Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 662 - 642: His Indulgence is a Candy Injection
"I heard you talking to Auntie Li just now. You don’t like it, so I don’t like it either."
Jiayi was taken aback and rubbed Little Baozi’s little head, "Mommy doesn’t dislike it."
She didn’t like children getting involved in adult affairs.
"You just don’t like it, don’t lie to me. That Aunt Xiaolei is clinging to Daddy, so you don’t like Aunt Xiaolei."
Something seemed to strike Jiayi’s heart. Although the blow was weak, a mere touch, the echoes resonated incessantly in her heart.
It took her a while to calm down. She pouted and changed the subject, "That’s not true. Besides, Aunt Xiaolei isn’t clinging to your daddy, she is your daddy’s cousin, and it’s normal for them to be close since they rarely see each other."
"Hmm, if it’s normal, would Auntie Li ask Mommy to send Aunt Xiaolei away?" Zaizai hummed.
Jiayi really didn’t know what to say to Zaizai anymore; Little Meatball’s eloquence and logical thinking were enough to outpace her.
Zaizai then asked weakly, "Mommy, if Aunt Xiaolei comes, will she take Daddy away?"
Jiayi couldn’t help but chuckle, "Daddy is yours, nobody can take him away."
"I’m not talking about me," Zaizai was quite confident in himself. It was Mommy he was worried about, "Will Daddy ignore Mommy because of Aunt Xiaolei? I don’t want Daddy and Mommy to keep fighting. Fighting leads to divorce. I don’t want to go back to being a single-parent family."
His tone was very serious, but Jiayi found it impossible to laugh. After a long moment, she spoke subconsciously, "Don’t worry, that won’t happen."
With that, Zaizai felt much more relieved and blinked his big eyes, "Don’t lie to me."
She forced a smile, tucked Little Baozi in, turned off the light, and walked out of the room. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

After settling in Disheng, Xiaolei would go to the entertainment company every day. Being new to the industry and just signed, the work she got involved only some commercial ribbon cuttings and dinner parties, and at most, some catwalks.
She landed these gigs thanks to her Eurasian features being in demand. If it were another newbie who had just signed, they would still be waiting for work.
So, Xiaolei’s job was relatively easy, and most nights she could be home.
The bridal shop was in its busy season with orders flying in like snowflakes, and it was becoming increasingly hectic.
Recently, the shop landed a new deal.
A TV drama set in the Republican era was about to start filming, and they needed a batch of qipao for the female actors in the crew, currently selecting manufacturers to collaborate with.
The director happened to be friends with Ye Yongning.
Ye Yongning casually recommended F. Wang, but knowing Jiayi’s wishes, he didn’t mention that the shop’s owner behind the scenes was the mayor’s wife.
F. Wang was already renowned, and on hearing Ye Yongning’s glowing recommendation, the director immediately arranged for the purchasing head of the crew to negotiate a collaboration with the Yunling Shop of F. Wang.
Based on the TV drama’s requirements, Jiayi worked overnight with the shop’s designers to finalize several qipao designs and sent the sketches to the crew for review.
After receiving approval from the crew, Jiayi had her assistant pass the sketches to the factory to make a sample of each style according to the design drafts.
This was the first time Jiayi was managing the shop, and also the first time dealing with such a big business order.
Although F. Wang already had a mature management system and a team to assist, she was still somewhat caught off guard. To avoid any mistakes, she spent several consecutive days practically living in the shop, sometimes not returning to Disheng until the wee hours of the morning.
Until this day, when the garment factory called to inform that the sample garments had been completed.
After the sample clothes were delivered, Jiayi was very satisfied with the results. The style, model, and color all matched her expectations perfectly, and the film crew would surely be pleased as well.
As long as she handed over the sample clothes to the film crew tomorrow and they had no issues with them, she could then notify the factory to rush out the rest of the cheongsams for delivery.
A significant matter was finally settled.
In the semi-open office of the store that night, Jiayi exhaled in relief. When she looked up at the floor-to-ceiling windows of the shop, the sky outside was again pitch black.
The store manager approached her, "Miss Chu, it’s getting late. I’ve put away the sample clothes, and I will deliver them to the film crew on time tomorrow. You should head back early to rest. You’ve been busy for several days; you even look like you’ve lost weight."
Jiayi was still not completely at ease, "I’ll go with you to deliver the samples tomorrow."
The store manager was taken aback, "There’s no need, I can manage by myself. It’s too much to ask Miss Chu to go personally."
Jiayi didn’t take long to decide, "This is the first big order I’ve taken on since taking over, and Uncle Ye recommended it. Going there personally will show my respect and sincerity to the clients and will also look good for Uncle Ye; we might even discuss the next collaboration."
It’s not like it would be a one-off deal. Having done it once, there would certainly be hope for a next time.
The store manager couldn’t help but nod. Indeed, he hadn’t expected that with Miss Chu having taken over not so long ago, she was already on the right track, becoming quite savvy.
However, the store manager was still hesitant, "But the outside world doesn’t know you are the secret owner of F. WANG. You are not just Mrs. Huo now, but also the Mayor’s wife. Going there, it’s hard to say if you might be recognized."
The store manager knew that Miss Chu didn’t like to deal with store business under the halo of being Mrs. Huo or the Mayor’s wife. That’s why even now, whenever she came to the store, she had them address her as Miss Chu. She also had the store staff sign a confidentiality agreement, forbidding them from casually revealing to outsiders that she was the boss.
"Don’t worry, we are only going to talk with the film crew’s procurement department tomorrow. We won’t have to interact with anyone else."
The manager thought it over and agreed, "That’s fine, then. I’ll go to the film crew with Miss Chu in the morning."
After arranging everything and with night having fallen, Jiayi picked up her handbag and left the store.
As usual, she hadn’t asked her driver to bring her to the store today but walked to the roadside to wait for a taxi instead.
The rush hour had ended, and it wasn’t the weekend, so there were only a few pedestrians on the road and the occasional car rushing by.
Under the speckled starlight, she gazed at the city’s night scene and unexpectedly, her gaze flickered slightly; her mind inappropriately conjured up the scene from the second day after registering, when that man had driven to F. WANG to pick her up.
She had been in a rush that day because she was going to meet Anya, but even now, she remembered when he had driven from the other side of the road, leisurely approaching, and the stirred feelings she had felt then.
His arrival had seemingly calmed her frantic emotions at that moment.
Yet at the roadside by the store tonight, it was lonely and cold.
He was not there, nor could he be.
The cool night air flowed into her throat, snapping her back to reality. She knocked lightly on her head with a curled fist.
What was she thinking? Was she longing for the times when he treated her like a princess and pampered her?
But the man’s indulgence was indeed like a sugary injection; it really did leave her with a feeling of nostalgia.
Thinking of his coldness these past days, her fingertips involuntarily curled, pinching into the flesh of her palm. She took a deep breath to reel back her scattered thoughts and continued waiting for a cab.
Her luck wasn’t great today; she had waited a long time without seeing a taxi.
When she finally saw one, Jiayi was about to get in, but a young couple rushed up and snatched the taxi away from her.
