Chapter 59: Goblin Hunting. (1)

"I hope this works," the boy commented with some nervousness while starting to summon Gleipnir’s chains.

They were dark purple chains, which gave off an ominous aura.

Lloyd manipulated them to give them the shape of a spear, but instead of a blade at the tip, there was a kind of hollow.

"Alright let’s see if it works," Lloyd pronounced calmly while summoning the primordial flames at the tip of the spear.

The idea was quite simple, seal the monstrous power of the primordial flames to be able to avoid being damaged by using them.

Or at least cancel out a bit the repercussion the flames as such would cause.

In an instant, the area’s temperature increased considerably.

Red and yellow flames appeared at the tip of the spear, giving off infernal heat.

Lloyd had only summoned a few, but in an instant they had tripled in size, trying to escape from that kind of prison of chains.

Fortunately they didn’t manage to escape, and simply stayed at the tip.

"Fabulous! It worked," the young man said with a smile on his face, he didn’t have too much hope, but apparently his plan had worked.

He had managed to conjure the primordial flames, but summoning them hadn’t completely exhausted him.

Though it also didn’t mean it was easy, he noticed how his energy was drained at great speed to keep the flames alive.

"Enough," the boy said, while stopping supplying energy to the primordial flames, and they disappeared.

Upon doing so the boy also undid the chains.

The boy sighed relieved, maintaining the primordial flames was without doubt easier but it didn’t mean it was easy either.

"Mmmm, the truth is I’d like to test that new attack, but how?" the young man thought aloud.

The first thing he thought was to ask for a training combat with Alice, or perhaps Sköll and Hati.

However that idea vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

Primordial flames weren’t a game, they were very dangerous.

It was better to refrain from using them in a friendly combat, since they could leave irreversible damage or even kill the target.

Even if he was sealing their power with Gleipnir, it didn’t remove the element’s dangerousness.

"Maybe against Sebastian?" the young man asked himself while stroking his chin and reflecting.

Sebastian was more powerful than the girls, and obviously also more powerful than him.

Perhaps testing them in a friendly combat with him was a fantastic idea, after all Sebastian was very strong.

"No, better not," the raven-haired young man concluded.

While it was true Sebastian was quite strong, the butler had also overexerted himself in the last combat he had.

He was old, Lloyd suspected older than his eye of envy had shown him, so that also played against him.

Moreover, while in that state Sebastian was still a monster, Lloyd didn’t want to risk it.

The very nature of primordial flames was dangerous even sealed, they could even make irreversible wounds.

It wasn’t something to be used against allies.

Not even in a friendly combat.

If Lloyd wanted to use it, it had to be against someone whose death didn’t matter.

"Mmm, should I wait to see if the assassin guild attacks? Or debut the attack with Bernard?" the boy asked himself.

Though he was excited to use that lethal combination of Gleipnir + primordial fire, if he wanted to use it on someone he should wait.

He didn’t know when the assassin guild would attack again, and it was still a while before assassinating Bernard.

It was a complex matter, though Lloyd sighed, reaching the conclusion he should wait to test his new toy.

Or so he thought.

[Side Mission: Finish off a goblin camp - 0%]

{Reward: Green Star - 2,500 V.P}

Lloyd was surprised at that notification, it was very convenient, perhaps a sign.

The problem was he didn’t know where there could be any goblin camp.

In fact, it would be strange if there were goblins in the beast-men’s territory.

"Though I don’t think they gave me this mission for nothing," the jade-eyed boy deduced.

It was too convenient and the system never acted just because.

It was very likely there was a camp within his reach, if not, the system would never have given him that mission.

Lloyd stroked his chin.

"But how do I find that camp?" the boy asked himself curiously.

It’s not like he could travel at random until finding the supposed camp.

He needed the exact location.

The boy sighed while listening to the tree leaves dance and the birds sing.

"Huh... That’s it! I’ve got it," the boy then exclaimed with a smile.

An idea had occurred to him.

The young man quickly summoned Gleipnir, catching some birds around him.

Then, he introduced the birds into the swamp of gluttony.

The young man then decided to use the material he had inside the swamp.

While it was true he barely had matter to mold, matter he had obtained from the bodies of assassin guild members and some animals, however he didn’t need that many either.

"Ummm, maybe instead of birds I should create another," the boy questioned himself.

After all the amount of matter he had available was limited but the area he wanted to observe was very large.

The boy remained thoughtful, when then he remembered that red cloud that had attacked Sebastian and the rest of the group.

Beelzebub’s flies.

That gave him a very interesting idea.

The young man began to create inside the swamp multiple small flying insects.

"Yes, I think that’s a good idea," the man said with a satisfied smile while a large cloud of insects was created.

The viscous black-colored insects came out in a burst from the swamp that had extended from his feet.

This cloud shot out at great speed and began to travel through the entire forest, spreading like a plague.

"Yes, this should work," the boy said calmly while the cloud of insects spread.

They had the ability to communicate with each other and observe their surroundings, that meant they could easily cover the entire forest.

If there were goblins they would find them.

"I suppose now I just have to sit and wait for them to find something, I hope there really is a goblin camp like the mission says," the raven-haired young man said while watching the great mass of insects move away.

The hunt had begun.
