SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 192: A second treasure?
Chapter 192: A second treasure?
"What the..." Now Damon was even more confused. "Yes?" He kind of answered, wondering what the hell it was. Probably some treasure he had managed to snag at the last second?
The good thing was... this meant that there was no La Rocha waiting to wipe him out. He looked around and even focused with his senses and confirmed that there was no one around for miles and miles. That was that, and the Chapter was over.
He had even managed to come out on top from the whole disastrous exchange with a world spirit and some sort of artifact to boot.
The moment Damon accepted the artifact’s binding request, a wave of unfamiliar golden light washed over him. The chill of the frozen wasteland receded for an instant, and time seemed to pause.
[Ding! Artifact ’Null Sanctum Sigma-9’ has accepted host Blood God.]
[Ding! Establishing Partial Access...]
[Ding! Error]
[Ding! Error]
[Ding! Error]
Damon frowned. He then had a thought. Usually, when binding a weapon or other types of artifacts, the method of using a drop of blood to form a connection was common.
He glanced at the golden crystal in his hand and then pricked his finger with his nail to let a single crimson drop fall onto the surface of the crystal. The moment it touched, the gem started pulsing violently.
[Ding! Attempting to establish Partial Access...]
[Ding! Error]
[Ding! Error]
[Ding! Success]
A low hum reverberated through the frozen air as the golden gem glowed brighter, its smooth surface fracturing for a brief instant like cracked glass before sealing back together. A small tendril of golden light extended upward from the core, wrapping briefly around Damon’s wrist like a curious vine before fading into his skin.
[Ding! Partial Access Granted]
[Access Level: Peripheral Control (Rank 1)]
[Bound User: Blood God]
Then, another window appeared.
[Ding! Primary Core remains sealed. Full Synchronization requires restoration of the item spirit.]
"Item spirit?" Damon immediately thought of something but quickly rejected the idea. There was no way that something like that could possibly be true? As he was mulling over it, Azuna, who was silently standing near him, spoke up.
"Master, may I initiate the binding ritual now?"
However, before he could answer a bolt of crackling ice came at him, almost impaling him right in the chest. Even though he was immersed in his thoughts, Damon noticed it and dodged it easily.
As for who threw that at him... Damon’s eyes turned cold as he turned to look at the two guys walking towards him or rather towards Azuna. He did not like the look on their faces, with their eyes glued onto Azuna’s body. Their gazes betrayed the thoughts running in their heads.
Damon immediately took out a spare set of gear and threw it at her. "Wear this. Give me a couple of seconds. It looks like I have to deal with some pests before starting the binding ritual."
Azuna cocked her head weirdly at the clothes but she looked at others wearing them and started to put them on one by one with an amused expression on her face. She looked like someone who was seeing these things for the very first time in her life.
How is that possible? Damon wondered but at least she seemed intelligent enough to know how to wear it.
Robert and Mendoza gritted their teeth in annoyance as they watched the interaction. Their eyes never left Azuna, now glowing faintly in the dim white light of the frozen field, her aura foreign and enthralling in a way even the most beautiful women could not match.
"Dibs," Mendoza growled under his breath.
"Shut it," Robert snapped, stepping ahead. "What do you think you are doing vampire? A guest of the Frozen Throne need not wear such cheap clothes. I have here the best robe suitable for our esteemed guest."
Robert flashed a handsome smile and politely offered a set of clothes for Azuna. Just from a glance everyone could see that these were epic tier items and perhaps even formed a full set. Many guild members gaped in shock as they could only dream of possessing such a full set.
However, Robert casually handed it over to Azuna as if it was nothing.
Azuna blinked slowly, her fingers pausing over a pant leg as she turned to Robert, inspecting him with the curiosity one might give a talking rock. Her gaze wasn’t malicious, but it was eerily blank like she didn’t see a person, just noise. She tilted her head to the other side, the half-buttoned shirt slipping off her shoulder again as she blinked twice.
"I already have clothes," she said softly. "Master gave them to me."
The simple statement struck like a slap across the icy wasteland.
Robert’s smile twitched. "That man is not your-"
"You interrupted my ritual," she cut in, still staring, voice still gentle, but something behind her words made Mendoza take a step back.
Damon took that moment to walk forward. His bare feet didn’t even crunch the snow anymore, his mana pressure had become so thick it repelled the cold itself. The fire lance he held shrank down, condensing into a swirling orb of blood-red flame that hovered lazily beside his shoulder.
"I’ll give you one warning," he calmly said. "Leave. Right now. While you still have the ability to walk."
Robert’s eyes gleamed with a cold arrogance. "You really think we’re afraid of you?" A cold aura seeped out of him and the trident on his hand started glowing. Just his mere aura made all the guild members standing around them tremble.
However, Damon did not even flinch. One side of his lips pulled upwards into an arrogant smirk as he stood calmly. "I guess you are not taking my warning then." His gaze then briefly landed on Sylvara who quickly scrambled out of the bloody mess she was standing in.
"Robert, stop it right this second. What are you doing? Have you lost your mind? Are you openly attacking our ally?"
