Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 18: Did She Just Fall into His Trap?
Caden Lockwood stood in place, watching Evelyn Morgan with a face full of disarray. After sorting through his concern, he laughed even more wantonly, the laughter overflowing from his chest, rumbling, and exceptionally pleasant to the ear.
How long had it been since he laughed so freely?
For the joy she easily stirred up, he would no longer be surprised. His heart was joyous and satisfied, looking at her flushed cheeks, he found teasing her very interesting.
Knowing she was no match, Evelyn held back a bellyful of anger and walked inside. Seeing the villa’s décor, she instantly forgot the pain and anger from earlier.
Too beautiful!
The interior layout was spacious and bright in a modern style, simple yet not crude, luxurious but not tacky, making one fall in love at first sight, desiring to live there and never leave.
"How much would this cost!" Evelyn exclaimed, "Uncle, how many years have you been in this line of work?"
Caden raised an eyebrow, "Why? Thinking of becoming my colleague?"
Evelyn was taken aback, immediately clutching her clothes tightly, reacting loudly, "I absolutely don’t want that!"
"Then obediently do your main job." A deep look flashed through his eyes as he patted her head and said with a smile, "Household utility member."
"A housekeeper is a housekeeper! What’s with this ’household utility member’ joke? Does it sound more high-class?" she muttered in confusion.
He just looked at her, without answering, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepened, revealing a seductive allure.
She feigned busyness, glancing around, and said, "But the house is very clean today, no need for cleaning! Cooking at this time seems a bit early! Oh! Take off your suit! I’ll help you sew a small pouch for pills! I’ll sew one on every suit!"
"Aren’t you my utility member?" Caden sat on the sofa, arms crossed, leisurely looking at Evelyn, "Help me take it off."
"What!" She widened her eyes, face flushing red once more, "Uncle, you’re being unreasonable! A housekeeper doesn’t need to do such things!"
He arched his black eyebrow, seriously correcting, "You’re not a housekeeper, you’re a household utility member."
She was puzzled, beginning to suspect whether she was being tricked by him.
"What does a household utility member do?" she asked softly.
"Everything," he stretched, leaning back against the sofa, looking relaxed and lazy, "Now, start with a shoulder massage for me."
Evelyn stood in place, truly tempted to grab a throw pillow and smash it in his face.
"I only do housework!" she spat angrily, "For a massage, you can find a professional, should I help you make a home service appointment?"
Caden suddenly opened his eyes, staring at Evelyn, with a strong aura pressing forward, as if threatening her to listen.
She shrugged fearlessly, though afraid of the anger directed at her, she seemed used to it, immune even.
"I’ll go to your wardrobe to find a suit to sew a small pouch," she said as she headed upstairs, "Uncle, we live in a law-abiding society, intimidation doesn’t work!"
Looking at her fearless, pretty face, Caden’s palms itched, really wanting to pull her close and love her fiercely for a moment.
Unfortunately, if he did so, he would surely scare that girl away completely!
He wasn’t ready to sever ties with her just yet.
After waiting a long time in the living room without seeing Evelyn come down, Caden decided to go upstairs too. He stopped abruptly at the bedroom door.
Evelyn had taken out his suits and found the sewing box, carefully sewing the little pouches she talked about, needle by needle.
The soft black hair tucked behind her ear revealed half of her side profile, her gaze following the needle and thread closely, a slight smile at the corners of her mouth, sitting there quietly like an angel.
He couldn’t help but step forward. At the moment she looked up, a hint of panic flashed in his eyes, instinctively reaching out to tap her forehead.
"Ow——" she cried out in pain, rubbing her forehead, and angrily said, "That hurts!"
She had bumped into the wall earlier, and it was quite a hard hit.
Annoying!
He actually poked right at her sore spot!
Staring at her slightly swollen forehead, his sharp eagle eyes became even sharper, speaking seemingly carelessly, "You still owe two dollars for today."
[PS: I somehow feel Uncle is shy~]
