Star Gate-Chapter 1425: The Chaos and Past (II)
A figure as resplendent as the blazing sun spoke from one end of the grand palace on Red Moon.
“Let it be!” His voice was a bit wispy. “What else can we do about the Human King of New Martial courting death? He has countless pursuers after him now, so the most pressing need is to kill him outside of Red Moon. We cannot let battle break out within our territory!”
The Human King was already a formidable opponent to contend with, not to mention the incredible pursuers after him. And since the latter was convinced that Red Moon was colluding with New Martial to devour the major worlds around them, those pursuers might end up eradicating Red Moon major world alongside the Human King!
The master of Red Moon wouldn’t care if there was only one or two heavyweights to grapple with. He wouldn’t have raised the banner of war if that was sufficient to deter him. The key was, the New Martial Human King had provoked at least a dozen of these existences. He’d created plenty of trouble out of nothing at all!
The Human King rampaged through the chaos without fear and restraint, as if he was the strongest in all of existence. Even the Red Moon master sometimes wondered if he’d actually formed a pact with the Human King. Are we actually working together to kill other heavyweights and seize the chaos for ourselves?
Otherwise, where does this lunatic get the confidence to stand against so many others with just New Martial behind him?
“I sensed the death of Bone Eclipse yesterday.” The Red Moon master pivoted to another topic. “Bone Eclipse was part of the contingent of exalted emperors that attacked New Martial’s vassal world, Silver Moon. All of them perished. Only Bone Eclipse made it into Silver Moon and disappeared alongside the minor world!
“His demise was located in the north of Red Moon. Silver Moon originates from Yin and Yang. The minor world follows the New Martial Ash Emperor through the chaos and its whereabouts are impossible to pin down. If we are able to locate Silver Moon, perhaps we will be able to lock onto Yin and Yang to lure the Human King back. He cannot be permitted to wander the chaos like this, it is impossible to track him!”
The Red Moon master’s voice echoed majestically with hints of helplessness.
When Red Moon attacked Silver Moon, the Sword Sovereign sent the minor world flying with a flick of his sword, due to the intense battle that broke out near it. The tiny world had vanished in the chaos. Although Red Moon wished to search for it, the Human King came for them before they could.
Battle preparations were made for an epic clash and then... Red Moon waited. And waited. They waited so long that New Martial brought their war to Elysian Fields instead.
Once the conflict at Elysian Fields was more or less over, the Red Moon master felt that it was time for their war to finally commence. But the Human King disappeared again and showed up in another world.
One thing led to another, resulting in the Red Moon master waiting for a very long time! Whenever he felt that war was imminent and mobilized his powerhouses for it, he always ended up not even seeing a shadow of his enemy.
The more he reflected on the situation, the more resigned he was.
Was New Martial’s Human King truly a lunatic, or was he just lost, like their supreme said? But who would believe that he was actually lost?
The Red Moon master didn’t believe it, in any case. However, New Martial also provoked so many strong enemies for no reason at all.
All of the major worlds in the vicinity were berserk with fury and wanted to ally together to kill the Human King. They counted Red Moon in the same camp as the Human King, to which the Red Moon master felt immensely innocent.
Red Moon invaded numerous factions due to its strong desires. It had its reasons and excuses for doing so.
For example, it might lure the other side into going on the offensive first, create traitors in the opposing world so that they would voluntarily accept Red Moon rule, antagonize their target, or any other matter of pretext for warfare. They would never go on the attack without justifiable grounds.
The Sun God invading Red Moon had been their rationale for attacking New Martial.
After all, the chaos was so vast and the worlds within innumerable. The other major worlds wouldn’t idly sit by if a world went on the offensive without an acceptable cause. Meanwhile, the Human King used the same excuse from beginning to end, damn it. He was just lost and looking for the correct way!
“Does our king mean to search for Silver Moon again?” asked another heavyweight. “But contact has been lost with that minor world for many years. Not even New Martial has been able to locate it. Perhaps it severed the connection with Yin and Yang a long time ago. Since the Human King is close to us at the moment, is there a need to find Silver Moon?”
If that connection was broken, then that place wouldn’t even count as a minor world. What was the point of seeking it out?
If New Martial didn’t think much of it, then neither would Red Moon. There was no point in devouring a place that didn’t even count as a minor world! Such a place could barely produce an exalted emperor. Too much time and effort was required to find it. It wasn’t worth the expenditure, not to mention that they might encounter the Human King at any time...
Well, this potential encounter had dragged on for many years, but they’d never really come across the Human King.
It was maddening!
After so many years, neither the Human King came to them nor did they find him. When Red Moon changed tack to look for New Martial instead, they couldn’t find that major world either. The entire civilization had disappeared into thin air!
At times, the others wanted to give up the conquest. There were many worlds in the chaos, they didn’t have to keep their eyes on New Martial. But it wasn’t up to Red Moon anymore. New Martial hoisted the banner of seeking revenge on Red Moon while it stirred up trouble in all aspects of the universe.
But if Red Moon were to withdraw now, that would give credence to the accusations that they’d colluded with New Martial to invade the other worlds.
“There’s still a need to find Silver Moon,” said the Red Moon master after some thought. “As weak as Bone Eclipse is and as much as he lacked a connection to the Red Moon great dao, he was an exalted emperor at the end of the day.
“And yet, he died in Silver Moon. There was indistinct thunder and lightning at the moment of his death. That might have been a chaos tribulation!
“Chaos tribulations only occur when stunning treasure appears or the order of the chaos is disturbed. When the New Martial Human King sought to reverse life and death and bring back those who’d fallen in battle, for example, that incurred a chaos tribulation.
“Silver Moon does not even count as a world, so how could Bone Eclipse have drawn the attention of a chaos tribulation? Something must have occurred within it, or a stunning treasure has appeared, or someone who defies the heavens. Perhaps a dao universe has materialized or the world’s status has risen...
“Silver Moon stems from New Martial, they are from the same breath and branches. If we seek to eradicate New Martial, then Silver Moon needs to be annihilated as well! Not to mention, the death of an exalted emperor is a challenge of my Red Moon.
“If they have not fully severed their ties, then we can use Silver Moon to reverse the connection, invade Yin and Yang, and force the Human King to go home!”
The group had originally thought there was no need to expend too much effort on Silver Moon. But after learning about a chaos tribulation, some were tempted.
While this world wasn’t even a minor world, it originated from New Martial, after all. Any treasure that might appear within it would be quite the find. Yin and Yang was not a weak world.
The power to reverse life and death was not one possessed by many major worlds. The Human King bristled with sheer strength and didn’t have much in-depth knowledge of the great dao, but he had a strong grasp of the world and the method to reverse life and death.
Perhaps Silver Moon had inherited a thing or two from him.
“My king, we are willing to mobilize and probe the surroundings!” A heavyweight spoke up, accepting the mission. There wasn’t much danger involved in this task, they just needed to avoid triggering the chaos tribulation.
Bone Eclipse’s death was due to his own weakness. He’d died within Silver Moon, cut off from the Red Moon great dao. That had greatly reduced his battle strength, so no one was particularly concerned about his death.
“That is acceptable!” The Red Moon master nodded and considered the speaker. There wouldn’t be much of a problem if this person went. While he wasn’t the strongest among them, he wasn’t weak either.
So long as they didn’t randomly antagonize the chaos tribulation, a mere Silver Moon was no problem to explore. Not to mention, one couldn’t run into a chaos tribulation just because they wished to.
The others in the hall didn’t say anything. To them, even an ultimate treasure wasn’t useful for much under ordinary circumstances. Of course, it would be different if Silver Moon birthed its own dao universe. That was reserved for major worlds—Silver Moon didn’t even count as a minor world.
“The guardian stationed at Silver Moon is the Sword Sovereign of Yin and Yang,” someone said. “He is adept at the sword and his skill is marvelous. He killed the master of a mid world thirty years ago, fully eradicating his opponent! I wonder if the Sword Sovereign will set forth now that Silver Moon has reappeared. If he does, we must be careful!”
The one who’d accepted the mission twitched when he heard the warning. He did indeed need to be careful!
“That is of no matter!” said the Red Moon master. “According to what I know, the Sword Sovereign entered closed door cultivation after destroying a world thirty years ago and is devouring its energy. There has been no sign of him to be found. Perhaps he’s digesting his gains and is far away from the confines of Silver Moon...”
That was for the best!
The person designated for the mission heaved a sigh of relief. While the master of a mid world was not as frightening as the master of a major world, the fact that the Sword Sovereign had eradicated the master of any world was still terrifying.
This was not a character he could afford to run afoul of.
The group briefly discussed their plans. This powerhouse would follow the clues and visit the northern reaches of Red Moon first.
Coordinates were disorderly in the chaos and hard to pin down. But since the Red Moon master could sense Bone Eclipse and Silver Moon, that meant the world wasn’t too far away. It should be within the range of Red Moon universe. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to sense anything.
The world was to the north. It should be easily located after some effort.
......
At the same time.
A world appeared in a distant locale of the chaos, hovering in and out of sight. It was like a star embedded in the void, surrounded by a thick layer of tribulation clouds on the outside. There was a door on the outer perimeter that prevented any of the clouds from seeping through.
It was the Star Gate!
Silver Moon was originally a dim, lackluster world that was an insignificant speck of dust in the chaos. But now energy from its surroundings surged in. Chaos tribulation clouds obscured it, casting it in a different light.
The entire world was like a sword as it shimmered with silver luster.
There was no sense of time in the void. When the tribulation clouds covered Silver Moon, a massive beast far away seemed to sniff something. It was the size of a planet and followed the scent to see some thin rays of light.
Chaos energy was surging around it, indicating that it was a world about to ascend.
The beast was confused. Ascension? In a place like this?
This was Red Moon territory. Under normal conditions, worlds wouldn’t choose to ascend in this locale. It was supposed to be dangerous beyond compare because the Human King had journeyed through it over the years.
Was it an uncivilized world making its first ascension?
That would make sense, since the world was unaware of the dangers lurking in the chaos. Haphazard ascension was the path of destruction for many worlds.
The gigantic beast turned around, flying toward the speck of light. Its speed was terrifying, but indescribably slow in the grander picture of the chaos. A distance that wasn’t really all that long counted as a particularly long stretch of space to travel through.
The giant beast had wanted to visit another location, where some major worlds were preparing to form an alliance against their enemies. It wanted to join in the fun, not kill the New Martial or Red Moon masters. It didn’t have the strength to accomplish such a feat. But no matter who died, a battle between powerhouses was an opportunity for those of them who wandered through the void.
They could take advantage of the opportunity to invade a world, devour corpses, or others to break through.
