Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 656 - 655: Auction (6)
"If you don't have the resources then stop barking like a dog."
These words echoed in the silent auction hall and in the ears of every single individual.
So daring.
So arrogant.
So indifferent.
So demeaning.
This was the first time any of them had ever heard an individual addressing a citizen of the Supreme God Empire in such a manner, talk less of a respected Elder of the Empire.
Every single individual glanced at the room of the Mortal Empire, and although they couldn't see through the glass in front of the room, some of them could imagine the individual who spoke to be having an arrogant and indifferent expression as he sat on the chair in the room.
Anon and some of the participants of the auction recognized the voice, and to their surprise, except for Anon, it was Darius Flint that spoke.
Anon shifted his gaze from the room of the Mortal Empire to that of the Supreme God Empire.
He could see the shock and disbelief on the faces of the Elders and Guardians, and even Eryndor Castiel who had an expression of utter indifference from the beginning had an expression of shock and disbelief.
Anon had no need for somebody to tell him about the following set of actions and events that would most likely take place.
'From shock and disbelief to most likely rage or a completely dangerous silence.'
'Both are extremely dangerous and can lead to a battle occurring between the Mortal Empire and the Supreme God Empire in the Underworld.'
'I'm sure a battle between numerous Tier 6s is not allowed in the Underworld, so no matter what, Calista is going to have to stop it before it gets out of hand.'
Anon frowned deeply, and then he glanced at the room of the Mortal Empire once again.
He could see and hear the tense argument that was occurring between Darius Flint and the remaining members of the Mortal Empire.
The Elders and other Chosens were desperately trying to change Darius Flint's mind on his stubbornness and unreasonable desire for the Codex, however, Darius Flint was adamant and did not listen to a single one of them.
His attitude and words enraged and worried the other members of the Mortal Empire but for some reason that was unknown to Anon, they could not do anything about Darius Flint's desire and actions.
Anon shifted his gaze to Calista and he could see a slightly worried expression on her face. However, hidden in her gaze was a cunning light, and Corey was curious as to what she was planning.
Her lips parted open to speak, however, Darius Flint spoke up before she could speak.
"We're not going to give up on the Codex no matter what. Even if you increase the price to a drastic amount, we won't give up on it no matter what."
The expressions of everybody changed when they heard Darius Flint's voice, and murmurs and whispers began flying around the Auction Hall.
The actions of Darius Flint and the Mortal Empire was extremely strange to every Outsider in the Auction Hall, and in the minds of most, a war between two Empires was imminent.
Anon glanced at Darius Flint, and then he shifted his gaze to the room of the Supreme God Empire.
He saw the Elders and Chosens of the Supreme God Empire having completely indifferent expressions.
However, Anon could see a dense sinister light brewing in the eyes of the Elders and Chosens as they stared in the direction of the Mortal Empire.
"200 Immortal Shards."
The Tier 6 Elder that shouted in the past coldly spoke, and the expressions of every single individual including Anon, Calista, and Darius Flint drastically changed.
The price of the Codex was at 96 Immortal Shards, but the Elder of the Supreme God Empire had ruthlessly increased the price of the Codex to a completely, absolutely, absurd amount.
'From 96 Immortal Shards to 200 Immortal Shards.'
'That's extremely ruthless.'
'But it's the fault of Darius Flint. Because of his words and actions, he completely enraged the Supreme God Empire.'
'If the Supreme God Empire is able to call such a price, then that means that they have 200 Immortal Shards on them for the Auction.'
'It was a completely ruthless move from the Supreme God Empire. Since Darius Flint said they wanted the Codex no matter what, he'll have no choice but to increase the bid to keep his words and not lose face.'
'Even if he increases the bid by 1 Immortal Shard and the Supreme God Empire backs down, the Supreme God Empire would be the winners in my eyes.'
'Not only did they show that they're stupidly rich, they also showed how ruthless and cunning they can be.'
'The Supreme God Empire huh... I wonder if they're related to the Supremes in any way.'
Anon glanced at Calista and he was taken aback when he saw her expression.
He could literally swirling rainbow colored crystals in her eyes, and he subconsciously knew that these crystals in her eyes represented money.
All Calista was seeing was money, money, money, and money.
Anon was stunned and for some reason, he felt like Calista was the person that was benefiting the most from this altercation between the two Empires.
He had a feeling that she would have never made up to 200 Immortal Shards if the auction concluded like it was meant to.

However, Calista's wealth had suddenly shot up by a ridiculous degree, and there was no way she was not pleased.
"201 Immortal Shards."
Corey glanced at Darius Flint, and although he had a stoic expression, Corey could see the anger and anxiousness in his eyes and body the moment he increased the bid by 1 Immortal Shard.
He could see the sweat on his forehead and the continuous tapping of his feet as he stared in the direction of the Supreme God Empire.
A part of him was hoping that the Supreme God Empire would increase the bid once again and then he'll back out and think of a way to steal the Codex.
Meanwhile, another part of him was hoping that the Supreme God Empire backs down so that he can finally obtain the Codex.
The Codex was extremely important to him.
Stealing the Codex from the Supreme God Empire was extremely dangerous and could have serious repercussions compared to his actions in the Auction Hall.
The safer but more foolish option is to purchase the Codex at an absurd price.
Meanwhile, the more dangerous but smarter option is to allow the Supreme God Empire to purchase the Codex and then find a way to steal it.
Darius Flint's mind was a complete mess and he waited for a response from the Supreme God Empire, but he received none.
Calista's voice echoed in the Auction Hall.
"201 Immortal Shards going to the Mortal Empire."
"Going once!"
"Going twice!"
"Going... Thriceee!"
"Sold!"
