Stellar Transformation-Chapter 48 - 2: 1 Tongtian Map Block (Part 2)
In a secluded courtyard in a remote town of the Eastern Domain Three Prefectures, this was a small courtyard purchased by Qin Yu. After becoming a Silver-level Killer, Qin Yu had earned quite a bit of silver and bought more than a dozen places to stay within the Eastern Domain Three Prefectures for his frequent use.
"Aunt Zhang, no need to bring it to the hall, just put the meals on this stone table; I will dine in the courtyard tonight," Qin Yu said smilingly, appearing now in his true form, while Black Hawk had disappeared somewhere in search of food.
Aunt Zhang, wearing a large white cotton-padded jacket, cheerfully set the dishes on the stone table next to Qin Yu, "Little Yu, eat here, I’ll head back first."
This Aunt Zhang was from a local inn. Qin Yu was staying here to recuperate, and typically had meals delivered directly from the inn. Qin Yu was quite free, considering his own father, Qin De, along with his elder and second brothers, were busy preparing to raise an army, and Qin Yu really couldn’t get involved.
"Thank goodness for the mysterious cleansing flow of the Meteor Tear; otherwise, I wouldn’t know when my left arm could recover," Qin Yu glanced at his left arm, sighing inwardly.
Qin Yu’s arm had been pierced through by two holes from Zhen Xu’s dying Finger Beams, the injuries were severe. Yet, under the penetrating healing flows of Meteor Tear, the injuries had astonishingly healed at a remarkable rate. In just three days, there were only shallow scars on Qin Yu’s arm, instead of the terrifying holes of the past.
Shortly after finishing dinner, Black Hawk returned.
"Little Black, you rascal, you still remember to come back, huh? You’ve been gone since yesterday and only now return. Really, did you find a pretty female hawk and forget about me? What a lustful hawk," Qin Yu teased as he tapped Black Hawk’s head with his chopsticks.
Upon hearing this, Black Hawk could not help but lift his head defiantly, displaying an air of disdain.
Clearly, Black Hawk did not think much of ordinary female hawks.
"Heh, quite the proud one, aren’t you? Ah, I’ve been healing these three days and haven’t had a chance to carefully examine the Tongtian Map," Qin Yu’s eyes lit up as he ran towards the interior room, followed curiously by Black Hawk.
"Ha!" Qin Yu reached out his hand like a claw and grabbed a huge block of brick on the floor of the inner room, effortlessly tossing it aside. Beneath this huge block were two iron boxes, and Qin Yu took one of them.
"Tongtian Map, I’ve heard of it, but never seen it." Qin Yu chuckled, repeatedly tapping on the iron box until it clicked, revealing a keyhole.
Qin Yu raised an eyebrow and smiled as he pulled a key from his bosom, the very key taken from Nolan Feng. He had watched clearly as Nolan Feng handled the key, and with it, he effortlessly turned it in the lock.
"Click!"
Hearing the awaited sound, Qin Yu smiled, opened the iron box, and saw two items inside: a Secret Letter and a Square Jade. The jade emitted a soft colorful light, distinctly different from ordinary jade, quite extraordinary.
"A Secret Letter, for Xiang Guang?" Qin Yu tore open the envelope and took out the Secret Letter.
As he read, Qin Yu’s expression subtly changed. The letter mainly contained two issues, the first being about the Tongtian Map. The second issue was regarding some details of Qin De’s rebellion preparations, including highly detailed information about special forces units in the Eastern Domain Three Prefectures.
Qin Yu took a deep breath, "Whew, that was close. Zhen Xu really detailed his findings, many of which even I was unaware of. It would have been bad if Xiang Guang learned of this. Luckily, I intercepted it."
What Qin Yu did not know was that Zhen Xu usually summarized his investigations in a Secret Letter after some time. This intercepted Secret Letter that included details about specific special troops in the Eastern Domain Three Prefectures was Zhen Xu’s greatest achievement during his time there.
Such special troops can play a unique role in wars. To achieve surprise, their existence must not be anticipated by the enemy. If these troops are known in advance, their ability to surprise is nullified.
Unfortunately, Xiang Guang would no longer be able to learn of this information.
After all, Zhen Xu was dead, and this letter had been intercepted. Even if someone else were appointed to lead the spies in the Eastern Domain Three Prefectures, it would be difficult to uncover similar information. The predecessor before Zhen Xu had held the position for over ten years without uncovering anything significant. A spy genius like Zhen Xu was indeed hard to come by.
"Buzz—"
With a clench of his right hand, powerful energy swirled around his palm and the letter turned into dust.
"The letter is destroyed, Xiang Guang, you old thief, will never know," Qin Yu thought darkly to himself, a cold light flashing in his eyes. He knew all too well that it was Xiang Guang who had caused his mother’s death. How could Qin Yu not harbor a deep resentment against Xiang Guang for the murder of his mother?
"Bang!" "Bang!"
Two crisp sounds snapped Qin Yu to attention. He looked and was immediately alarmed, "Little Black, stop messing around, your beak is extremely sharp. Do you want to shatter the Tongtian Map?" Qin Yu said as he pushed Little Black away.
"Fortunately, it’s not damaged." Qin Yu examined the Tongtian Map, the square jade of the Tongtian Map was still undamaged just as before, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Turning his head irritably towards Little Black, who flapped his wings twice and shook his head, looking quite smug.
The three pieces of square jade from the Tongtian Map had been passed down for who knows how many years. This treasure was not ordinary jade; it wasn’t so easily damaged.
"I won’t waste time with you anymore, I’m going out to properly study this Tongtian Map," Qin Yu said, taking the Tongtian Map and stepping out of the inner room into the courtyard. He loved bathing under the starlight at night; there was a unique charm under the starry sky deep at night.
The sky had just darkened, but this had no impact on Qin Yu’s examination of the Tongtian Map.
"This is the first piece of the Tongtian Map, what’s going on? Except for some images, there’s nothing else," Qin Yu observed carefully for a long time, even using his ’Spiritual Sense’ to meticulously inspect it. However, aside from the surface images on the square jade, there was nothing else.
At the top of the square jade’s front, there was the text — ’Tongtian Map One’, written in characters commonly used in the Hidden Dragon Continent.
Below the text on the front of the square jade, there were several small pictures, each very small, totaling thirty-six. Each picture depicted a person’s pose, each pose seemed quite bizarre at least to Qin Yu.
Beyond these thirty-six images, there was nothing else.
"What exactly is this Tongtian Map? The first piece is merely thirty-six images, and these images don’t show any Inner Strength trajectories. They’re just thirty-six odd poses. Are those all I need to learn?" Qin Yu wondered.
Qin Yu knew that the three pieces of the Tongtian Map had been passed through countless hands over the years, yet no one had ever discovered its secret. If learning the movements from the images were that simple, someone would have mastered it long before now.
Qin Yu racked his brain, trying every possible method to study, spending an entire half of the night. When the moon reached the willow tops, Qin Yu still hadn’t thought of any solution.
"Never mind, let’s try it, see if there are any benefits to learning these motions." Qin Yu suddenly stood up.
Qin Yu’s Spiritual Sense was very sharp. He remembered clearly all the various poses described in the thirty-six images. Immediately, Qin Yu started to learn the movements in order. His flexibility was absolutely incredible.
Yet even so, as Qin Yu practiced these strange movements, they still felt very odd to him.
But Qin Yu continued to persevere, studying each movement one by one. His excellent flexibility made learning the bizarre movements quite fast. As he proceeded with each movement...
"What’s happening? What’s happening with nature’s spiritual energy?" Qin Yu was shocked to discover that as he changed his form, streams of nature’s spiritual energy entered his body from his limbs and directly penetrated into his muscles and bones.
The absorption rate was far faster than his previous Inner Strength absorption.
Inner Strength spread from the Dantian, and the muscles absorbed whatever they could, but at this moment, the spiritual energy directly permeated into his body, not dispersing at all. It completely surged into his muscles and bones, allowing them to continuously absorb and transform.
What exactly is going on? Is the Tongtian Map really that simple?
Qin Yu didn’t know, but he knew one thing—he had at least started to enjoy this set of movements.
