Chapter 65: The Shadow Guardians. (3)

A black and stormy cloud materialized right above Lloyd, moving threateningly.

As soon as the boy saw the cloud, he knew what the shaman’s spell consisted of.

You didn’t have to be a genius to know it was going to create lightning. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

However, Lloyd wasn’t intimidated by the cloud.

While lightning was very dangerous, there were also many ways to protect yourself from electricity.

In a few instants, Lloyd summoned the swamp of gluttony, making the mud under his feet envelop him.

He manipulated the mud to give it a rubbery consistency, seeking to replicate the insulating properties of rubber.

When the lightning fell on him, he was already protected.

A rubbery armor had enveloped him, protecting him from the lightning with its insulating properties.

The electricity dispersed in the air without doing any harm to the boy, making that last attack completely useless.

"Nice try, but unfortunately for you, it will take much more to defeat me," the boy commented arrogantly, while the mud that enveloped him returned to the swamp.

The goblin didn’t seem happy when he fell to the ground, but he had no time to lament, because Siegfried was already attacking him again, trying to cut him in half with his gigantic two-handed sword.

The blade traversed the air and descended toward the ground with dangerous speed, but the goblin managed to summon a gust of wind in time to be expelled from the attack’s range before being hit.

"How slippery he is, even without his mount he’s not an easy opponent," Lloyd commented while watching how the goblin escaped again from one of Siegfried’s lethal attacks.

That goblin was very agile for a shaman.

While Lloyd said that, the shaman was already acting.

With speed he moved his wand, manipulating the shadows that were previously part of the panther.

Suddenly, the goblin’s body mutated.

It became taller, its limbs longer.

Several mouths appeared on his back and shoulders, something that didn’t give Lloyd a good feeling.

"I think it’s time to finish," the young man affirmed, however, the goblin suddenly disappeared.

Or rather moved extremely fast, appearing right in front of him.

If it weren’t for having Leviathan’s pupil active, Lloyd wouldn’t have seen the shaman’s fist coming, which was moving at extreme speed toward the boy’s jaw.

Lloyd wasn’t fast enough to dodge the attack, however he could move his own head in the direction of the punch, thus deflecting the blow’s force, or at least part of it.

Before the goblin launched another attack, Lloyd got ahead, summoning from his feet ice stakes that came out of the floor threatening to impale the goblin.

The shaman jumped backward, but right there Siegfried was waiting for him, already attacking him.

The goblin had jumped right in the direction Siegfried’s attack was heading, so it was almost impossible for him to escape this time.

Or at least that’s what Lloyd thought, however, the goblin had something prepared.

The mouths on his back and shoulders conjured a spell, each mouth pronounced a fragment of the spell to complete it in an instant.

Upon doing so, the earth transformed, a rock column grew under the shaman, lifting him from the ground high enough for him to get out of Siegfried’s sword attack range.

The sword hit the rock, breaking it to pieces.

The shaman jumped while conjuring five fireballs which shot toward Lloyd and Siegfried.

Lloyd acted quickly, he used his elemental arts and summoned a gust of wind seeking to disperse the flames, but unfortunately, that wind only fanned the fire more.

Before being hit, Siegfried threw himself over Lloyd, becoming armor, thus protecting him from the powerful fire.

The fireballs exploded against Lloyd, who fortunately was covered by his armor.

With speed, the boy jumped backward, emerging from the flames while conjuring his ice magic generating a blizzard that extinguished the fire, and went at great speed against the shaman.

That blizzard spread a dangerous frost which extended across the ground and rock, also threatening to completely cover the shaman.

However, he with overwhelming speed moved away from that cold wind, conjuring more fireballs that twisted in the air to be able to dodge the blizzard.

Lloyd hurried to conjure two walls of thick and dense ice on the sides, thus blocking both fireballs, which exploded in an explosion of flames that threw debris against Lloyd.

"Tch, you’re becoming annoying, little piece of shit," Lloyd growled, inside the armor, while lowering his arms and touching the ground.

Suddenly a series of ice stakes began to spread across the ground at great speed right behind the goblin, who was trying to get away and hide in the shadows.

However, since he activated Leviathan’s pupil, Lloyd didn’t need light to see in the darkness.

Therefore, trying to hide was useless.

The shaman kept conjuring spells, his ominous voice resonated throughout the entire cave.

Meanwhile, Lloyd made the ice stakes explode, leaving only a frost road in front of him.

"Heh," Lloyd laughed, with a malicious smile drawn on his face behind his armor’s helmet.

The young man threw his hands backward and expelled a powerful gust of air, shooting out at full speed.

Lloyd skated on the frost, gaining incredible speed in barely an instant, traversing several meters in less than a second.

That surprised the shaman, who didn’t expect Lloyd to gain so much speed suddenly.

The boy took advantage of that speed and propelled himself upward, throwing himself against the shadow goblin and launching a powerful punch to the face with all his strength and precision.

The shaman went flying, bouncing multiple times on the floor from the blow’s power.

Though even bouncing on the ground, the shaman continued reciting that spell, without any rest.

The mouths scattered across his body continued the spell’s incantation, which surprised Lloyd.

"You don’t give up, eh?" the young man asked, when suddenly, a strange sound began to sound from above.

A cracking sound, like rock breaking.

The boy looked up but it was already too late.

"You’ve got to be kidding me," Lloyd managed to say, while the ceiling collapsed on top of him.
