Sinner System-Chapter 586: Pocket Dimension
"Well, anyway, moving on from that...let’s check out this pocket dimension," I suggested, a sense of anticipation welling up.
<Alright>
<Just chant Treasury: Pocket Dimension>
<I set the chant myself, but you can change it if you want to>
"I don’t have a problem with it. You, Kai?"
"Nah, that works fine. Alright, then...<Treasury: Pocket Dimension>," I chanted, sitting up by the edge of the bed.
A vertical, rectangular portal opened up, about the size of a doorway, in front of us. It’s a lot longer and wider than the usual portals into the slots of Treasury.
"Come on, let’s go!" Grinned Aria, grabbing my arm and pulling me onto my feet as she hopped off the bed, before dragging me into the portal.
"Slow down, it isn’t going anywhere, you know," I replied with a wry smile, before pausing and glancing around as we entered the space.
Wow. This is awesome!
It was a large, wide space with a high ceiling, like an auditorium. The entire area was black with a dim, ethereal glow, it reminds me a little bit of the void I found myself in during my final conversation with Vaszel.
In the middle of the space by one of the walls, was a huge bed, and on the wall right across it, was a massive screen.
Aria bounded over towards the bed and flopped onto it, bouncing a couple of times before rolling around with a grin.
"Holy shit, this is incredibly comfy! Get over here, Kai!" She called out, patting the bed.
"Don’t mind if I do," I smiled, walking over and hopping on, the bed sinking under my weight before springing back up.
Wow, this really is comfy, I feel like I could just melt into this and drift off in no time.
<I downloaded a tremendous amount of data from the internet and uploaded it to the screen across the bed>
<And I can keep updating it>
<In other words, you can watch any movie or show, or play any game, on this screen, and it’ll all be up-to-date>
<Although, you can’t access the internet through it, I wasn’t able to pull that off>
<The control device for the screen is in Treasury>
<It can change forms between a remote or various different controllers, to suit the purpose you’re using it for>
"Nice, it’s like our own personal home theater, huh?" Responded Aria with a giddy smile.
<Furthermore, this place is self-cleaning>
<Every twenty-four hours, it gets rid of any dirt or dust you might track in when you enter>
<But that’s not all>
<It also has a time dilation function, think of it as a controlled version of the preservation effect of Treasury>
<At most, time can be dilated to the point where one day in here equals one minute outside>
<So, a year in here will be a little over six hours out there>
<Oh, and this time dilation can be applied both ways, you can also make it so that time passes slower in here than on the outside instead>
<Furthermore>
<This space can be expanded upto ten times this current size, and modified too>
<You can add more walls, form extra rooms, create furniture, and so on>
<And since you have an unlimited food supply in Treasury, you could conceivably live here forever>
"Well, I don’t know about that, we’ll probably lose our minds at some point if we stay here indefinitely. Still, though, this is so cool!" Grinned Aria, a bright gleam in her eyes.
"Yeah, this is incredible, Ai. How exactly did you even pull this off?"
<It happened after you consumed the Demon Lord’s Core with Drain and killed him>
<I don’t know exactly what it was, but it felt like something clicked, and I gained a better understanding of the dimensional nature of Treasury>
"Huh, maybe it really does have something to do with that void," I mused thoughtfully.
"Hm? What void?" Aria asked me.
Oh, right. I forgot to mention that, my final encounter with Vaszel.
"Well, after I consumed the Demon Lord, my consciousness met with his in a strange, endless void. According to Ai, my consciousness seemed to have disappeared for just a split second, but to me, that was about, like, five to ten minutes, I think, I had a whole conversation with the guy," I informed her.
"Huh, I see. What did the Demon Lord have to say? Bet he threw a tantrum," Responded Aria with a wry smile.
"No, not at all...he was annoyingly calm and wistful. I even tried taunting him to get a reaction, but it didn’t work. He simply accepted his defeat and faded away," I recalled with a sigh.
"Seriously? Yeah, that does sound pretty annoying. Well, at least he’s dead now," She replied with a slight huff.
"Yeah...huh, you know what I just realized? It’s barely been two years since we graduated from the Academy. Our graduation was at the end of 2168, and we’re still in the middle of January of 2171. We’ve only been Hunters for two years and a couple of weeks. So much has happened that it definitely doesn’t feel like it’s only been two years."
"Yeah, now that you mention it, it really hasn’t been that long, has it? I wonder, what will we do next? If the Monsters really are gone for good, raids are going to be a thing of the past...along with Hunters.
I mean, we’ve both made enough money to last us several lifetimes, which we’ll probably need since we’re immortal and all, and while it definitely is a good thing that the war is finally over, I just...I don’t know, it feels kinda bittersweet," She sighed wistfully.
"I think I know what you mean, things are probably going to change pretty drastically in the coming future. Well, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, let’s just take it easy and occupy ourselves with doing absolutely nothing productive," I suggested with a grin.
Aria paused for a moment, before she suddenly hopped onto me with a gleam in her eyes, grabbing my wrists and pinning me against the bed.
"I can think of a few things we can do...for starters, maybe we should go ahead and break in this new bed of ours?" She suggested in a low, seductive whisper.
"Hm...yeah, I think I can manage that," I nodded with a smirk, as she leaned down towards me...
