Chapter 50: A New Objective

"Amelia, I didn’t give you permission to speak... be quiet."

"But father..." she started, her voice trembling slightly, but she didn’t move.

He gave her a sharp look, then turned his attention back to Minato. "Speak up, young man."

Minato felt the weight of the entire room pressing down on him. He swallowed, gripping his hoodie a little tighter at his side, making sure his head stayed lowered, a sign of respect rather than defiance.

===================

[DING]

[HOST HAS MET WITH THE DEMON LORD OF DAMNATION]

[CEDRIC ALEXANDER EARHART]

[TITLE: MONARCH OF DAMNATION]

=======================

In that moment, Minato understood fully... every word he spoke now carried immense consequences. One wrong sentence could end his life instantly. He inhaled slowly, steadying his racing breathing, and prepared to answer.

"Sir," he began, his voice steady though his chest raced with immeasurable fear, "I... I am Minato Katana. I came into contact with Amelia in my realm by chance, but since then, I have stood by her side in everything. I have protected her with my life and kept the secret of her being a vampire from the rest of my people. I intend to continue helping. I ask only for your permission to remain by her side."

Minato bit his lip, unsure if his words had been appropriate. Speaking like a noble for the first time felt cringe, awkward, and forced.

Amelia, standing slightly behind him, blushed a little at his declaration.

"Are you kidding me?" Minato murmured quietly to himself.

The Demon Lord’s eyes narrowed, scrutinizing Minato with an intensity that made him swallow his saliva hard. The room was quiet except for the murmuring of the three women Amelia hugged when she first came into the chamber.

"You do know who I am, don’t you?" the Demon Lord asked, testing whether Minato was lying about being from Earth.

"No, sir... I don’t, but by the looks of things, I would say that you are the one in charge of the place." Minato replied, keeping his tone innocent. The system, however, had already informed him of the truth.

Minato bowed lower.

The Demon Lord chuckled quietly, a hint of approval in his eyes. "Good. I like him."

"I am the Demon Lord of Damnation," he declared, his voice carrying an undeniable amount of authority. "Some may call me the Monarch of Damnation. I am the ruler of the Continent of Blood."

Minato exhaled, lowering his head further, though tension was still on both his shoulders.

"I still have two more questions," the Demon Lord continued.

Minato raised his head, eyes widening.

"It’s not over yet?" he thought to himself...

"First, how can you use our Vampiric abilities?"

Minato was speechless; he could not tell them that the system grants him the Abilities of any of his Familiars.

Amelia stepped forward. "Father, I gave him my blood and made him a half-vampire."

In that moment, Amelia was like an angel for taking the blame... Even though it was a lie, it’s not far off from the truth; he was now a half-vampire and a half-elf... Thanks to the system making them his Familiars.

"Amelia, why would you do that?" Lucas shouted from the side.

"Silence!" the Demon Lord commanded sharply, cutting Lucas off, before continuing his speech.

"Second question: Who is that elf lady?"

Minato’s heart skipped a beat. Radelia’s weird smile hinted she might reveal too much. He prepared to activate body control, but before he could, Radelia bowed by herself and calmly answered, "I am also his companion."

The Demon Lord studied her carefully, then nodded. "Looks like you are a trustworthy person."

Minato exhaled briefly, relief and exhaustion washing over him. His heart, which had nearly leapt out of his chest, began to slow down.

The Demon Lord leaned back slightly in his chair, his sharp gaze softening as he regarded Minato. "I thank you, Minato Katana, for taking care of my daughter. It is not often that someone earns my trust so quickly."

Minato inclined his head respectfully. "It is my honor, my lord."

The Demon Lord paused for a moment, then asked, his tone measured, "Now, tell me... do you wish to return to Earth, or would you like to remain here a little longer?"

Minato opened his mouth to respond, but before he could, a system notification appeared in his vision...

=======================

He blinked, reading the notification carefully, then exhaled. The weight of the new system task pressed on him, but he made his decision.

"I... I will stay for now," he said finally, his voice steady, resolved.

Amelia, standing beside him, felt a small thrill of happiness at his choice, but she carefully controlled her expression, keeping her smile subtle.

"Good," she murmured softly, her eyes meeting his for a brief moment before looking away, concealing the relief and joy she felt inside.

The Demon Lord observed the exchange with a raised brow but said nothing further, letting the decision hang, before standing up from his chair and exiting the chamber.

Immediately, Amelia ran forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Minato in front of everyone still in the room.

"Just how much do you care about this human?" one of the three women Amelia had been hugging asked, stepping closer.

"He’s not a human... Deborah!" Amelia replied with a lie again, clutching Minato even tighter.

"Do you think you can fool us? I can smell his blood... Father probably knows, but he just decided to spare him because of his relationship with you," the woman said, her tone firm but curious.

"There is no need to lie."

"Even you, too, Elizabeth," Amelia shouted playfully, glaring at another sister.

A calm voice came next. "Pleasure to meet you. I know it’s a bit late, but thank you for taking care of my daughter."

Amelia turned to see her mother extending her hand. Minato stepped forward and shook it politely. "No problem, ma’am. Your daughter has also been of help to me."

Slowly, both of Amelia’s sisters approached.

"I’m Elizabeth Alexander Earhart... Amelia’s older sister," the one with black hair declared, her tone formal.

"Deborah Alexander Earhart... I’m also Amelia’s older sister," the other said, looking slightly away.

Minato smiled quietly to himself, taking in how composed and beautiful all three women were.

Suddenly, a voice came from outside the door. "Let me in... I want to see my fiancée."

The door opened, and a young man in his mid-20s stepped inside.

"Oh my goodness, Amelia, my love! Where have you been?" he exclaimed, rushing toward her.
