Chapter 116: Chapter 116— Obtaining Information

After saying that, Cole looked to his teammates and observed their nod of approval.

"They will be getting it really soon," Cole continued.

"But how do you plan on doing that, the last time you were there you were forced to run," Laura asked.

"Leave that to us; we will be going there as a team this time," Cole responded.

Laura noticed the confidence in Cole’s face, so she decided to not press further.

"I will be leaving now; you guys should take care," Laura said while getting ready to leave with the kids.

Cole and the others watched her leave with a smile on their faces as they felt intense fulfillment.

"Ohh, thank you again," Laura said again after getting to the entrance.

Her words immediately made the group smile deeper.

The moment Laura completely left, the team grew serious again. As they looked at each other with great focus.

"We have completed our mission," Cole said, receiving nods from his teammates.

"Now we have to decide, are we returning to the academy now or meddling in the settlement affairs?"

Despite having what he wanted to do in mind, Cole knew he had to run things by his teammates since there was danger attached to it.

"Before we make our decision, let’s not forget that there’s an unknown power currently in the settlements."

After saying all he had to say about the matter, Cole kept quiet and waited for his teammates’ response.

"There’s no doubt in my heart; those people have to pay," Linda said resolutely.

Upon hearing her response, Cole nodded slightly and turned to look at Bryan.

Knowing Bryan’s nature, Cole was unsure if he was actually going to agree, and truly, Bryan wasn’t also sure.

The air grew awkward as the other two stared at Bryan, waiting for his response. To cope with the awkward air, Bryan immediately began rubbing his bald head.

After thinking for a while, Bryan’s face grew firm and resolute as he raised his voice to speak up.

"Though I am not really a fan of conflict, I think I will lend a hand in this," Bryan said.

"Hufff," a sigh of relief slowly escaped the other two’s mouths since all of them had to agree for the plan to actually work.

"Let’s head home and get prepared."

"We have the right person waiting for us back at home, don’t we?" Cole said with a smile.

The trio then left the building as fast as they could and returned home. Their steps were much lighter since they felt Burden lifting from their bodies.

In no time, they arrived back home and went directly to Mr. Evans’s room.

"Hello Sir," Linda said slyly.

Cole and the others followed behind her into the room. While they were coming back from their location. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Linda had volunteered to do the questionings since she was experienced with all of these things from her family background.

"What don’t they train you guys for in the family?" Cole asked rhetorically.

While in the room, the so-called Guard Leader, squirmed violently on the ground as if he had realized what was coming to him.

"Before we even begin the questionings, what are we going to ask?" Linda asked her teammates.

"We don’t really need much from him; we only need details of the routes guards’ groups take."

"The total number of Guards,"

"Let’s just say we need information on everything about their security section and also the strength of the settlement."

"That should be enough."

Linda’s smile deepened even more when she heard all of what Cole just said, since more questions equal longer torture.

She bent down and proceeded to remove the cover that was currently attached to the man’s mouth.

"I won’t tell you anything; there’s no way I will sell out my brothers like that," The guard leader shouted.

An evil smile formed on Linda’s face as she said in a slightly cold tone.

"Trust me. You will."

Cole and Bryan left the room to allow Linda to do whatever she wanted and returned to Cole’s room.

The moment they got to the room, Cole immediately plopped down to the ground while gripping his head.

That bout of cultivation was nowhere near enough for him to actually regain his full state, and despite all that, he still didn’t rest; instead, he ran all around.

Now that things were much calmer, the severity of his injuries finally came down on him.

"Are you okay, Cole? I knew you weren’t ready enough for all you were doing," Bryan said.

"I am fine; I just need to cultivate for a while," Cole responded.

"How much can cultivation change? you need to get some real treatment. I don’t think you should participate in tonight’s mission."

When those words dropped out of Bryan’s mouth, Cole immediately reacted as he turned to look at him menacingly.

"I must," he said in a commanding tone.

Bryan was slightly startled by such a reaction from Cole, so he quietly backed off and gave Cole some space.

Sitting on the ground alone now, Cole didn’t think of anything else. He just focused as best as he Could on cultivating.

Time flew by, and the more Cole cultivated, the better he actually felt, and by the time everywhere got dark, Cole felt ready enough.

"I should be able to move without any problems for now," Cole thought.

Opening his eyes, Cole saw Linda in the room, having finished the questioning and joining them not long ago, and not far away from her was Bryan.

Coincidentally, Bryan was staring straight at Cole in that moment, resulting in the two of them locking eyes.

The air immediately grew tense as the two of them stared at each other; it was obvious each had something to say.

"Just speak your mind already and stop acting like petty girls," Linda shouted from the side.

Cole sighed before speaking up and saying to Bryan.

"I am sorry for snapping like that."

"I am also sorry for pressuring you like that," Bryan responded.

"You see, that wasn’t too bad, was it?" Linda interjected.

"Now let’s go give them what they deserve," She said with a fiery gaze.
