Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Marrying Me Quickly Is Good for You

Listening to Caden Lockwood’s words, Evelyn Morgan really wanted to pry open his brain to see what he was thinking.

Was her attitude of resistance not obvious enough?

"I will not marry you," she spoke out resolutely.

Caden raised an eyebrow and casually uttered something that made Evelyn feel like she was being choked: "You already did."

Her breath hitched, Evelyn’s gaze froze.

That marriage certificate, could it possibly be real?

"How is that possible!" She stomped her foot anxiously, "That marriage certificate can’t be..."

"For such a huge enterprise like The Lockwood Family, a slight arrangement like this is hardly a difficult task, isn’t it?" Caden’s tone was profoundly deep.

She blinked, not wanting to accept some of the real information he conveyed.

He stared at her and continued to speak, "You were the first woman to hire me, shouldn’t you take responsibility?"

A wave of awkwardness passed over her lips, making Evelyn’s entire face go stiff.

She regretted her wild assumptions back then.

How could she have mistaken such a Young Lord for a Cowherd? Was she out of her mind?

"What exactly happened that night?" She voiced her doubts, "Why do you never deny your identity? And why must you marry me? I can’t play your rich people’s games, and I don’t want to get a windfall from you. Could you please return my freedom, let me go?"

In her view, they could completely part ways in the simplest manner, without further entanglement.

"Too late." Caden tapped Evelyn’s small nose, relaxing his body comfortably, softly saying, "Madam, I’ll help you get used to being a wife soon."

"You can’t decide this on your own!" She grabbed him as he was about to leave, speaking angrily, "This is coercion! I have human rights! How can we marry just because you say so? Even if that marriage certificate is real, I still want a divorce, a divorce!" 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She didn’t care if it meant being divorced twice.

All she knew was, this was simply too ridiculous!

How could she be "married" without her knowledge?

She had never heard of such a thing in her life.

"You could try to find which lawyer in all of Atheria would dare take on your divorce request?" Caden spoke arrogantly, "If Madam doesn’t want to go back and move her things, then don’t. I’ll prepare everything new for my precious wife."

It seemed like he was teasing her, a slight smile on his lips, but the earnest sparkle in his dark eyes made it hard to discern truth from falsehood.

Evelyn took a few steps back; for someone like Caden, who was impossible to deal with by force, she could only rely on her wits.

Suppressing the panic that came with suddenly becoming Caden’s wife, she had to make herself single again.

"Uncle, I’ve just turned twenty. I’m too young, we are not suitable," she tried to find reasons to convince him to divorce.

Caden glanced at Evelyn’s proud figure in front of her chest, and said in a deep voice, "Not young."

Upon hearing this, Evelyn’s cheeks reddened, all the blood rushing to her head.

She immediately covered her chest to prevent exposure, shouting, "I’m talking about my age! Age!"

"Wasn’t I talking about age?" Caden raised an eyebrow, a deep meaning flashed in his black eyes.

Patting her little head, he continued, "In this world, it’s hard to find a man who’s outstanding in all aspects. Meeting me and marrying quickly is a good thing for you."
