Chapter 454: Chapter 157: Numerous Affairs_3

Chen Ming thought about the time point the director mentioned and said, "That was when I first joined the company, right? Do you mean to start from the beginning?"

"Pretty much."

"Now that you’ve mentioned it, when you look into the company’s records later, are you saying you want them transferred to our Galo-2 Star District Government’s talent pool, or directly transferred to Old Wu?"

"Old Wu has a colony in this star zone, officially certified to transfer over. I asked Old Wu, and he has no objections."

Chen Ming suddenly interrupted, "Wait a minute, can it be transferred? I remember the Star Zone Military had issued a warrant for me before, right?"

"The last time I checked, even though the military was taken over by the Fourteenth Legion, it seems the warrant was never removed?"

The director waved his hand and said, "It’s not that serious. It’s been so long. The Fourteenth Legion long ago had the warrant taken down for you."

"For now, you’re still in your original situation as a company employee, so the company, fearing it might be troublesome for you, is proactively saying they’ll help you resolve this identity matter."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ming couldn’t help but say, "Why weren’t they this proactive helping me before?"

"It’s the company, after all. Nothing they do surprises me. They go wherever there’s a benefit."

"The company previously causing trouble with the Battle Zone after acquiring Sky Steel didn’t get anything out of you. Naturally, they wouldn’t play along with you."

"But it’s different now. You’re alive and well, plus you have the backing of the Fourteenth Legion."

"And your Spiritual Energy has begun to show real results, especially with that Dusk Cruiser. This ship alone has led to the board of directors holding several meetings lately."

"Previously, the chairman wanted to support you but was opposed by the board of directors."

"Recently, most of the meetings have been the chairman venting against other members, alongside discussing how to mend the relationship with you."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ming shook his head. Despite the company’s extremely accommodating attitude, he had no intention of mending the relationship with them.

Purely interest-based relationships are never long-lasting.

When his value could no longer outweigh others, the company would probably cause more trouble.

Though confident his abilities make his value unrivaled,

such relationships just weren’t something Chen Ming wanted to bother maintaining, so forget about it.

Chen Ming did not respond to the director’s words.

The director understood Chen Ming’s meaning and continued to wait for his response to the earlier question.

Chen Ming then took out a terminal and checked his identity profile.

There were some changes from the last time he checked. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Previously, the profile ended at the Mining Space Station, staying there for thirty years.

Only recently were a few more segments added.

The gist was that Chen Ming had been in cryogenic sleep for thirty years, then was taken back by the company, joining one of their research institutes, where he completed significant research on Antimatter Technology.

The profile glossed over the less favorable parts of Chen Ming’s actual experiences during this time.

If Chen Ming decided to move his files, two more lines would be added:

Terminate the contract with the company and later join another organization.

Chen Ming glanced at it and then closed the profile, asking the director, "Does it matter if this is transferred or not?"

"It really doesn’t matter, but the company’s higher-ups intend to help you clean the slate, as if to manage the relationship with the company from scratch."

After hearing the director’s words, Chen Ming finally made a decision: "Then just hold onto it for now. It might be convenient if I need to enter and exit the Space Station in the future with this identity."

"If possible, move my profile to this Space Station’s company."

Of course, Chen Ming had another reason for doing this beyond what he stated.

The Pirate Space Station was his first foothold upon returning to the Human World and the one where he stayed the longest.

Leaving a profile record here gave him a sense of readiness to return in the future.

The director had no objection to this: "That works. It’s your decision. However, the company’s higher-ups might be quite pleased."

"You better tell them not to rejoice too soon; I’ll be on my way soon enough."

The director spread his hands and said nothing, simply pulling a few documents from a drawer and handing them to Chen Ming.

"What are these?"

"Take a look yourself."

Chen Ming picked up the documents and leafed through them, finding that they needed his signature to complete some previously missing procedures.

These documents would finalize his profile, transfer the files, and confirm his contribution to the Antimatter Research.

Because this research on Antimatter Technology involved government awards for significant scientific achievements.

This confirmed for Chen Ming that the reason Sinda Corporation had made the Antimatter Technology public, allowing the Fourteenth Legion to obtain the results early, was due to a government mandate.

The government had required Sinda Corporation to disclose it, providing the company with ample rewards and compensation.

Primarily, it was the honors, status, and, most fundamentally, money.

Of course, for the institute and the company, there were also government investments and similar incentives.

As someone who signed his name to the Antimatter Research, Chen Ming naturally could receive some of the rewards.

But for the moment, Chen Ming only really needed money.

As for honors, those were assured once his name was on it.

Regarding status, this encompassed both social status and actual standing.

Social status was relatively unimportant.
