Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 116: Wanting to Be With Him Until We Grow Old
Looking at the few grains of rice left in Evelyn’s bowl, Aunt May felt a bit sorry.
"Sir," Aunt May said softly, "if you keep teasing the Young Madam like this, she’ll become skinny from hunger."
"Skinny is good," Caden Lockwood replied gruffly, "saves her from attracting bees and butterflies outside all day."
Aunt May couldn’t help but laugh.
Sir must be referring to the Young Madam’s proud, ample chest!
Caden Lockwood curled his lips, looking at the few pieces of sweet and sour ribs in the bowl, and finally turned to eat something else.
After he was full, Aunt May, understanding him well, added a bowl of rice, transferred all the ribs into it, placed the bowl on the table, and then, with a meaningful glance, returned to the kitchen to continue her work.
Caden Lockwood’s face was somber. Thinking of Evelyn’s big, watery eyes, he felt full of guilt.
Next time she’s eating, he won’t tease her. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The condition being, if he can hold back.
Sitting in the bedroom, Evelyn was bored, eating cookies to fill her stomach. The bedroom door opened, and her scalp tingled. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Caden Lockwood entering, and she got up, ready to leave.
A small arm was caught by a large hand, and she glared at him. Seeing the bowl of rice in his hand, her eyes instantly lit up.
"Want to eat?" His tone was condescending.
"What are you planning?" She looked at him warily, "I’m already full, I’m not hungry at all!"
"Then... I’ll take it to Kiki." Saying this, he took a step, ready to leave.
"Come back here!" She burst out angrily, "I’m your wife, even a contractual wife is still a wife. How can you not let me eat my fill? Do you know that I’ve been studying all day and I’m really, really hungry!"
Seeing her pitiful and aggrieved expression, his heart softened.
His palm was empty, and he wanted so much to touch the corner of her lips, as every part of her body intrigued and tempted him with deep interest and desire.
"Eat." His voice was low and hoarse, as if struggling to hold something back.
Evelyn pouted unhappily, took the bowl, sat by the table, and complained while eating, "Uncle, don’t bully people just because you’re strong. When you get old, so old that you can’t move well, and I’m much younger than you, I’ll treat you the same way!"
It was the weakest form of rebellion he’d ever heard.
Yet inexplicably, it made him burst out laughing.
How powerless must she feel to pin her hopes on him aging over time?
"Are you saying you want to stay with me until I grow old?" Caden Lockwood raised his tone, his voice full of deep meaning.
Evelyn was startled. Faced with Caden Lockwood’s question, she realized she’d unwittingly thrown herself into a pit again.
She shot him a glance, unwilling to speak to him any further, and continued eating.
Caden Lockwood’s gaze gradually softened, watching Evelyn. He decided not to tease her while she was eating.
But, what exactly was that thing she wrote about?
While he wasn’t paying attention, what had happened?
After Evelyn finished eating and let out a satisfied burp, Caden Lockwood handed her a glass of water, his actions natural and suave.
She took the cup without hesitation and drank more than half of it.
"Uncle, sometimes you’re really nice!" she commented with satisfaction, "But sometimes, why do you have to act so detestable?"
"Being good to you doesn’t bring any benefits," Caden Lockwood replied indifferently.
Evelyn pouted, "What do people like you lack? What more benefits do you need? Besides, what benefits can you get from me?"
Caden Lockwood lowered his eyes and lightly parted his thin lips, "Plenty."
Evelyn was taken aback, and involuntarily her thoughts went to physical matters.
Was it just her overthinking, or was he really that lewd?
She didn’t dare to look at Caden Lockwood, "I... I’ll go take the bowl to Aunt May for washing."
"Erin Morgan!" Caden called after her.
Evelyn halted her steps, turned back, and looked at Caden Lockwood, asking weakly, "What is it?"
Caden Lockwood furrowed his brows and coldly said, "Is there nothing you want to tell me?"
