Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 75: One Day, You’ll Fall into My Hands
Watching Caden Lockwood’s cool and swaggering back, Evelyn Morgan made a grimace, upset at how she still had to live under his magic claws.
She pulled out two yuan from her bag and angrily wrote: You arrogant big demon king, one day you’ll fall into my hands!
Placing the money neatly on the coffee table in the living room, she flashed a satisfied smile, turned around, and went to the kitchen to keep busy.
Caden Lockwood stood on the second floor, overlooking everything on the first floor. Because of the presence of Evelyn Morgan, the place brimmed with life.
The decor was still the same, the furniture hadn’t changed at all. Had he changed, or was she the reason everything felt different?
He chose not to ponder the answer; life at present was quite comfortable.
After dinner, Evelyn noticed that all she did was wash a few dishes, and her uncle was already nowhere to be found.
Usually, he’d be lying on the sofa watching TV, and would still ask her to peel fruit.
Today, did he change?
She ran to the second floor to search but found no one.
She couldn’t help but dart to the third floor.
Still no one.
A small staircase at the side of the third floor led directly to the rooftop.
She leaned closer and quietly asked, "Uncle, are you there?"
"Come up," Caden’s voice was cold.
Evelyn puckered her lips and went up, exclaiming at the sight that met her eyes, "Oh my! It’s so beautiful!"
The rooftop was like a tiny café, exquisitely decorated, with warm yellow lights shaped like butterflies, arranged in a cluster, flickering as if flapping their wings.
Looking up, she could see many stars; the visibility was excellent.
"Like it?" Caden raised an eyebrow, "Come and sit."
Evelyn nodded, only then looking at Caden. He was reclining comfortably in a massage chair, looking very at ease.
Beside him, there was another empty massage chair.
"Is this part of the employee perks?" Evelyn laughed as she walked over and sat down, "It’s amazing!"
"Then come every day," Caden said casually, as if it were the most natural thing.
"Me?" Evelyn pointed at herself, "How could I have such good luck! Not only do I have classes every day, but I also have to look after you."
She glanced around, noticing a cup of tea by her side, and thought it must have been prepared for her.
Sometimes her uncle could be quite nice when he’s in a good mood!
Feeling a warm glow inside, she picked up the teacup and drank without hesitation.
Caden’s eyes faltered slightly, and then a gentle smile spread across his face.
She was indeed thirsty, having drunk over half the cup.
"So delicious!" she exclaimed, "Even better than cola! Uncle, what kind of tea is this? Is it very expensive?"
"Perhaps it’s not the tea," he slowly commented.
Confused, she asked, "Then what’s the reason?"
Meeting her puzzled gaze, he softly said, "It’s because of the cup."
"The cup?" She grew more baffled, "Can the material of the cup change the taste of the tea?"
"It’s the cup I drink from," he said lightly, a statement that made her feel as if her throat was being clenched.
At his words, Evelyn was instantly dumbfounded.
Her lips awkwardly curled, and she hastily put the cup down, swiftly stood up, and awkwardly said, "I’ve done everything I need to do, I’ll head out now!"
"Sit down!" Caden’s tone carried a command that brooked no argument. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Evelyn’s face flushed with embarrassment; how self-absorbed could she be?
Why would she think that the tea in that cup was prepared for her?
She had already been self-indulgent twice today!
"Uncle..."
"I have something else to say," he coldly interrupted, quashing her thoughts of escape.
