Chapter 19: After Awakening, My Skills Became Overpowered (2)

Hinata’s hand covered his mouth. It was not as though he was shocked by the ability itself. Truthfully, he had already anticipated something like this. What he had not expected was for it to happen so soon.

If at only ’Hazard rank’ he could make lies become reality, then what would happen after he evolved goblins to their peak? Would he not become an untouchable existence?

It was then that the true essence of the Extractor finally clicked in Hinata’s mind. While others stood as powerhouses of a single race, he would embody several at once. By all rights, this ability could make him up to thirty times stronger than anyone within his rank.

Hinata clenched his fist. Only then did he notice he was not wearing any clothes. He immediately got to his feet and began searching for his ring.

After more than a minute of searching, he still could not find anything.

"Did awakening eat up all my treasures?"

Hinata was about to grimace at his loss when a strange sensation crept up his spine.

He moved through the hut again until he found a cracked mirror in a rundown room. Ignoring the fracture, he turned his back to it and tilted his head to catch his reflection.

Just as he suspected, strange runic symbols with a dark purple glow lined each of his vertebrae, while a dark purple dragon tattoo stretched across the rest of his back.

Hinata felt an unspoken connection to the symbols. He focused on them for a moment. Instantly, his consciousness was pulled into an empty black space.

Within that space were his pack of jerky, flask, toiletries, and the black storage box. However, his clothes, gauntlet, and even the ring were nowhere to be found.

Hinata stared into the void. When he spoke, his voice echoed endlessly. "Is this the slime?"

As if waiting for that realization, a system notification appeared before him.

[Tier 7 (Overlord): Evolved Slime King]

[Description: After absorbing most of your items, the Slime King has evolved. You can now create weapons, clothes, and other materials. Each creation can be given a specific attribute based on what the slime has absorbed. This slime can also function as a subspace that the user can physically and mentally enter.]

"That’s useful."

Hinata stretched out his hand and formed a staff. As expected, a system panel appeared over it.

[Choose attribute]

[Extension. Kinetic Absorption. 2x Attack. Temperature Change. Find Target/User.]

Hinata’s gaze lingered on the options. At first, their meaning escaped him, but when he recalled the missing items and their properties, he let out a quiet sigh.

"So that’s it... It can grant created objects the attributes of whatever it absorbs."

He dismissed the staff, though not before experimenting further, adjusting its form and even its colour, which worked without issue.

With nothing else to do inside the space, he withdrew his consciousness and returned to the hut.

In front of him stood Goku, fully awake and staring downward. "That looks like a baseball bat."

Hinata pinched the bridge of his nose. "What are you even talking about? And why are you staring at a fellow naked man?"

Goku’s expression remained blank. "You should have worn clothes first. But I suppose you wanted to show off an extra weapon. And don’t classify me as a man. I’m like an AI, neither male nor female."

"Get out."

"Oh?" Goku tilted his head slightly. "You don’t believe me?" He nodded twice before speaking in an exaggerated tone, "Oh~ Hinata-kun~ oh~ dame~!"

Hinata clenched his jaw, irritation rising. Perhaps it was because Goku lacked a gender, or perhaps it was the mockery of his language itself.

Without fully understanding Mana Master, Hinata instinctively let a portion of his mana leak out, blanketing the room in a dense purple mist.

For a brief moment, Goku thought he saw a demonic figure looming behind Hinata within the haze, its blood-red eyes fixed on him.

He did not hesitate. In an instant, he shot out of the room at full speed.

With Goku gone, Hinata relaxed.

His control over mana had become far more refined, and he now had a basic grasp of most of his abilities.

With a thought, he summoned the Endless Flask. After taking a few gulps of water, he moved to a corner of the room, broke through the wall, and began washing himself.

The bath did not take long. Despite his lingering fatigue, Hinata soon dressed in a simple outfit: a loose black shirt with the top buttons undone, black trousers, sleek shoes, and black gloves.

Standing before the mirror, the young man studied his reflection and smiled faintly.

"I won’t lie... I’m quite attractive, aren’t I?"

He formed a purple hairband from the slime and tied his hair at the nape of his neck. His eyes had turned a dim shade of purple, faintly glowing whenever he used mana. He assumed this was normal, considering Albedo’s eyes had done the same during their fight.

Now fully dressed, Hinata stepped out of the room and quickly located Goku, who was lounging on the throne.

The moment the serpentine dragon saw him, it darted over.

"So, where are we going now?"

Hinata paused at the doorway and glanced back once. "Well... I think it’s time we head to a human settlement, don’t you?"

Goku nodded. "Yeah. Still feels strange leaving this forest, though."

Hinata turned forward and began walking. As he stepped out of the hut, a gust of wind swept past, causing his clothes to billow and his hair to shift slightly.

"Well, I can’t say I feel much. Though..." He smiled faintly toward the distant path leading to the chamber where he had first arrived. "I won’t forget my first hellhole."

Goku floated alongside him as they made their way out of the village. "Tell me about it."

The moment the two of them stepped out of the goblin village, the system panel showing the map appeared in Hinata’s vision.

Since he didn’t have a guide leading him to the next town and he didn’t want to follow the path he had seen after coming out of the shadow god’s chamber, he decided to use the map and the Navigation skill to complete his journey.

From the map’s geography, he could tell which places looked most like a city. And not too far from where he currently lay was one such place.

’I guess lady luck really favours me.’

It was just one tiny step in this vast world, but at the very least, he was now not only stronger, but more sensible about it.

Maybe, just maybe he could truly find a way back home.
