Stars In His Eyes-Chapter 1794: Sincerely Treating Each Other 7
"He Da is so great, Grandpa and Grandma will like him!" Chen Ning explained earnestly, "He has many good qualities. His only flaw is that he’s missing a leg, but that’s not something he can control. Anyway, I really like him! Very, extremely much!"
Chen Ning’s personality has always been like this; if she likes someone, she’ll admit it openly and won’t hide it from her family. After all, since she’s brought him home, even if her family disagrees, she’s determined to marry him!
Just thinking about her bustling surroundings while He Da is alone in the hotel feels lonely, Chen Ning’s heart aches a bit.
She turned to look at her cousin, smiled, and leaned closer to him, saying, "Cousin, are you not going out tonight? Aren’t your friends inviting you for drinks? Take me out, and just say we are meeting up with old friends!"
The man isn’t naive; he knows exactly what Chen Ning is thinking.
He raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "You’ve only been apart for two hours, and you’re already missing him?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Chen Ning nodded, "Very much, very much. Cousin, I know you’re the best! Please help me!" She tugged at his arm and began to act coquettish.
The man was silent for a few seconds and surprisingly nodded.
It wasn’t that he was helpless against Chen Ning’s pleading; he just wanted to meet the man who had captivated his little cousin’s heart, to see what kind of person he was.
He Da, in the hotel, didn’t know that Chen Ning had said many good things to her cousin just to see him. Thus, when there was a knock at the door more than half an hour later, He Da assumed it was a hotel staff member for something, so he went to open the door with his crutch.
As soon as he opened the door, before he could see who was there, Chen Ning jumped into his arms. Luckily, he reacted quickly since he regularly exercises, thus able to catch her in time and keep himself upright. Nevertheless, he staggered a few steps backward, awkwardly standing while looking down at Chen Ning, who was grinning mischievously in his embrace.
"Why are you here?" He Da asked with a hint of surprise in his voice, raising his hand to gently stroke Chen Ning’s head. She must have washed her hair after returning home; it was soft and smelled pleasant.
"I convinced my cousin to bring me out, and he came too!" Chen Ning finally stood properly, then smiled at the man who had been standing at the door for a while, saying, "Cousin, this is He Da, your future cousin-in-law."
He Da looked toward the door in shock and finally noticed there was another man standing at the entrance who appeared to be about his age. The man’s hands were in his pockets, observing him with a scrutinizing gaze.
He Da felt a bit regretful, just preoccupied with Chen Ning and hadn’t noticed there was someone else at the door.
Seeing that Chen Ning’s cousin’s gaze landed on his leg, He Da was even more regretful.
Ever since he got a prosthetic leg, he’s never shown this side of himself to others, especially after showering and changing into shorts due to applying medication on the wound, revealing the scars.
Realizing that the man standing in front of him is Chen Ning’s family, He Da regretted it, thinking he shouldn’t have met her family in such a state.
However, despite his inner regret, He Da didn’t show much emotion on his face. He released Chen Ning, stepped back a few steps with his crutch, and invited the man inside while explaining, "Sorry, I didn’t know someone would visit, so I’m dressed casually in the hotel."
"It’s alright," Chen Ning’s cousin responded lightly but stepped inside anyway.
