Stellar Transformation-Chapter 120: Season 5, Episode 23, Tailgating
Sang Mo’s pupils contracted slightly.
Clearly, he was surprised that Qin Yu had accepted the task so readily. However, after only a moment of thought, Sang Mo made a judgment, "Liu Xing? I want to see if you will really kill Black Hawk."
There were two possible outcomes for Qin Yu accepting this assignment. One was that Qin Yu killed Black Hawk, in which case there was nothing Sang Mo could do. The other was that Qin Yu would turn against them at the last moment and instead kill another guardian. If that were the case, even if Sang Mo lacked evidence to confirm this ’Guardian Liu Xing’ was that cultivator, he could have Cha Hong execute Qin Yu for treason.
"Hehe~~~"
Hou Fei made a series of strange noises, his entire being emanating the aura of a fierce beast as he stared intently at Sang Mo before suddenly turning to Qin Yu and saying, "Big Brother, just because that Sang Mo bastard says for you to go, you’re going to go? Damn it, what’s Sang Mo anyway? I, Marquis, could flatten him with just one swing of my stick."
Immediately afterward, Hou Fei looked towards Cha Hong and said arrogantly, "Cave Master, I became a guardian as a favor to brother Cha Po. Just by my own abilities, I deserve those thousand guards. Isn’t it fine for my Big Brother and me to control a thousand guards together? Why the hell show any strength? If you, Cave Master, think my Big Brother is not up to it, haha, then fine. My Big Brother and I will leave this instant, and I won’t give a damn about being a guardian anymore."
Hou Fei was completely unconcerned and then turned his head, completely ignoring Cha Hong while looking sincerely towards Cha Po, "Brother Cha Po, it’s not that I don’t give you face, but I just can’t stand this humiliation."
Cha Po quickly said, "Brother Hou Fei, please stay calm. I know you’re straightforward. Big Brother hasn’t even said a word, has he?"
Cha Hong’s brows furrowed slightly as he turned his gaze toward Qin Yu.
Qin Yu looked first at Hou Fei and said, "Feifei, don’t be anxious. Is it not just a matter of pursuing Black Hawk? Since we have become guardians of the Red Blood Cave Mansion, we should get some real work done. Otherwise, it wouldn’t sit right with me to be idle as a guardian without handling any matters."
As he spoke, Qin Yu also glanced at Sang Mo.
Sang Mo, in turn, smiled at Qin Yu and said, "Guardian Liu Xing is so eager to serve the Cave Master; the rest of us should also learn from Guardian Liu Xing’s loyalty."
"Shut up, no one asked you to speak. Damn it, I just don’t like your face." Hou Fei’s fierce, fire-like eyes shone brightly, and his black stick in his hand seemed always ready to strike. Sang Mo’s face changed slightly when he heard this, but he dared not say a word.
Qin Yu then turned towards Cha Hong and said, "Cave Master, let’s consider the matter settled then. Your subordinate will surely capture Black Hawk for you."
Hou Fei glared at Sang Mo but said nothing else.
"Haha... good, Guardian Liu Xing is so loyal, I am truly delighted. Guardian Bai Yin, Ran Lan, Mu Xu, Zhuang Zhong, and Liu Xing, heed my command," Cha Hong’s voice suddenly rose with authority.
Bai Yin and the other four, including Qin Yu, bowed at once to take the order.
"I command the five of you to set out together in half a day’s time and capture Black Hawk. In an emergency, you may kill him if necessary," Cha Hong said sternly, his voice laden with murderous intent. The killing of fifty guards had truly enraged Cha Hong.
Qin Yu, Bai Yin, Ran Lan, Mu Xu, and Zhuang Zhong bowed and said in unison, "We shall obey!"
Cha Hong’s decision to have them depart in half a day was also to give them time to prepare. Qin Yu and Hou Fei went directly back to their residences, while Bai Yin and the other three also returned to their own places. However, they did not go to separate courtyards, but instead, all gathered in the courtyard of Bai Yin.

In the eastern district of the Red Blood Cave Mansion, beautiful maids were carrying various foods as they shuffled through the walkways and corridors. Sang Mo, in his red robe and chilling demeanor, did not return to his own residence but instead walked towards the courtyard of Bai Yin.
A maid clad in green saw Sang Mo, promptly stood aside in the corridor and respectfully said, "Protector."
"Hmm," Sang Mo grunted through his nose, not even glancing at the maid as he walked directly towards Guardian Bai Yin’s private residence.
Within the private residence of Bai Yin, Bai Yin and Ran Lan along with two others were gathered together, talking and laughing loudly. However, upon Sang Mo’s entrance, Mu Xu from the group let out a cold snort, his expression seeming rather unfriendly.
"Sang Mo pays his respects to everyone," Sang Mo said, bowing to the four individuals.
While Bai Yin maintained a smile on his face, Ran Lan and Zhuang Zhong appeared indifferent, but Mu Xu sneered, "Protector Sang Mo, what auspicious day brings you to our doorstep? I’m truly overwhelmed with trepidation."
Among the Thirteen Guardians, both Mu Xu and Sang Mo’s true forms were octopuses. But Sang Mo belonged to the ’Sang Clan’ of the octopuses, while Mu Xu was from the ’Mu Clan’. The enmity between the two clans over the title of the premier clan of the octopuses was ancient.
Anger surged in Sang Mo’s chest, which he then forcibly suppressed.
"Clan Leader Mu Xu, I am here for the life and death of you and the others. If you don’t care about your own life and death, nor that of the other three guardians, then I shall take my leave," Sang Mo said, looking to the other guardians after finishing his words.
Mu Xu sneered sinisterly, "Oh, life and death? Your words seem to suggest you’re looking out for our best interests, to ensure our survival. Since when have you become so benevolent, Sang Mo? In my memory, you’ve always wished for our demise."
"Shut up, I wish for your death, not that of the other three guardians," Sang Mo’s eyes flashed coldly, "If it weren’t for the fact that the other three guardians were also going this time, why would I bother telling you this great secret?"
"A great secret? Hmph."
Mu Xu scoffed coldly.
But Bai Yin’s brows furrowed; he picked up on Sang Mo’s phrase ’if it weren’t for the fact that the other three guardians were also going’, deducing that Sang Mo must have come concerning the matter of catching Black Hawk. If there was anyone who knew the Cultivator, that Black Hawk, it was undoubtedly Sang Mo.
"Perhaps Sang Mo really does know some secret," Bai Yin thought, and immediately said out loud, "Mu Xu, since Protector Sang Mo has deigned to visit us, we mustn’t be impolite."
Upon Bai Yin’s remarks, Mu Xu huffed coldly and stepped aside, ceasing further conversation with Sang Mo. Bai Yin was considered the leader among the four, as well as the most powerful in terms of cultivation; they all respected his cunning.
Bai Yin then looked at Sang Mo with a smile and said, "Protector Sang Mo, whatever do you mean? What secret that pertains to our life and death?"
"Let’s talk inside."
Sang Mo walked straight into a room; Bai Yin paused briefly before also entering. Bai Yin, very considerately, immediately set up a restriction to block any external prying.
"Sang Mo, what’s this secret you’re talking about? Out with it." Bai Yin said.
Sang Mo stood in the middle of the room with his back to Bai Yin.
Only after sensing that Bai Yin had set up the restriction and being satisfied, Sang Mo turned his head to look back and slowly said, "As for the newly arrived Guardian Liu Xing, although I’m not entirely certain, it’s very possible he’s the Cultivator. I trust you understand the implications of what I’m saying."
Bai Yin’s face changed.
Hearing this, Qin Yu’s initial reaction was to think that Sang Mo was deceiving him. But then he thought, what use would there be for Sang Mo to deceive him? Upon further contemplation, particularly given that Liu Xing didn’t emit a hint of aura, perhaps he really was a Cultivator.
If what Sang Mo said was true!
Then...
Guardian Bai Yin broke out in a cold sweat on his back. Cultivators were allied with Black Hawk. If during the final attack on Black Hawk by the Five Guardians, Qin Yu suddenly turned on them, with their guard completely down, the likelihood was that two of them would be taken out in an instant.
With Black Hawk and Qin Yu’s strength, it was entirely possible that all four of them could end up dead.
"Guardian Bai Yin, this is just a small reminder from me. I’m not completely certain myself, but I trust you have your own plans," said Sang Mo with a smile. However, he directly lifted the Restriction and walked past Guardian Bai Yin, exiting the room.
Sang Mo was quite confident about Bai Yin’s character. As long as there was the slightest doubt or danger, Bai Yin would certainly make thorough preparations.
Bai Yin’s expression was dark, his face cycling rapidly through several emotions before finally turning back to look at Sang Mo, who had disappeared at the entrance of the courtyard. A faint smile appeared on Bai Yin’s lips; he had made a decision.
******
Undercurrents surged beneath the sea. Qin Yu, standing on a black Flying Sword, flew at high speed in a black robe. Bai Yin, Ran Lan, Mu Xu, and Zhuang Zhong were each using their own techniques to rapidly move through the sea bed, five experts side by side, which any Demon Cultivator would avoid encountering at all costs.
This time, the Red Blood Cave Mansion mobilized the Green-eyed Fish Clan to help monitor Black Hawk’s whereabouts. Red Blood Cave Mansion wasn’t Sang Mo; whereas Sang Mo had to provide compensation just to enlist the help of thirty people from the Green-eyed Fish Clan, a single command from the Red Blood Cave Mansion resulted in hundreds of Clan members starting to monitor him together.
The combined observation of hundreds of clan members was enough to cover an area of a million li.
"Guardian Liu Xing, what do you think we should do if we encounter Black Hawk? After all, there are five of us. We should devise a plan," Bai Yin said with a smile as he flew closer to Qin Yu.
Ran Lan, Mu Xu, and Zhuang Zhong also closed in to listen to Qin Yu’s thoughts.
Qin Yu gave Bai Yin a look that seemed as if it could penetrate his spirit. Bai Yin’s heart trembled involuntarily, and he became even more wary of Qin Yu.
What Bai Yin didn’t know was that Qin Yu had practiced a Demon Secret Skill. His use of Soul Power was in no way comparable to ordinary cultivators who only had a rudimentary use of Soul Power. Among the Demon Secret Skills that applied Soul Power, several were cast through the eyes.
All at once, Qin Yu withdrew his gaze and indifferently said, "Since Guardian Bai Yin has long had a plan, why ask me? Among us five, Guardian Bai Yin possesses the greatest strength. For this encirclement, let Guardian Bai Yin lead. You only need to command, and I will obey."
Bai Yin smiled and said, "In that case, I will speak."
Qin Yu looked at Bai Yin; he wanted to see how exactly Bai Yin planned to deal with Little Black.
"Once we spot that Black Hawk, Guardian Liu Xing, along with Ran Lan and Mu Xu, will attack together. The combined force of the three of you should be enough to contend with Black Hawk. As the strongest among us, I will seize the opportunity to launch a surprise attack and deal the final blow, capturing Black Hawk if possible, and if not, killing him. As for Zhuang Zhong, he will be in reserve, always ready to protect against unforeseen events," Bai Yin said.
Bai Yin looked at the others with a smile and said, "Gentlemen, do you agree with this plan? Feel free to speak your mind."
Mu Xu and Ran Lan glanced at each other, then nodded in agreement. They had also heard from Cha Ge about Black Hawk’s strength; not to mention the three of them working together, even just the two of them would not be easily killed by Black Hawk.
Zhuang Zhong had no objections either; of course, he was content not to take action.
"What about Guardian Liu Xing?" Bai Yin looked towards Qin Yu.
Qin Yu nodded as well.
With that, the plan was set.
Meanwhile, Zhuang Zhong, trailing slightly behind the others, looked at Qin Yu and then at Bai Yin, a cold light flashing in his eyes but disappearing in an instant. He restored his usual naive and good-natured demeanor.
...
Not long after Qin Yu and the others left Red Blood Cave Mansion, Sang Mo also left the mansion alone, directly following in the direction Qin Yu and the others took.
"Liu Xing, I really want to see your true face. A person with such a strange cultivation technique who has never been known before, how convenient that the Cultivator has now disappeared," thought Sang Mo. He wouldn’t rest until he had thoroughly investigated.
"That Bai Yin, if he discovers Liu Xing’s true identity, he’d better give me the chance to kick a man when he’s down," Sang Mo sneered, turning into a red light and speedily chasing after them. After all, he had given benefits to the Green-eyed Fish Clan.
The Green-eyed Fish Clan members relayed Black Hawk’s whereabouts to Bai Yin and the others while also informing Sang Mo.

Qin Yu continued flying; he could feel that they were getting closer and closer to Little Black.
"Those detestable Green-eyed Fish Clan members... If only Little Black could turn into a human form, it wouldn’t be so different from the other Demon Cultivators. It would be difficult for the Fish Clan to find him then. But his Black Hawk appearance is so recognizable. It’s hard to find a black hawk in the sea."
As things stood, Qin Yu felt helpless; with the entire Green-eyed Fish Clan searching, Little Black had no chance of escaping the fish clan’s monitoring.
Suddenly, Qin Yu’s expression changed slightly.
"Damn, Little Black is actually heading my way." Qin Yu could clearly feel Little Black flying rapidly towards him and Little Black must have also sensed him flying in his direction, probably thinking that Qin Yu was coming to find him, so he was also heading towards Qin Yu.
This would bring them together even sooner.
After a moment, Bai Yin laughed loudly, "The Green-eyed Fish Clan has sent information. Black Hawk is actually flying in our direction. Ha, it’s like he’s walking into hell with no escape. Fellow Guardians, prepare yourselves, Black Hawk won’t be easy to slaughter."
"He can’t wait to be killed by us, so we don’t have to be soft-hearted," Ran Lan, who had a half-black, half-white face, said with a dark smile.
Bai Yin, Zhuang Zhong, and Mu Xu also laughed heartily as if they had no concerns about killing Little Black. Bai Yin’s eyes darted a glance at Qin Yu before quickly looking at his own three brothers.
