Sleeping With The CEO-Chapter 339: By Name
Chapter 339: By Name
Emily had never liked Derek’s uncle. That much was an open secret. Back when she had been at Haven Group. She had not bothered to hide it, simply sticking to being professional, because she had not wanted to lose her job. But even then, her dislike for him, had never wavered.
They were oil and water. Two people who would never ever get along, no matter the situation.
All of that dislike for the simple reason that Sebastian Haven was a leech. Emily hated bloodsucking parasites with a passion. Be it the real ones. Or the ones like Sebastian, who seemed to take the fact that they sucked the life and joy out of everything as a compliment. In fact, her hate for him had not been because of just his soul sucking tendencies. Many things about Sebastian Haven had bothered her. Chief among them had been him viewing her as nothing more than an object.
Then there was also the fact that he had never even bothered to learn her name.
But now, Emily was realising that Sebastian not knowing her name had not been a bad thing. She had felt like those times had been some of the most irritating ones in her life. Moments when she had been forced to be in Sebastian Haven’s presence, despite the fact that she did not like him at all.
But now Sebastian was showing both Emily, and Derek that he could be a far more despicable human being, than what he had shown them in the past. His gun was aimed in their direction, his arm unwavering. Emily felt a new form of hate grow in her heart for Sebastian Haven.
He was no longer just Sebastian Haven the incompetent womaniser. Before her and Derek stood a murderer. The man who had killed both of their fathers. And judging by the cold look in his eyes, he intended to do the same to them. "Emily, cupcake," He said, and a chill went down Emily’s spine. She instantly wished to be back to the days when she detested the fact that he did not bother to know her name. Hearing him use it in such a familiar fashion made her all types of angry, and she could not help but snarl at him.
"There’s no need for such bad manners. You would not want to end up with extra holes in your body because you couldn’t control your face now could you?" He said it so simply, his tone light-hearted. Like he was not capable of shooting her then and there.
"Where was I? Oh yes, Emily. Be a dear, reach into your pocket, pull out your phone, and then do the same to my nephew as well. After that, I want you to slowly make your way towards me, and hand them over. You can do that can’t you sweetheart?" He winked at her like they were sharing a joke and Emily wanted to punch all of his teeth out.
"Monster," She hissed and Sebastian shrugged.
"That might well be but I am a monster with a gun. Now do as I say. Or I will kill my nephew in front of you so that you can watch him die slowly," Turning to Derek for the first time since the realization. Emily found him unnaturally still. It was as though his whole body had been carved from stone, and his eyes had gone arctic.
She had seen him angry before, but this was something else. Derek looked ready to just close the distance between himself, and his uncle in a single bound and just start tearing the man apart.
"Derek," She said softly, bringing a hand up to cup his cheek. He turned to her, the coldness thawing from him.
"I am sorry," He said, and Emily smiled sadly at him.
"You have nothing to be sorry for," Emily told him. Touched that he felt the need to apologize for something that was not his fault. Sebastian had killed both their fathers after all, and it was not like he had known. Taking his phone from him, she was just about to turn back to Sebastian when Derek grabbed her, and drew her into a kiss.
"I love you," He whispered when they broke apart. Emily whispered the same to him.
"I love you, Derek Haven," She said, the two of them looking each other in the eye. Tears streaming down their faces. Offering comfort in a situation where they knew that their end was near. Their moment together was shattered by Sebastian clearing his throat.
"As touching as this whole thing is. I would rather you guys die sooner rather than later. So hurry it up," He said. Walking over to Sebastian, Emily handed him the phones, doing her best not to touch him. Job done, she turned back to head over to Derek. Only to stagger as she was pulled back roughly. Sebastian’s grip on her upper arm, a painful one.
Emily let out an involuntary yelp, and Derek was instantly moving. His hands balled into fists. But then Emily felt the muzzle of Sebastian’s gun press against the side of her head, and she watched the terror in Derek’s face as he stopped moving.
"Take one more step, and I will make sure that you personally clean her brains off the floor," Sebastian sing-songed. And Emily watched as Derek visibly swallowed.
"It’s all right Derek," She told him. Trying to reassure him. He did not seem to believe her, but he relaxed a bit. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"How touching," Sebastian said, once again breaking the moment.
"Let’s get this show on the road. Nephew, lead the way. We are going back to your car," He said. And the three of them walked out of the warehouse. Once they arrived at the cars, Sebastian switched things up. He let go of Emily and grabbed Derek.
Keeping him in place with the gun against his head.
From there his instructions were simple. Emily would be driving Sebastian’s car, and Derek would be driving his own. And when Derek flashed the lights. It would be Emily’s cue to stop wherever it was that Sebastian wanted them to go.
Looking over at Derek, Emily returned the reassuring smile that he was giving her, and then she got into the car and started the engine.
