Star Gate-Chapter 1700: Enormous Gains! (I)
“Master Light and Master Skycloud...” shouted the Nether Moon master. “Save me! If the two masters save me, the Nether Moon is willing to become part of the two master’s worlds!”
The two eighth ranks were tempted by his offer, but the Human King interrupted with a loud roar of laughter.
“Very good, I’ll let them go if they’re willing to take you!” hooted the Human King. “But you’ll need to keep your word and become part of them like Orchid Forest did!”
“......” In the distance, the two eighth ranks suddenly paused. If this was in times past, they would be delighted by this development. They would be gaining a seventh rank for no effort at all!
But now, they were no longer as overjoyed. They even had the idea of first exterminating all of the worlds they integrated from now on! Orchid Forest in front of them was a prime example of what could go wrong.
Someone like the Nether Moon master possessed more sides to them than could be counted, what if... Although the two eighth ranks felt that he wouldn’t be as bold as Orchid Forest, just what if...
See how badly Red Moon is suffering right now!
The Human King’s words stabbed straight to the heart. I’ll let him go if you guys come rescue him! So... are you going to rescue him or not?
The two eighth ranks looked at each other. They weren’t going to rescue Nether Moon! But, they did want a share of the spoils. The situation had changed at this point. Three seventh ranks and one eighth rank were being struck by lightning. Could they not come in for a portion of the loot?
Should it all go to the Human King?
“Human King, we are all masters of our worlds,” boomed the Light master. “Why run them down? Nether Moon is under my protection!”
The power of Light swept through the world, churning toward Fang Ping!
The look in the Human King’s eyes chilled—he knew that the other didn’t necessarily wish to save Nether Moon, nor did the Light master intend to make an enemy out of him. The other had clearly seen an opportunity to benefit from the situation.
The Orchid Forest master had created an opportunity for everyone—a chance to eat meat!
A seventh rank master of the world was notable to an eighth rank master of the world. Although one might not be able to devour the dao universe and Skyward, a seventh rank would contain unending dao strength and dao comprehensions.
They would gain a rich harvest if they killed one!
“Human King, they are all chaos wanderers, so why hunt them to the ends of existence?” The Skycloud master’s eyes darted around. “It’s only Red Moon who has a feud with you...”
He struck as well, shooting straight for the master of Cold River. This one’s mine!
The two eighth ranks had spontaneously come to an agreement. We don’t dare accept anyone now, but we can kill them and force an integration between their worlds and ours. Can they come back from the dead?
Everyone has a decent eye for character in the chaos. In that case... we’ll kill them!
Tremendous battle erupted in a heartbeat. The Human King grunted and didn’t say anything. It would be very difficult for him to collect anything from this particular situation now. Well, there was one thing he could have...
He whirled around and charged the Red Moon master!
To hell with it all! It’d be best if he could kill the Red Moon master today. If not, he wouldn’t let that little bastard have an easy time of things!
Fighting flared on all sides. The Orchid Forest master was attempting to weather his tribulation, a feat more difficult than the clashes around him. There were also some exalted emperors eyeing him covetously from the surroundings.
Numerous seventh ranks had entered the Skyward dao universe. The others were being targeted by some eighth ranks or those such as the Human King. Only Orchid Forest remained unscathed. And so, some seventh ranks swiftly materialized around him.
The Waterpeak that Fog Mountain disliked from before was among their number.
Although the Orchid Forest master had blocked one tribulation thunderbolt, he’d suffered grave injuries from it. He wasn’t as strong as the Red Moon master or even the two seventh ranks. When the eighth rank tribulation descended upon him, it harmed him so badly that he vomited mouthfuls of blood.
He would clearly be unable to defend himself if attacked at this juncture.
Seeing that the Orchid Forest master was unable to withstand his opponents and might die here... the Human King hesitated for a moment. As the Human King of New Martial, he had an obligation to eliminate enemies of his world. A great enemy was right in front of him. There was still a chance to kill the Red Moon master.
But...
The New Martial Human King was domineering, tyrannical, and peremptory. He was considered a hooligan, thug, and ruffian of the chaos.
But in reality, those who understood him knew that he had risen to his position in New Martial through the support of countless people. The reason for their support was one—his loyalty!
He didn’t know the Orchid Forest master. Strictly speaking, they were enemies as he’d killed their master of great dao.
At the same time, the Orchid Forest master had turned on Red Moon at a critical moment today and killed the Skywave master, causing the other exalted emperors to be struck by a chaos tribulation.
A long blade swept through the void, severing heaven and earth!
“Get out of here!” snarled the Human King. He’d decided to forgo the Red Moon master.
The Red Moon master turned and ran, not desiring to further entangle with the Human King in the slightest. He fled toward the depths of the dao universe, thunder and lightning pursuing him. The Human King snorted coldly and didn’t give chase.
“Piss off! That buffoon Red Moon is an eighth rank. You lot will have your chance if he ends up gravely injured from the tribulation! For you guys, ascending to eighth rank is your true fortune! Orchid Forest is under my protection!”
He swung his blade, blasting Waterpeak across the way. The woman had been angling for an opening to attack Orchid Forest. The blow brought up a mouthful of blood. She paled and ran off!
The other exalted emperors in the shadows gaped with shock!
He’s so strong!
They scattered, some chasing after the Red Moon master and others melting into the shadows. The Light master directed a meaningful glance at Flare Sun. The latter vanished in the Red Moon master’s direction.
Deep Sea also received instructions to keep an eye on the Red Moon master. Since the New Martial Human King had chosen to give up his quarry and hang back on defense, then this was their opportunity!
The two eighth ranks had reached an accord. They would eradicate the two seventh ranks in front of them first, then brainstorm a way to handle the Red Moon master. Eliminating one major enemy would be just as well!
The Orchid Forest master looked at the Human King with surprise. “Why... are you doing this?”
“They’re just a bunch of petty thieves!” snorted the Human King. “What’s there to fear about them? Just focus on your tribulation. An eighth rank tribulation is strong, but you just need to survive a portion of it yourself. I can smash through any residue!”
No one could weather another’s chaos tribulation on their behalf. However, the Human King did seem to have this ability. He was also one of the few exalted emperors in the chaos who’d endured a chaos tribulation.
The Orchid Forest master fell silent. His understanding and knowledge of the New Martial Human King was deepening today. The Red Moon master was the Human King’s arch nemesis. If he could exterminate this great foe on this day, then he would save New Martial a great deal of trouble.
And yet, he chose to relinquish that chance for someone he had no relationship with. That was because he was the Human King!
He wasn’t the Human King of all people, just of New Martial. The principle he’d adhered to during his rise was that all debts must be paid, and as swiftly as possible!
The Human King stood in the void, long blade in hand. He didn’t say a word as he struck, shattering Skywave’s struggling dao mark!
This seventh rank master of the world didn’t even have a chance to complain before he vanished from existence. That was because... he didn’t know what to complain about.
The alliance of great dao had become the death of them! And yet, they’d been delighted about it when they signed it. They felt that they would all be on the same side after entering the alliance, that the Red Moon master would not dare devour them. Who would’ve thought... that this would happen instead?!
The Human King didn’t move after killing the Skywave master. He simply looked quietly in two different areas. There, the eighth ranks could easily kill two seventh ranks undergoing a chaos tribulation. It was clear to see that neither of the eighth ranks were bringing their full strength to bear.
Perhaps they were on guard against each other, or perhaps they were concerned about depleting too much of their resources. They dragged their heels for a while before executing the two unwilling masters of great dao.
“Light... you despicable, shameless pig!” The Nether Moon master raged bitterly before he died. Damn this all! He hadn’t died to the Human King, but to the Light master instead!
The Light master was entirely unmoved. He was a good father in Void’s eyes and a good liege lord to the Light citizens. He was also a good brother to Flare Sun...
But in Nether Moon’s eyes at this moment, he was a demon!
Did the Light master hate the Nether Moon master?
Not at all!
It was simply that he’d seen a chance to strengthen himself and it would only go to someone else if he didn’t seize it. That person would become a future rival, even if they weren’t one now. In that case, he would kill the Nether Moon master himself!
This was not an issue of ethics or morals. It was just as Li Hao had said—Light was often painted as the villain in stories. They were not on the side of good. How many of those in the chaos were good?
Of the four seventh ranks that’d come with the Red Moon master, three were dead on the spot. There were three less masters of the world over the span of a day.
The Human King stood as an unmoving mountain; he didn’t collect anything for his presence. He simply stared frostily at the two eighth ranks in the distance. When these two cleaned up the battlefield, they’d absorbed the fallen’s dao strength. Their dao universe had not appeared in the process.
Clearly, the dao universe was with their major worlds.
“Human King, are you interested in... joining hands against that one?” The Light master chuckled as he looked at the Human King. “An eighth rank tribulation may not be able to kill him. An eighth rank exalted emperor is formidable in battle. The three of us acting in concert can ensure the elimination of a major enemy!”
They could kill the Red Moon master themselves, but they were concerned about unexpected developments occurring in the process. They didn’t want to let the Human King benefit from their efforts!
That guy was a seventh rank, but he truly rivaled regular eighth ranks. He could kill seventh ranks in the blink of an eye. Under normal conditions, a peak seventh rank wouldn’t be able to kill a peer in the blink of an eye. Fog Mountain counted as an exceedingly strong exalted emperor, but he could not manage the feat either.
