Star Gate-Chapter 1736: Quiet (II)

“Brother Yin, do you have any inside knowledge?” asked an expectant female cultivator next to Liu Yin. The others immediately perked up their ears. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

While they were all second gens of senior executives who’d chosen to stay in Silver Moon, there were very few top executives who chose to start a family. Liu Long and Liu Yan shared a long history. Others such as Hou Xiaochen and Yu Luocha had been separated by the Star Gate. There was no chance to meet, much less produce offspring.

So while these second gens commanded decent influence, their status was much lower compared to Liu Yin’s.

“Inside knowledge?” Liu Yin grinned. “I don’t know if this counts, but the Silver Moon marquis has mentioned it a few times. He’s going to silence all of Skyward!”

Nods abounded. We know that! Get to the point!

Liu Yin chuckled merrily when he saw how his friends hung on his every word. “I’ve never witnessed the silencing of a world and neither has my father. But apparently, some dao foundation sites—places where mid and high ranks once cultivated—will break during the process. That will disseminate the exalted emperor’s dao foundation!

“In other words, it’s the comprehension of Skyward’s exalted emperors. If we’re lucky enough to perceive some of that heritage, then we might inherit a bit of it! And if we can do that... then... we might be able to enter the dao universe!”

This kind of entry was not the typical instances that had taken place before. Instead, it would be one of transplanting their own dao!

“It’s said that because the Skyward dao universe has not yet revitalized, only the Silver Moon marquis can access it,” Liu Yin whispered. “And that’s due to the fact that he inherited some of Skyward’s dao legacy. Anyone who inherits some can activate some of the stilled dao stars within the dao universe...

“Silver Moon is great, but it’s only a fourth rank for now. What lies before us is a ninth rank major world. Once we inherit some of their heritage, we won’t have to take up one of Silver Moon’s exalted emperor spots. It also goes without saying what the implications are once the Skyward dao universe fully revitalizes. This is an opportunity, a massive opportunity!

“Of course, it comes with great risks!”

Liu Yin’s enthralled friends jerked with shock and looked at him.

“While our marquis has many friends who are premier heavyweights...” Liu Yin said cautiously. “He also has a lot of enemies!

“Many of his enemies are seventh and eighth rank! They’re terrifying! Skyward is a place that all powerhouses have their eyes set on as well. The four seventh ranks at the world gates are just temporary help. They’ll leave sooner or later.

“While Silver Moon possesses many exalted emperors now, they’re not sufficient with which to hold the major world! By then, whoever takes Skyward might comprehend its dao, which will leave us in a lot of trouble.”

The group exchanged startled looks with each other. That was true.

“Brother Yin, can’t the four seventh ranks keep Skyward for us?”

“Are you nuts? There was a battle between a dozen seventh ranks here a while ago and many of them died in it! It was our marquis who played different sides against each other and benefited from New Martial’s help that he emerged as the victor.”

Liu Yin sighed with appreciation and shook his head. “Silver Moon is too young! Based on the flow of time in the chaos, it’s only been fifty years since the Sword Sovereign left. It’s incredible for one exalted emperor to appear in such a young world, to say nothing of our bunch!

“In conclusion, there’s certainly opportunities to be had at Skyward, but it comes with a hefty dose of danger. Once Skyward is abandoned and the marquis evacuates with Silver Moon, it won’t be as easy for someone to leave the dao universe if they barge in.”

So this was the case! The group understood now. However, they were tempted all the same. This was their chance!

“What if we comprehend Skyward’s dao and don’t enter its dao universe?”

“You can do that too!”

That set the group at ease. “Where are the dao foundation sites? Are there a lot of them?”

“There’s tons! There were apparently hundreds of exalted emperors in Skyward back in the day. Dao foundation sites were present in every region...” Here, Liu Yin switched to transmission. “But I know that some dao foundation sites have long lost all of their dao remnants, whereas some still have a high concentration of their heritage. Some were left behind by mid ranks and quite a few by high ranks. All of this is top secret!”

Broad grins crossed faces at his words. As they thought, they could become privy to some inside knowledge if they followed Liu Yin! None of this was circulated in Silver Moon. Even if some people knew that dao foundation sites existed, there were so many sites to sift through. Many had been destroyed in recent times.

How were they to know which were useful and which were not? Which ones were the legacy of a seventh rank and which of an eighth rank?

At the same time.

Similar news made its rounds through all of those who walked out of Silver Moon. This was done on purpose by Li Hao and his inner circle. With that, it was up to the rest of the people how they would choose and seek out a good dao foundation site.

Of course, their attempts would be marked by danger. The eruption of dao foundation within a silent world and the remnants left behind by powerhouses might harm those nearby.

Within the dao universe.

A group of people congregated within the void. It wasn’t that easy for Li Hao to borrow another’s hand to accomplish his goals. He looked at the two masters of dao with a solemn expression.

“My hope is that Silver Moon can utilize the silencing of Skyward to soar to the heavens in one step! Silver Moon is too young. While that represents great potential, it also means feeble foundations. Even though I’ve released endless dao strength into the Silver Moon dao universe, it is still difficult to turn an incredibly young dao universe into a veteran world!”

The heavyweights nodded.

“I have an idea of sending the two dao masters to connect their rivers to all of the dao foundation sites,” Li Hao continued. “They will erupt when the world is silenced. Our actions will protect the Silver Moon cultivators studying the sites and also enable the dao rivers to absorb the reflections of the Skyward exalted emperors!”

The two dao masters were overjoyed by the proposal, but the young man quickly added, “We have a problem now that it’s one thing if the dao remnants from Skyward’s exalted emperors are gentle and mild. But if they’re combative and react strongly... and if there’s a lot of them... Then that poses a danger to us!”

The ones he’d come in contact with were peaceful, but that didn’t mean all Skyward exalted emperors were thus. If they erupted in unison, that might be the end of the two fourth rank dao masters.

“Milord, the exalted emperors have long departed from these dao foundation sites,” Gan Wuliang offered gravely. “Can they still harm us even if they flare up?”

They were fourth ranks!

“Regular ones can’t and even seventh rank ones will be hard pressed to, but... I’ve visited Demon Summit—that’s an eighth rank dao foundation site. It killed even fifth ranks!”

Wary looks crept onto the two dao masters’ faces.

“From what I know, Skyward has the five elemental envoys and the envoys of light and dark,” continued the young man. “The envoys of light and dark are both eighth ranks and the weakest of the five envoys is the water envoy. That personage is also peak sixth rank.

“The other four are said to be seventh ranks, but their leader—the metal envoy—might be an eighth rank. I’m not certain of the details, neither is anyone else. It’s also tough to say where that one’s dao foundation site is.

“The Skyward master is also a ninth rank powerhouse!” Li Hao sighed. “I’ve only discovered his dao chess for now. That’s not necessarily his dao foundation site or his main cultivation space. It’ll be hard to locate his cultivation site in normal times, but we might be able to find his residence once we silence the entire world.

“Silencing the world is commanding the entire world to be still. Even secondary spaces will appear then!

“Anything might appear with the silencing of a world. Some hidden weapons and sleeping powerhouses within the world might show themselves as well...”

“Sleeping powerhouses?” The two dao masters exchanged startled glances, then looked at the young man. Was that possible?

Skyward had vanished for many years—over a million, to be exact. Logically speaking, everyone might have died from old age, apart from the high ranks. Fifth ranks couldn’t live one million years, after all.

It was a similar case to sixth ranks, whereas seventh ranks were almost undying. Unless a seventh rank had stayed behind back in the day and kept themselves hidden all this time... even voluntarily silenced their dao strength... then how could there be sleeping heavyweights present?

“A replica!” Li Hao sighed.

“......” The group blinked.

“Even Senior Celestial Pole left a replica behind. What if the Skyward master left one of his? He wouldn’t need to oversee the great dao in that capacity. So even though it’s only a replica, one from a being like that is exceptionally frightening. We may have seventh ranks in residence, but it’s best to be careful!”

Nods abounded once more.

“Of course, this is a chance for Panther and Senior Number Two!”

The origin of a ninth rank world!

Skyward’s must still exist. It would be a completely dead world if not, one unable to produce any life.

“If Panther can swallow some of it, then we will be a solid fifth rank world!”

The dog wagged its tail, slightly nervous. And this wasn’t all of Li Hao’s goals. He hesitated, mulled over his words, then said, “In addition... if the dao universe does seem to revitalize during this process... or some of its dao stars look to be... The two dao masters are to move those stars to the Silver Moon dao universe!”

“......” That prompted looks of surprise. Are you going to... completely dismantle Skyward? You’re taking down even its dao universe! Skyward’s! A ninth rank!

“There’s nothing to worry about,” Li Hao exhaled. “Skyward’s dao universe is probably laid out according to the dao chess’ configuration. I know how to dismantle it. Although I didn’t finish walking the dao chess, I’m familiar with the first couple thousand of daos in the beginning!”

Indeed, the young man had thought of everything. He would dismantle the dao universe if it showed signs of revitalization. It would not be permitted to come back to life. Doing so at this stage and being discovered by another would be the greatest trouble of all.

No one was interested in a silent dao universe. But once it came back to life... then those that’d left before would return. As for how they would know it was a revitalizing dao universe or simply ripples of the great dao... would powerhouses of that level not be able to tell the difference?

Not to mention, it would be a gross underestimation of the major worlds to assume that there weren’t scouts and spies in the premises. There might even be seventh or eighth ranks outside Skyward personally keeping an eye on the situation!
