Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station-Chapter 461 - 159: Assignment of the Mission, Sudden Assassination_2
Are you here to trade information or is there something else?
Chen Ming is currently pondering what information might be worth buying.
However, seeing Glasses in this state, he suddenly thought of a question, so he asked, "You just said you want to sell me more detailed information, right? What if it were someone else?"
Glasses immediately responded, "I would also say it can be sold."
"That’s what the boss demands, he says that if anyone wants your information, only the initial set is given. If they want more, they are to be notified directly."
"Then, if you paid, I’d say the information is significant, and you should contact the boss to get it directly from him; I really don’t have any extra information."
Chen Ming pondered for a moment over what Glasses said, and remarked, "I see."
Anyone wishing to access Chen Ming’s information would have the boss inquire in person, and only then decide whether to proactively disclose some information.
With that, Chen Ming didn’t dwell on his information further; knowing his information was well-protected was enough.
He told Glasses, "Then help me check if there have been any recent sightings of pirates with a bounty over fifty million."
"You sure?"
"Sure."
The fundamental reason why Chen Ming suddenly sought this type of information was that he’d always wanted to build his own fleet, and was in the process of doing so.
Chen Ming at this moment used his Spiritual Energy to glance over at the shipyard of the Space Station, where most of his ships were docked.
This was why the new director was targeting him, also one of the reasons Chen Ming previously agreed with the factory director to eliminate the director.
The reason the director was sweating bullets upon learning of Chen Ming’s return, besides Chen Ming having a good relationship with the factory director,
was also due to having previously set his sights on something of Chen Ming’s, and really intending to reach for it.
Even when obstructed by the factory director, he hadn’t given up.
Therefore, he was afraid, immediately seeking out the security and cyber departments after Chen Ming’s visit.
Of course, this matter had nothing to do with Chen Ming currently seeking pirates.
The reason Chen Ming now wanted to find pirates was simply to earn some pocket money.
And simultaneously test his fleet.
Chen Ming personally controlled each of the eleven ships docked using his Spiritual Energy.
There were the Refraction, Warrior Modified, and Torrential Rain, along with two military Centurion Level Heavy Guard Ships, which Chen Ming specifically had Old Wu purchase after earning some money.
Additionally, the company recently as a breakup compensation, provided one Armor Piercing and five Hammerheads.
Seven destroyers and two frigates—a slightly strange configuration.
Normally, for a standard fleet, unless it’s a main fleet, the ship count ratio should ideally be one to two or one to three upward.
For instance, ten destroyers paired with twenty or thirty frigates.
So Chen Ming still needs to find a way to augment this number.
But the seventy billion he has on hand needs to first be used to purchase industrial equipment, it cannot be used casually.
Therefore, Chen Ming plans to fall back on his main job temporarily to earn a bit to fill the gap for new ship expenses.
If there’s any money left after buying the equipment, then he’ll consider using it to buy ships.
If he can simultaneously test his fleet’s strength while earning money, it’s clearly more suited to his current situation than just making money.
This also has always been Chen Ming’s mindset.
Although he already has a large amount of Dusk and Dusk Spaceships, forming a fleet seems unnecessary.
But he doesn’t want to abandon this matter halfway.
In Chen Ming’s mind, the colonies belong to the colonies, his own belongs to him.
Although both are his, he feels it’s best to keep them a bit distinct.
Actually, he previously considered requisitioning a few ships from his Dusk Fleet temporarily, intending to return them once he had enough of his own ships.
But another reason he didn’t do this was that previously these fleet ships primarily served to transport cargo.
So a majority of ships in the fleet were for transportation, with only a small part designated for combat.
Chen Ming’s originally planned combat fleet had right before his last retreat been engaged by a Dusk main ship, resulting in a total wipeout.
The colonies in the Border Star System had also been in chaos, so he couldn’t, filling this lack of combat power wasn’t something he could manage at the moment.
The remaining stationed fleets ideally shouldn’t be moved, trying to maintain their combat effectiveness as much as possible.
He would truly regret it for a lifetime if something went wrong due to the combat power of the warships Chen Ming took away.
The Dusk were truly his current actual assets.
Moreover, Chen Ming’s own fleet only has to face pirates, truly not lacking a few Dusk ships.
If the pirate fleet is weak, and he can manually control and use Spiritual Energy, he could steer a Torrential Rain and obliterate an entire pirate fleet.
But Chen Ming doing so would completely defeat the purpose of testing.
So he needs pirate intelligence with a bounty of at least fifty million and plans to only command rather than personally engage.
Unless he can’t win.
However, after eliminating the previous issues, there remains another problem awaiting Chen Ming.
Many of these pirates are backed by sponsors afterward, and very few genuinely started grassroots and are still pirating.
This is why Glasses asked to confirm if Chen Ming was sure about finding this pirate intel, wanting to know if Chen Ming was aware of this fact.
