Star Wars: Daimon's Story-Chapter 52: Realm of Mortis
Chapter 52 - Realm of Mortis
With the Jedi Order taking a different route than they would have originally. It sets the stage for a lot of events that could happen in the future. This combined with the creation of the Sith Order and the Sith Empire would see a lot of changes in the things that happen when the two sides clash.
It would be over a millennia before the two encountered each other which would give the Jedi time to reform their Order and the Sith time to establish both their Order and Empire within the Outer rim.
The Sith already had the knowledge on how to build a lightsaber, and throughout time they would take that knowledge and create their own lightsaber creation techniques and make new fighting forms to counter the Jedi.
Leaving the Sith and Jedi aside, Daimon began to focus on other things. The next thing he had planned was to search for the Celestials. They were ancient entities in the Force, whose true nature could not be understood by the mortals of the universe.
The Force was influenced under the Celestials' dominion, and three of them were known to have manifested into physical beings who Daimon knew as the Ones, Force wielders who were made up of the Father, the Daughter, and the Son.
Daimon's intention was not to fight the Ones, but to meet them and learn the history of the Celestials. They had left behind powerful artifacts, mystical locations, and Daimon wanted to see what knowledge they had that he didn't.
So, for two months, he set up the expedition while finishing some things in the Imperium. Once he was ready, he gathered all the people who would come with him. In addition to the Immortals, the newly formed sub order which consisted of several hundred members of the Order of the Balance Keepers were also coming.
The Order was called Imperial Order, and its job was similar to the Immortals, to protect the Emperor. But unlike the Immortals, the Imperial Order were all Force sensitives.
After them would be Progenitor Raelos Vyn and Progenitor Kael Thoryn. They were both Immortal Gen'Dai like Daimon himself, only not as powerful in the Force as he was. When compared to other Force Users they were extremely strong, but against powerful Force entities they were barely a match.
The expedition fleet consisted of 15 ships, 2 dreadnoughts, 4 Heavy battle carriers, 6 destroyers, 3 transport ships. The expedition fleet was formed in order in case of any hostile encounter with other spacefaring species, or they came across a primitive species.
The Imperium would be left in the hands of Nyssa Revar until Daimon came back. Arrangements were made, goodbyes were said, and soon enough, the fleet was off towards the unknown.
The direction they were heading to was towards Mortis located in the Chrelythiumn system. The system was located within the Northern part of the galaxy in the unexplored parts of the galaxy.

So, not only would they have to search for the system, but they would also have to explore hundreds of systems and planets along the way. This was beneficial for Daimon and the Imperium as he could start taking over those primitive planets and gaining more territory on the other side of the galaxy.
As the Journey began, days stretched into weeks and weeks into months. The first system they came across was the Soun system which contained the inhabited planet Soun IV. The planet contained the Soun species which were just dark-skinned humans.
They didn't have any distinctive features that separated them from a human. Daimon sent 10,000 Gen'Dai soldiers to the ground to establish a strong presence and conquer the nearly 10 million people who lived on the planet. After that he encountered hundreds of other systems and planets that either had an intelligent species living in the system or planet or was completely uninhabited.
For the inhabited systems, Daimon sent warriors to the planets that were inhabited to establish a presence and begin establishing control over the population. These populations would spend decades being reformed and prepared for their entry to the galactic stage.
For the uninhabited systems, Daimon marked as places to start surveying for resources, and potential colonization. There was also the opportunity to discover new species or ecosystems that may be of benefit to the Imperium.
Similar to the Aruzans, these new species which mostly consisted of humans would be uplifted and eventually integrated into the Imperium. Most of these efforts would be managed and controlled by Progenitor Raelos Vyn while Daimon focused on finding Mortis.
As the first year of the expedition went by, the fleet encountered minor resistance from certain primitive species which had developed spaceship technology.
It was also during this time that Daimon found the Chrelythiumn system.
The moment the fleet entered the outskirts of the system; he sensed a powerful presence from somewhere within the system. He instructed the Force to guide the fleet to where he sensed the presence, and after a few minutes he saw the Monolith.
The Monolith or the Mortis Monolith was the structure that was the gateway into the realm of Mortis. Daimon stopped the fleet a few hundred meters away from the Monolith and took a shuttle with only him and his two Progenitors onboard.
As the shuttle approached the Monolith, it began to open up as a blinding light caused everybody to close their eyes. The light lasted for a few seconds before it disappeared, revealing the realm of Mortis.
The shuttle drifted forward, slowly pulled into the light. There was no transition, no sense of speed, no sudden shift. One moment, they were in space, the next, they were in Mortis.
The realm was filled with immense Force power, similar to a Force Nexus but different somehow. Everything from the trees to the animals running around was made up of purely force energy.
Raelos and Kael stepped off the shuttle behind him, but they didn't speak. Even their expressions showed traces of unease. This place wasn't made for mortals, and they could feel it.
Daimon closed his eyes and reached out. He could feel the ones, either waiting on him or observing him before making their move.
He walked forward, down a path of floating stone that didn't seem to have a beginning or end. At the end of the path was a structure, part temple, part fortress, part illusion. It shimmered between forms, as three figures stood before it.
The Father appeared first, with eyes that had seen empires rise and fall before the stars had names. The Daughter, light and graceful, radiated a calm energy around herself, but not weakness. And the Son, chaos cloaked into one person, watched Daimon with a grin. He wanted to fight Daimon already even though he had just met him.
"You've come far," the Father said. "Few even find Mortis. Fewer are permitted to enter."
"I didn't come to fight," Daimon said. "I came to learn about the Celestials and perhaps the history of the ancient history of the galaxy." While he knew a ton of knowledge from what he read in his previous life, there were still some things that he probably didn't know.
The Son laughed. "All seekers say the same. Until the knowledge they ask for tears them apart."
"Let him speak," the Daughter said softly. "There is something different in him. He is not wholly dark. Nor wholly light."
"No," the Father agreed. "He is balanced. Something that I haven't seen in a long time." The last time the Father remembered a Force User achieving balance was when the other Celestials were still around. Since then, no single person has managed to reach such an understanding of the Force.
"I've heard about your achievements and growth from those Force Priestesses, but I didn't believe that after tens of thousands of years that a single person could reach Balance between the two sides or at least get close." He voiced as he nodded his head in acknowledgement of Daimon's efforts and his ability.
The Father took a step forward, "If you truly seek to learn, Daimon of the Imperium, then you must understand that knowledge here is not given, it is earned. The truths you want are buried in the folds of time and memory. And even we cannot hand them to you without cost."
"I'm not afraid of the cost," Daimon replied, "But I won't pay blindly either. I came for understanding, not madness."
The Son smirked. "Then perhaps we can accelerate things. A test, maybe. Let's see if your balance holds when we twist it."
"Enough," the Father said, sending a sharp glance at the Son. "He will be tested, yes. But not through games." He turned back to Daimon. "There is a place here. Not far, not close. A relic of the old ways. The Well of Memories. If you want to know what came before the Jedi, Dark Jedi, any other Force users, and even before us, you will go there. And face what lies within."
The Daughter stepped beside the Father, "But beware, Daimon. The well does not give answers. It reveals truths. Some of which you may not want to see."
Daimon nodded slowly. "Where do I begin?"
The Father extended a hand and the structure behind them reshaped itself, revealing a long staircase of light, rising into a distant horizon. "Your path awaits."
Raelos and Kael watched as Daimon turned to them.
"Wait here," he said. "No matter what you hear or feel. This is mine alone."
Kael looked uneasy but bowed his head. "Be careful, Sir." Without another word, Daimon stepped onto the staircase.
The climb was silent. All he could hear was just the slow echo of his own steps. Hours could've passed, or even seconds until he finally reached where he was supposed to be.
The Well of Memories was nothing like he expected. It wasn't a structure; it was a void of energy. Suddenly everything around, him changed. He was no longer in Mortis. He was elsewhere.
He stood at the edge of a battlefield. But not one he recognized. There were no Jedi, no Sith, no blasters or starships. These warriors were wielding primitive Force-infused weapons, shaped from crystal and light, wearing armor made of living metal.
Daimon could feel it: This was a time before even the Rakatan Infinite Empire was a thing. Before light and dark were defined. It was raw Force, pure instinct, split between those who sought to serve the Force, and those who sought to command it.
He watched the world fall into ruin causing the vision to change. Now he stood at the heart of a temple-like structure, one larger than any he'd seen, buried deep within a planet. Inside, a council of beings argued. They were not humanoid, instead they were half-seen forms.
One of them slammed a hand on the table.
"We must fracture the Force. Divide it, contain it, or it will devour creation."
Another being said, "And in doing so, we doom all that follow us to division. To conflict."
A third one stated "Better that than oblivion."
This was all that was said as the Vision shifted again showing images of what Daimon recognized as the Rakatan rebellion when they rose up against the Celestials and cast them down, diminishing their influence and control. He then watched as the Rakatans, driven by greed and hunger for power, enslaved other species and expanded their empire using the Star Forge.
The Vision changed once again, revealing the first Je'daii temple on Tython. He watched as various species were gathered by the ancient pyramid shaped ships and brought to the planet. They strived for balance but ultimately fell victim to the influence of the Dark side forcing them to prioritize one over the other.
Daimon understood that the people he saw were other Celestials and the moment the Force was intentionally split. Light and dark weren't opposites, they were just safety mechanisms against raw, untamed power. Which is what he learned during his training with the Force Priestesses.
Suddenly he was pulled out of the vision and was returned to the realm of Mortis. The Father met his eyes. "Now you understand."
Daimon nodded once. "I do." he stated though most of it was knowledge he already knew. He was only interested in the part about the Celestials.
"Now, let's begin your trial." Said the Father as he manifested a Force blade in his hand and charge at Daimon followed by the Son and the Daughter. The trial was to be able to best all three of them at the same, showing his connection with the Force and ability to not fall down just one path.
