SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 222: New Quest Available
Chapter 222: New Quest Available
When Damon logged into the game, he immediately got a string of notifications.
[Ding! New Quest Available: Soul Strength]
Damon hurriedly clicked the quest, and just as he suspected, he had received a quest that resulted in improving his soul strength. Quests like this were at least S rank, super rare quests in his last life, but this one was nothing like it. It was just a basic quest.
[New Quest Available: Soul Strength]

Word has spread that the eccentric Alchemist Garaya has uncovered a hidden vault containing ancient soul-forged herbs, ingredients once thought lost to time. Objectives:
Visit Alchemist Garaya (0/1)
Increase favorability with Garaya to "Friendly" or higher (Current: Neutral)
Complete one of Garaya’s experimental requests (0/1)
Rewards:
Soul Elixir: +2 Soul Strength
Damon exhaled through his nose, scanning the quest. This was as simple as a quest could be. It was basically solvable by everyone. The system might as well be handing out +2 soul strength to every Tom, Dick and Harry at this rate.
And then it struck Damon. Maybe that’s exactly what the system was doing. It was simply adjusting the balance that had been disturbed. Thanks to mana being shoved into their world a lot sooner than it was supposed to happen, literally, the entire world was now vulnerable and weak.
The system, ever cold and pragmatic, was not in the business of charity. If it was suddenly allowing people to strengthen their souls, one of the most protected and high-tier forms of progression, it meant only one thing. It was trying to bulk up the population like how a doctor might hand out antibiotics before a viral outbreak.
Damon shuddered to think of the future, beyond the mana integration and beyond the game merging with the real world. What was going to happen after that? Were demons and gods going to enter their world? Would the system still maintain balance even then?
For some reason, he had a feeling that would not be happening. If this was a sort of tutorial period for them, then when the real deal hits, everything was probably going to change.
He stared at the bustling streets of Garth City for a moment, watching players and NPCs go about their business, completely unaware of the storm gathering over their heads.
Most would probably rush to complete this quest, excited at the chance to power up. Few would question why such a gift was being offered in the first place. Fewer still would think about the implications.
Damon’s expression darkened as he closed the quest window. His mind raced through a dozen possibilities, each worse than the last.
He closed his eyes, steadied his mind for a moment, and calmed down. Shit was definitely going to hit the fan but there was no use panicking over it. He needed to stay calm and prepare. That was all he could do.
Damon knew he wasn’t like other players. He had a powerful ability. He had a unique chance here. He had the power to completely turn the tables. Even if Gods and Demons did enter the world in the future, there was even a slight possibility he could become as powerful as them.
Damon knew he was reaching more than he should, but there was no other choice. He had to become as powerful as that demon. One way or the other. There was simply no other choice.
"Uncle, I am here." A cute little fluff ball bounded over to him and hugged him tightly, snapping him out of his thoughts. Lola twirled her two braids playfully and did a little skip and a dance. Damon turned to see everyone from his family arrive one after the other, including Georgina, who was weirdly silent.
Damon’s heavy thoughts briefly melted away as he watched Lola hop around him like an overexcited squirrel with too much sugar in her system. She clung to his leg and looked up with bright, sparkling eyes that were entirely too innocent for the world they were stepping into. "Did you get stronger again, Uncle?"
Damon let out a soft chuckle, crouching to ruffle her hair. "Maybe a little," he said, his voice warm despite the stormclouds still looming in his mind.
"Damon..." His mom worriedly called.
"Right, how did everyone settle into the castle? I know the design is weird-"
Anderson quickly interrupted him. "Everything is wonderful, son. We have absolutely no complaints at all. We all know you are trying your very best to keep us all safe. If you need any help from us at all, please let us know. Other than that, we will not be pestering you for anything."
Anderson then gave everyone a look that made Damon’s mother reluctantly swallow her words.
Damon chuckled lightly. "It’s okay, guys. Don’t be so serious. Everything is fine. This is just me being paranoid and trying to be prepared in advance. Anyways, did you all get the new quest?"
Everyone nodded.
"I suggest you all try to finish the quest as soon as possible. It is going to be crowded as shit and everyone is going to be farming for the same thing but do it. It is for your own benefit."
"Damon, you are not going to join us?" Anderson asked.
"No. I have some things that I need to take care of first. You guys go ahead first, and then maybe tell me a shortcut to do this thing." He laughed casually and waved goodbye.
"Don’t worry, brother. I got this. I will make sure everyone gets the quest done." John gave him his assurance as well.
Damon quickly bid farewell and left Garth City to get back to Niera City. The small matter of improving his family’s soul strength was now automatically solved. This was the only small upside of that whole madness.
