. He is currently suspended due to overdoing it with Code, but he is my only acquaintance in Zebrudia, and I am also interested in the Clan that the young man created.

As I am walking down the busy street thinking about such things, a person walking quickly from behind me bumps into me and passes by without stopping.

I am small and on the slender side, but I am a Hunter. Although I am not a close combat combatant, I have absorbed a fair amount of Mana Materials, so I won’t be shaken by a slight bump from an ordinary person.

However, for a moment, my thoughts stop at this new feeling. It is the first time I have ever been bumped from behind. I am well-known in Terrace and everyone fears me, so, far from being bumped, there is an empty void around me.

I quickly regain my senses, but by then, the thug-like man who bumped me is gone.

――However, they are already in pursuit.

A scream is heard from the crowd. A thud sound is heard. The people around me probably cannot see, but I can. A giant, fully painted in black, stands in the middle of the crowd.

『Sarasara’s』 source of power. Unidentified “Foreigners (Visitors)” from the darkness. It is unclear whether they are even living things, those who belong to a world outside of this one. Their long hand is holding the man, who has bumped me, to the ground.

The giant throws a leather wallet at me. It is my wallet. That man is a pickpocket. Of course, I have noticed that my wallet has been stolen, so I would have gotten it back myself even if they hadn’t taken it back, but I can only say that that man had really bad luck. The man’s eyes are twisted in fear, not knowing what is going on, as he is pressed so hard that he is almost sunk into the ground.

Without thinking, I frown.

Having overcome a wall, 『Sarasara』 no longer needs the night. Maybe this is because I have realized that it can also be activated in the morning.

Or maybe it isn’t me who realized it, but them. That sunlight isn’t going to harm them――.

In the past, I was able to see them at will. But now I can see them all the time. My pupils, which only turn red when I activate my power, now stay red all the time.

This fact shows that the Explorer Association’s concerns are not necessarily unfounded.

The old me was weak against surprise attacks before activating my powers, but the current me has no blind spots.

I stare at them intently, the giant who has been holding down the pickpocket lets go and slowly disappears into the alley.

Still, they do listen to what I say, for the time being. Even if they do act on their own, they won’t kill anyone against my will.

I breathe a sigh of relief. The pickpocket man, who is still *pikupiku* twitching on the ground, will probably be rescued by someone. Seeing my relief, the Foreigners in the crowd laugh like children. But only I can hear them.

I have to be careful…… They didn’t kill the pickpocket this time because what the pickpocket did to me was not enough to call it real harm. But if it had been a robbery instead of a pickpocket, they would have executed him, no doubt. And with great glee. They enjoy attacking others. This, too, is another danger of Sarasara.

It is going to be hard to explain my powers. I don’t want to get caught up in the fuss.

Just as I am about to quietly leave the gathering crowd, I notice something large approaching from a distance.

“!????? What is that……” (Saya)

It is a huge, full-body suit of armor. For a moment, I thought it was a Foreigner, but no.

My eyes widen in surprise, and I freeze. They are obviously too big. They are twice the size of the biggest Hunter I have ever seen. It is truly a physique where you need to look up to see. But what is most surprising is that they haven’t caused as much of a fuss as I would have imagined. Of course, there are people who are as stunned as me, but could it be that everyone is relatively calm despite the appearance of such a gigantic human (?) be because this giant armor is not an uncommon sight in the Imperial Capital? How should I say this, they are at least twice as big as the black giant that has subdued the pickpocket earlier.

The giant armor weaves his way through the crowd as if parting the sea, sits down next to the pickpocket, and points his palms at the pickpocket. Then, a divine light erupts.

“??? Healing Magic?? Healer??? Are they a healer????” (Saya)

Moreover, they are by far the strongest Healer I have seen so far. The calm and vast Mana Materials are reminiscent of a majestic nature. The serious wounds the pickpocket has disappeared in an instant. I am overwhelmed and do not know what to say about their incredible healing power.

To think that there is such a big Healer, big cities are amazing……

A nearby male Hunter calls out to the giant armor.

“A-Anthem-san, that guy is a pickpocket. He has been caught so many times, and yet he shows no remorse. I bet he was trying to steal something and got hit back.” (Hunter)

“………………………… Uuumu.” (Anthem)

Apparently, the person inside is a man. The giant man nods gravely, grabs one of the pickpocket’s legs, and stands up. Compared to his build, a human of average height is nothing more than a toy. The pickpocket screams in fear as he is hung upside down and unable to do anything. I wonder if bad people really get hung up like that in mid-air here…… Big cities, so scary……

The Foreigners lurking here and there also stiffen, staring at the giant man. In any case, the giant man is far too odd.

So far, the Foreigners have not been intimidated, no matter what army of Monsters they were up against――And even among the many big Hunters in Terrace, there are no men that big, so what on earth can he eat to grow that big.

As I am stunned by the baptism (?) of the city, I am suddenly grabbed by the shoulder.

“Hh!?” (Saya)

“Hmmm…………?” (?)

I *bikuri* flinch and turn around. What stands there is――A female Hunter. She has pink-blonde hair tied up and eyes of the same color. She opens her eyes wide and stares at me as if peering into me.

She is probably a Thief by trade, and one that is quite skilled. Although she is small in stature, I can sense that she has a burning flame-like energy hidden within her.

They immediately gather around her, craning their necks to peek in to see her face. I clear my throat lightly and ask the Hunter, who is staring at me like she is about to burn a hole in me with her eye for some reason.

“……………… What is it?” (Saya)

There is no reason for people to stare at me like that. And there is no way anyone would realise that I am the culprit behind the pickpocket who had fallen. She might have seen the wallet flying at me though……

A few seconds of silence ensue. Then the female Hunter blinks her eyes, tilts her head, and says.

“Could it be that……………… You are the Saya-chan that Cry-chan was talking about?” (Liz)

“!?” (Saya)

Thanks for reading! Here’s an extra chapter thanks to Kerphi. I love how Saya is like a countryside girl going to a big city for the first time. Her reaction to Anthem is just pure gold!
