Star Odyssey-Chapter 3468: Wu Wei
Chapter 3468: Wu Wei
Lu Yin’s surroundings fell silent. Everyone shadowing and watching him exchanged glances. They were all from various major factions, and while they were all observing the Third Boss, they had refrained from communicating with one another.
No one would ask the others where they were from, unless they were out of their mind.
"Hey, brother, where are you from?" someone actually asked.
A flicker of killing intent appeared in the other person’s eyes. "Get lost."
The first man just rolled his eyes. "Come on, lighten up. Maybe we're from the same place."
"I said, get lost!" The second person was furious. He noticed the Third Boss’s eyes drift towards him. Was that because their conversation had drawn the man’s attention? This idiot! I don’t want to die!
The first man pouted. "Stingy."
The second man wanted to do nothing more than kill the first man, except that it was the wrong time.
He made a note of the idiot. Just you wait.
"Come here."
The second man was startled by the command. He numbly turned his head and met Lu Yin’s eyes.
The man was terrified, and he nearly burst into tears. Not me! I wasn’t trying to talk! Not me!
Suddenly, a hand patted his shoulder, scaring him so badly he nearly fainted.
"Hey, brother, he’s calling me." The man who had just asked a question stepped forward, moving towards Lu Yin.
The second man was dumbfounded. What is going on?
Still lounging on his sedan, Lu Yin looked over at the young man jogging towards him. "Are you from the Gate of Laws?"
The young man responded with a bright smile, "Yes, I’m from the Gate of Laws. Greetings, Third Boss."
Lu Yin’s lips curved up into a smile. "Contact the Gate of Laws and get me an explanation."
The young man blinked. "An explanation for what?"
"Get me an explanation for what happened at Boundless," Lu Yin replied.
The young man did not ask any additional questions, and he promptly sent a message to the Gate of Laws.

The Spirit Nidus possessed communication tools that were similar to the Tianyuan Megaverse’s communication crystals. Because the entire megaverse was interconnected, their version of communication crystals could reach anywhere. Meanwhile, many places in the Tianyuan Megaverse were forced to rely on wireless jincans, which were the only things that could ignore distance.
"Here you go, Third Boss." The young man handed over a tool that was very similar to a communication crystal. The item was called a spirit cloudstone.
Lu Yin took it. "Who is it?"
"Zhan Ming."
"Seraph Zhan Ming?"
Old Tao and Palace Master Yao just watched. As easy as that, Lu Yin had called a Seraph.
"Who are you?"
"You can call me Third Boss."
Everyone was left speechless. Was that how anyone spoke to a Seraph? Lu Yin might be the first to do so, though he also had the strength to back it up.
In the Law Domain, Zhan Ming’s face did not even twitch. "What business does Third Boss have with my Gate of Laws?"
"Give me an explanation."
"An explanation for what?"
"Someone sneaked aboard Boundless. It was an old man on the brink of death. Don’t tell me that that wasn’t your doing."
Zhan Ming frowned. "That has nothing to do with me."
"I don’t believe you."
"It really has nothing to do with me. I’m certain that Zhan Yan is not aboard Boundless. You wouldn’t have left her there."
"I already told you that I don’t believe you."
Zhan Ming quickly realized that it would be impossible to communicate with this person. Was this Third Boss simply that overbearing? Speaking in such a rude and domineering manner was something that Zhang Ming usually employed when communicating with others, but never had someone else addressed him in such a manner.
While the High Seraph could suppress the Seven Seraphs, the High Seraph would never speak to them so crassly. Everyone adhered to certain rules and maintained a level of courtesy and proper decorum. The Third Boss did not.
"What do you want, Third Boss? This incident has nothing to do with my Gate of Laws. We cannot give you an explanation," Zhan Ming solemnly stated.
Lu Yin sneered. "Either convince me that you had nothing to do with it, or give me an explanation. It’s that simple."
Is he really this shameless? Was Zhan Ming’s immediate thought.
When five domains had worked together to barricade the Hundred Grasses Domain and prevent anyone from joining the Grandverse Manor, those five domains had been attacked and their ruling powers purged within mere days.
Everyone assumed that the Grandverse Manor had already set up a functioning intelligence network throughout the Spirit Nidus. How else could they have identified the culprits behind the blockade so quickly?
The truth of the matter was that the Gate of Laws had helped the Grandverse Manor investigate the matter. They had been left with no choice, as the Grandverse Manor held both Zhan Yan and the key. Lu Yin had plenty of ways to coerce the Gate of Laws.
The current situation was no different. Lu Yin had the Gate of Laws by the throat, and Zhan Ming was helpless.
After a long pause, Zhan Ming reluctantly asked, "What kind of explanation do you want, Third Boss?"
"Are you admitting to being the responsible party?" Lu Yin retorted.
"We had nothing to do with it, but we can’t prove our innocence either. Just tell me what you want, Third Boss," Zhan Ming replied.
"Is Qi Zun really dead?" Lu Yin asked.
"I don’t know. Are you really going to destroy the Qi family?" Zhan Ming responded.
"I don’t want anyone else to interfere while I’m dealing with the Qi family," Lu Yin said.
Zhan Ming readily agreed. "Alright, my Gate of Laws can guarantee you that much."
Lu Yin casually tossed the spirit cloudstone back to the young man from the Gate of Laws. After catching it, the young man smiled at Lu Yin. "Third Boss, may I leave now?"
Lu Yin looked at him. "You’re so young, and yet you have an aura of decay about you."
The young man exclaimed, "How perceptive, Third Boss! I’m a gravekeeper in the Gate of Laws."
"Whose graves do you tend?"
"All of the old ones."
Lu Yin’s eyes lit up. "Are there a lot of old people waiting to die in the Gate of Laws?"
The young man nodded. "A great number of them. I don’t know exactly how many there are, nor who’s still alive or already dead. That’s above my level. My job is to simply tend to the graves."
"What’s your name?"
"I’m Zhan Qianguhou."[1]
"I wasn’t asking about your personality."
"That’s my name."
Lu Yin praised, "What a great name."
"Thank you, Third Boss. I’ll excuse myself now." Zhan Qianguhou turned around and walked away.
Lu Yin watched the man as he left. One of the Gate of Laws’ gravekeepers had been sent to keep an eye on him. Just what did that mean? He could not make sense of it.
...
The Consciousness Domain had always been the heart of consciousness cultivation in the Spirit Nidus, raising countless cultivators over the years.
Whenever the Consciousness Domain recruited new people, all of the major powers would go to great lengths to send their own people. Those who completed the Consciousness Domain’s training were almost always selected as squad leaders for the war in the Consciousness Megaverse.
While only a small number of people were ever recruited, they were all incredibly valuable.
On top of that, the opportunity to learn how to cultivate the power of consciousness within the Consciousness Domain was already a form of training in and of itself.
It was not yet time for the Consciousness Domain to start their next round of recruitment, but there were already far more people present in the domain than when they were recruiting. Far, far more.
Everyone was waiting for Lu Yin to arrive.
Judging by how long it had been, he should be arriving very soon.
Inside the Consciousness Domain, Qi Gong stepped out of his courtyard and moved in a certain direction.
"Patriarch, that Third Boss is about to arrive. Please ask Ancestor Qi Zun to appear and deal with this pest!" someone shouted.
"We welcome Ancestor Qi Zun..."
In the distance, the members of the Revolt Alliance were also waiting. Would Qi Zun really appear? That would be a truly historic moment.
Qi Gong looked over at the crowd. "Just who do you think Ancestor Qi Zun is?"
Everyone was stunned by this response, and they stared at Qi Gong in confusion.
The man’s expression fell. "Ancestor Qi Zun founded the Consciousness Domain! He stands above everything, and he is second only to the Ascendant Hall’s Apex Palace. Even the High Seraph must show him proper respect when they meet. Do you really expect Ancestor Qi Zun to appear for some mere Third Boss from the Grandverse Manor?
"You overestimate him."
The crowd was left bewildered. Were they not asking Ancestor Qi Zun to intervene?
People’s hearts sank. Could the rumors of Ancestor Qi Zun still being alive be false?
Many people had recently grown suspicious after learning that the Revolt Alliance had found no evidence that Qi Zun was still alive. This suggested that the Qi family had deliberately spread false rumors.
Could it all be a lie?
The faces of the members of the Qi family grew increasingly pale.
Qi Gong shouted, "Our Qi family rules the Consciousness Domain! Why should we need to call upon Ancestor Qi Zun? Any who dare to offend the Consciousness Domain shall never return!
"Wu Wei, it’s time for you to fulfill your vow."
Wind swept through the Consciousness Domain, and all who had cultivated the power of consciousness felt their power tremble. They felt an instinctive fear, as if they were facing some natural enemy or were touching upon another realm of existence.
Even Qi Gong’s face was pale, and his consciousness nearly shattered.
Qi Gong was a sequence powerhouse who had exclusively cultivated consciousness, as was the family tradition since the time of Ancestor Qi Zun. Qi Gong’s consciousness was at what the Consciousness megaverse regarded as the Stellar realm, which was quite formidable. In fact, it was comparable to Ancestors Qi Guan and Qi Shangjun’s. Despite the patriarch’s power, this sudden surge of consciousness was more than he could resist.
There was more than one cultivator in the Consciousness Domain who had cultivated a Stellar-realm consciousness. However, all of them were on the verge of collapsing.
The leader of the Revolt Alliance, Shi Lin, opened his eyes. At the moment, he was the only one in the Yinjing with a Celestial-realm consciousness.
Qi Shangjun needed the help of a spiritual treasure formation for her consciousness to reach the Celestial realm, while Shi Lin possessed that level of power on his own.
But even with that, he could only barely endure the terrifying consciousness that had just appeared.
This was the power of one of the Consciousness Megaverse’s Thirteen Luminaries. This was a Universe-realm conscient: Wu Wei.
This was the Consciousness Domain’s deepest foundation.
Unless the Consciousness Domain faced true annihilation, this being would never take any action.
When Qi Shangjun had escaped from the Consciousness Domain, Wu Wei had done nothing. Neither the Revolt Alliance nor the Qi family had ever considered asking for the conscient’s assistance.
However, in the face of the crisis that was Lu Yin, the Qi family was calling for Wu Wei to fulfill an ancient promise.
Few knew that Wu Wei was hidden within the Consciousness Domain. Even people like Palace Master Yao had merely speculated that the conscient resided there.
Only a select few, such as Shi Lin and Qi Gong, were aware of this matter.
As Wu Wei appeared, a vast consciousness uncoiled, surging like a raging beast. It spread throughout the universe, and it soon enveloped the entire Yijing.
Outside of the domain, a sedan continued to approach at a leisurely pace.
As soon as Wu Wei’s consciousness emerged, Lu Yin’s pupils shrank sharply. "Stop."
Old Tao stared ahead in shock. "Is that... consciousness?"
Everyone watched as the Consciousness Domain was completely shrouded with consciousness, though what each person saw was entirely different.
Wu Wei was a passive conscient, which meant that everyone saw the conscient according to their own thoughts and perception.
To Old Tao’s eyes, Wu Wei’s consciousness took on the appearance of a massive spider that filled the Consciousness Domain. The old man had once fought against a spider-shaped conscient in the Consciousness Megaverse, which had likely tinted his perception of consciousness.
Palace Master Yao saw Wu Wei’s consciousness as a collection of ice crystals that had frozen the entirety of Yijing.
For Cai Keqing, Wu Wei’s consciousness took on the appearance of a blade, one that had just released three slashes.
To Lu Yin, Wu Wei’s consciousness looked like a dark cloud, which resembled Xu Jin. All of the Consciousness Domain was enveloped in an oppressive gloom.
"Third Boss, do we... do we continue on?" Old Tao asked, visibly shaken.
Wu Wei’s consciousness was so terrifyingly vast and overwhelmingly powerful that it reminded the old man of when he had accidentally encountered one of the Consciousness Megaverse's most powerful beings: one of the Thirteen Luminaries. At that moment, Old Tao had fully understood what a Universe-realm consciousness was.
It was not something any human could stand up against. That single encounter had wiped out dozens of squads.
A Universe-realm conscient was a catastrophe. They were neither human nor astral beast, but rather a force of destruction.
Palace Master Yao and Cai Keqing were just as stunned as Old Tao, and neither was willing to proceed any further. The pressure and awe they felt from seeing Wu Wei induced an instinctive desire to flee.
All of Lu Yin’s various shadows were shaken by the sight of Wu Wei.
This was the Consciousness Domain’s foundation. Even if the rumors of Qi Zun being alive were false, the Consciousness Domain was not a place that could be trampled.
"Leave!" A thunderous roar echoed across space, shaking the universe as it shot towards Lu Yin and his group.
