Star Odyssey-Chapter 3467: The Path Back Home
Chapter 3467: The Path Back Home
Up ahead of the sedan, Wu Tong bowed to Lu Yin. "The Revolt Alliance’s Wu Tong greets the Third Boss."
Lu Yin looked at her. "You're back again? Are you still not willing to give up on Sage Qian?"
Wu Tong smiled. "This time, I’m not here because of Sage Qian. You have already captured Qi Shangjun, Third Boss. Past matters are no longer important."
Lu Yin chuckled. "Fair enough."
Wu Tong bowed again. "I am here to share the Revolt Alliance’s goodwill, as well as share a necessary message."
"Go ahead."
"The Consciousness Domain represents the Spirit Nidus's determination and ability to fight against the Consciousness Megaverse. It has fostered countless experts by helping them cultivate their consciousness and raising them to serve as squad captains in the Consciousness Megaverse. Third Boss, if you truly intend to annihilate the Qi family, then regardless of the impact it will have on the Spirit Nidus, the Consciousness Megaverse will be the one that benefits the most.
"There are many conscients in your Grandverse Manor. The fact that they are safe in the Spirit Nidus proves that you have been acknowledged by the High Seraph. Even if Yuan Qi stands against the High Seraph and rebels against the Spirit Nidus, your identities will remain safe. You have betrayed the Consciousness Megaverse.
"Given the situation, if the Consciousness Megaverse manages to regain its footing, your Grandverse Manor will face pressure not only from the Spirit Nidus, but also from the Consciousness Megaverse. I urge you to consider this matter carefully, Third Boss."
Most of the people in the Spirit Nidus believed that Lu Yin and the rest of his group were from the Consciousness Megaverse.
To begin with, their auras already revealed the fact that they were outsiders who did not belong to the Spirit Nidus. Of the three known megaverses, the Spirit Nidus regarded the Tianyuan Megaverse as one simply waiting to be reset. Even if Yuan Qi had traveled from the Tianyuan Megaverse, no one suspected Lu Yin's group of also coming from that megaverse. Instead, people believed that Grandverse Manor was full of conscients that Yuan Qi had captured from the Consciousness Megaverse.
This belief was a reflection of the Spirit Nidus’s innate sense of superiority towards the people of the Tianyuan Megaverse.
In particular, the fact that Lu Yin had endured a consciousness attack from Qi Shangjun was seen as further proof that he was from the Consciousness Megaverse.
People’s knowledge of the Grandverse Manor’s origins fell into two distinct categories. The High Seraph and the other top experts all knew that Boundless was from the Tianyuan Megaverse. On the other hand, everyone else unanimously believed the Grandverse Manor consisted of conscients from the Consciousness Megaverse.
If Lu Yin and those with him had indeed betrayed the Consciousness Megaverse, then Wu Tong's warning was not wrong.
The fact that the Grandverse Manor stood against the Ascendant Hall had nothing to do with where it came from. That was clearly Yuan Qi's decision, or so it appeared from the surface. However, if the Consciousness Megaverse managed to recover, then everyone who had betrayed it would suffer.
Lu Yin stared at Wu Tong. "Did you come here just to remind me of that?"
Wu Tong’s tone remained respectful. "With your wisdom, Third Boss, there’s no need for any reminders."
Lu Yin studied Wu Tong with a smirk. "Is there anything else? You can just come out with all that you need to say."
Wu Tong lowered her head. "No one in the Consciousness Domain knows for certain if Qi Zun is alive or not. I came here to inform you of something else, Third Boss.
"Although our Revolt Alliance has moles within the Qi family, we have never heard any reliable information that Qi Zun is still alive."
Lu Yin arched a brow. "Were these rumors deliberately spread by the Qi family?"
"I don’t know the answer to that question. It’s possible that a few members of the Qi family were told so, but that has nothing to do with our Revolt Alliance," Wu Tong replied.
Lu Yin grew curious. "First, you warned me of the importance of the Consciousness Domain, to the point of claiming that it is vital to the megaverse as a whole. Now you're telling me this. Just what is it that you are trying to say?"
"Wu Tong is merely stating certain facts in order to express our goodwill," she answered with a smile.
Lu Yin chuckled. "I understand."
Wu Tong bowed low before leaving.
Once she was gone, Old Tao commented, "They're trying to draw a line between the Consciousness Domain and the Qi family. They’re likely afraid that you’ll target the entire Yijing."
Lu Yin nodded. "That's good. The Qi family is the Qi family, while the Consciousness Domain is the Consciousness Domain.
"However, that woman clearly doesn’t know her Revolt Alliance’s origins. The only value that her words contain is what she shared about Qi Zun. It looks quite likely that the news about Qi Zun still being alive was deliberately spread by the Qi family in order to intimidate me."
Palace Master Yao remarked, "It could also be that the Qi family themselves don't know whether or not Qi Zun is alive, which left them with no choice but to do this."
It was not long before someone else arrived, also seeking an audience with Lu Yin.
"Without the Consciousness Domain, our Spirit Nidus will not be able to conquer the Consciousness Megaverse. Since you have already betrayed the Consciousness Megaverse, you naturally don't want its continued existence, Third Boss. Since you are not targeting the Consciousness Domain, are you using revenge as an excuse to secretly help the Consciousness Megaverse instead?"
"How audacious!" Old Tao shouted.
Lu Yin stared at the man who had asked the question. "You’re quite bold."
The man sneered arrogantly. "We do not fear death! All of us have returned alive from the Consciousness Megaverse. I suggest that you think carefully, Third Boss. If you proceed to act against the Qi family, you will be challenging the entire Spirit Nidus."
"Kill him."
Old Tao threw a palm strike at the man, much to his horror. "You-"
Before he could finish a single word, the hand struck, reducing the man to dust.
Old Tao shook his head. "Did he really think that he could make such accusations without suffering any consequences? Standing out comes at a price."
The man's death frightened many other people. Others who had been thinking of impulsively stepping forward instantly froze in their tracks.
Lu Yin glanced around. "I truly admire those who do not fear death. Show me just how truly fearless the people of this Spirit Nidus are."
Risking death and having death be a certain outcome were two entirely different concepts.
The first was a gamble, where winning would make someone famous across the megaverse.
The second was not a gamble, but a guaranteed loss, where loss meant death.
With the man killed, those who supported the Qi family, or rather, those who had been incited by the Qi family to stop Lu Yin and his entourage from reaching the Consciousness Domain, calmed down.
The sedan continued to pass through one domain after another, with no one daring to try to stop it.
Most people were hoping to see Lu Yin clash with the Qi family, as they wanted to discover the true depths of both groups’ foundations.
Young Master Yu arrived from the Wisdom Domain, accompanied by Mr. Li.

Mr. Li absolutely did not want to face the Third Boss again, but he had no choice in the matter.
Lu Yin looked at Young Master Yu with interest. "What are you here for? Are you going to turn that guy over to me?"
Mr. Li warily eyed Lu Yin, ready to instantly react.
Young Master Yu replied, "I came here hoping to convince you to exercise some restraint, Third Boss. You surely want to find proper balance, but in the Spirit Nidus, I can gauge that balance much better than you can."
Right after that, the man was tossed away again.
Mr. Li wanted to intervene, but since Lu Yin had taken action, Mr. Li could not afford to lower his guard. He focused entirely on his own safety, knowing full well that he was the one Lu Yin genuinely wanted. As for Young Master Yu, Mr. Li would protect the young man if possible, but if it proved to be too much, it was not particularly important. After all, there was still the hidden heir.
For the second time, Young Master Yu was thrown away by Lu Yin, but he simply walked away calmly.
Mr. Li turned back to look at the sedan. If this Third Boss did go to destroy the Qi family, how would a battle between him and Qi Zun turn out, if Qi Zun was really still alive?
Quickly, more than half a month passed by. Lu Yin and his group were quickly drawing closer to the Consciousness Domain.
The entire domain was on high alert. Countless cultivators who had trained in the Consciousness Domain voluntarily gathered together, hoping to work with the Qi family to stop Lu Yin.
Members of the Qi family chatted with each other, laughing as though they had no worries at all.
Only Qi Gong remained isolated in his courtyard. He refused to meet with anyone.
The Qi family could not flee, but stopping the Third Boss was also entirely out of the question.
Their only chance was the Universe-realm conscient, which was one of the Consciousness Megaverse’s Thirteen Luminaries. After being captured by Ancestor Qi Zun, that conscient had been hidden away within the Consciousness Domain.
Qi Gong was determined to wait a little longer. Only at the last moment when he had no other choice would he turn to that conscient.
The patriarch did not believe that the Third Boss was truly unafraid of Ancestor Qi Zun. He just needed to wait a bit longer.
...
In the Hundred Grasses Domain, countless eyes were staring at Boundless, which was the focus of many different organizations.
Every move that Lu Yin made while away from Boundless was being watched, but so was Boundless.
One day, an elderly man arrived in the Hundred Grasses Domain. His graying beard was dry, and its hair had split ends. His eyes were cloudy, and he looked like someone on the verge of death. It seemed like he might die at any moment.
The old man stared off into the distance, his eyes filled with complex emotions as he sighed. "The Hundred Grasses Domain... I’ve truly missed it. How long has it been? I never thought that things would turn out like this.
"Ah, who could have thought that this would be my final resting place? So be it, so be it. It's all fate."
With that, the old man took a step forward. His figure warped before gradually disappearing. He had not moved quickly, but rather truly vanished. He had merged with the mountains, the earth, and the void as he proceeded towards Boundless.
As he moved along, the old man passed through one person after another. He did not avoid them, but actually moved straight through them. No one even noticed. Everyone was completely unaware of the old man’s passing. Despite the various powerful experts present, there was no one capable of sensing him.
The old man moved closer to Boundless, and he eventually arrived at the bow of the battleship. There, he saw Yu Shan hanging from a tree.
The old man merely glanced at the captive before moving deeper into Boundless.
He passed by the black energy converter users, as well as the soldiers of the Tianyuan Army, Second Life, Luo Shan, Ce Wangtian, and Sovereign Dou Sheng. All along, none of them were able to sense the old man. They noticed nothing of his passing.
The old man moved through Boundless as though there was nothing there. He simply walked along, as if searching for something.
Suddenly, a voice called out, "What are you looking for?"
The old man stopped, and he slowly turned his head to look at someone. "And who might you be?"
Of course, the person who had called out to the old man was the Origin Progenitor. Out of everyone aboard Boundless, he alone had detected the old man’s presence. Everyone else, including even Yuan Qi and Progenitor Xi, was completely oblivious.
"Just an old relic who’s been discarded by time," the Origin Progenitor replied.
The old man chuckled. "What a coincidence. I am also an old relic who’s been discarded by time. No one even remembers me now."
"What are you doing on Boundless?"
"Looking for someone."
"Who?"
"A little girl."
"You won’t find her."
"Even if I do find her, it would be useless. I can’t take her away, as I’m too old to do anything anymore."
The Origin Progenitor continued to stare at the old man. "Your vitality is completely gone. Are you planning to die here on Boundless?"
The old man shook his head and turned to stare off into the distance. "I have no choice."
"Go," the Origin Progenitor stated before turning to leave.
The old man turned back to look at the Origin Progenitor. "You’re not going to target me?"
"There’s no need. Go wherever you wish while you still can." The Origin Progenitor’s voice faded away as he returned to his place of seclusion.
The old man slowly bowed to the Origin Progenitor’s departing figure. "Thank you."
With that, the old man left Boundless, returning into outer space and continuing in a certain direction.
Home. He was moving towards home. He wanted to be buried in his homeland.
"I’m sorry, but I couldn’t find her. Even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to take her back. Boundless is not something that I can go against. You’re on your own now."
...
As Lu Yin traveled through outer space, he received a message informing him that someone had trespassed into Boundless. A decrepit old man on the verge of death had been searching for a girl.
Lu Yin frowned. Searching for a girl? That must be Zhan Yan.
The only reason why anyone would be searching for Zhan Yan was because of the Gate of Laws’s key that she carried.
Who could be behind the old man’s search? The Gate of Laws’ Zhan family? The High Seraph?
Only a few people knew that the key was in Zhan Yan’s possession, which narrowed down the most likely suspects.
Still, it was not certain that those were the only two possibilities. Since Yuan Qi had managed to deduce that Zhan Yan held the key, the other Seraphs might have figured that out as well.
Forget it. No matter who’s behind it, the Zhan family will have to bear the blame.
The matter was quite serious because the Origin Progenitor was the one who had discovered the old man. More specifically, it was because only the Origin Progenitor had been able to sense the old man.
How many other ancient monsters on the verge of death like that old man were still in the Spirit Nidus?
Lu Yin glanced around. "Summon someone from the Gate of Laws."
