SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 998 - 995: A REAL AUCTION
Diamond and her group confidently walked down the red carpet, signed their names on the walls before stepping inside while radiating auras that were impossible not to see.
"This place is pretty loaded."
"You can tell that we are attending a real auction."
"Haha, are you saying the other ones weren’t real?" Diamond couldn’t help but chuckle amusedly as she found Wyatt’s remarks pretty fun.
Wyatt rolled his eyes at her, upon seeing how he was taking his words out of context and retorted, "You are the one saying that, not me!"
Nolan watched as these two adults bickered like children and shook his head as he let them be.
"We are in room 8," after a while of bickering, as the three walked in the passageway where the private rooms were, Diamond reminded the two guys.
"Yes, Ma’am."
And she rolled her eyes furiously at them, snorted and marched forward, leaving the two of the chuckling heartily.
The three were welcomed by their private servers, who made their life pretty comfortable as they settled down inside the room.
While they waited for the auction to start officially, Diamond took that moment to take several selfies of herself, and posted them online, while tagging both Wyatt and Nolan.
After getting amused by the comments left by the JEWELS, she chuckled helplessly before her focus was shifted towards the messages sent by her friends.
Apparently, Samantha and Helena were in the audience and happened to have seen her earlier when she arrived.
She chatted merrily with the two and promised to see them later once the auction has ended.
In the past few days, apart from spending time with the two guys, she didn’t contact others. She as worried that if she doesn’t spend time with them, they would go back and that time would be wasted. She didn’t want that happening.
While chatting with her friends, she also got the news that Zara was in box 25. For such a foreigner to be able to snatch a box, it could be seen that Zara’s family was truly ... they were quite loaded and influential.
After all, she likes their products very much, and at some point, even used their products to gift her fans. They were that good.
The family were even involved in those invisible drones. If hers wasn’t from the system, she might have thought that it was gotten from there, but currently, the Hansley family hasn’t put those drones in the market just yet.
It was quite intriguing.
"Dee, it’s about to start," Nolan nudged her elbow, seeing her so engrossed on her phone, and that made Diamond remember where she was.
She sheepishly put her phone away and looked to the podium, ready to see this auction kicking off.
Diamond looked at the woman in front and her eyes lit up. The auction house really knows how to pick people. The woman was not just pretty, but she has this amazing voluptuous body that made the emerald gown she was wearing look as if she was born wearing it.
She looked so amazing and Diamond’s interest in the auction even increased.
Who didn’t like seeing beautiful people and things?
The auction started on a good note, and the lady was very good at enticing bids. Unfortunately, she and the boys were not interested in anything in the first half of the auction.
"I am starting to get bored. Is there nothing that can actually make my heart race?" she asked wondrously, starting to doubt the image she had conjured for this auction.
The two guys looked at her with bemused expressions and softly chided her.
"How can you say that? Didn’t you see all those bids worth over A$20 million?"
She softly harrumphed upon hearing that and shamelessly retorted, "they have nothing to do with me. Why should I be bothered with them?"
In the end, the two simply shoved some fruits in her mouth to keep her from talking, making the attendants serving them to stifle their laughter. Being in this room had made them see a lot of hilarious things they would have never thought seeing while working at such a reputable auction house.
While stewing in her boredom and chewing on the fruit, the lady in emerald brought out something covered by a cloth to the front, enticing curiosity from everyone in attendance.
"What we have here is something that will make the ladies go wild, have their hearts race and above all, it’s a special symbol of love. A relic from the past and one filled with memories!" the lady started announcing the next item on the list, her mouth narrating a bit of history about whatever was going to come out.
Hearing about this next item, her interest was piqued. She couldn’t help but wonder what was really there, and she wasn’t alone on that matter.
After the sugar-coated description was done, the cover was removed and voila, a golden cuff bracelet came into view.
"Wow! Now we are talking!" she excitedly exclaimed, looking at the bracelet with stars in her eyes.
She didn’t know why, but the bracelet, Diamond just wanted to bid for it and get it. Perhaps, it was the unreasonable love story that drew her in or her love for such jewelry, but she was pretty determined to get it.
Money was never an issue, anyway.
"You like it?"
"Yep, and I am going to get it!" she seriously responded, and got ready to bid.
The bidding didn’t waste time, and a crazy bidding round started, leaving even Diamond stunned.
However, as she continued to push the bid further up, an unexpected bidder came into play, box number 25. Recalling that it was Zara in that box, Diamond hesitated for a while. Should she continue to bid or stop?
However, she really liked the bracelet and even if Zara was pitiful, that didn’t mean that, she should give up what she wants for others. She doesn’t work that way.
As she was about to increase her bid, not knowing how anxious Zara was, as she cursed her inwardly, the supporting system made a move and Diamond was dumbfounded.
[Ding! Urgent mission issued. Do not acquire the bracelet. It’s part of the target’s ongoing mission. Reward: water seed.]
Upon seeing the mission and the unexpected reward, Diamond was truly at a loss of what was truly going on.
Was the bracelet so important that the system was willing to part with a water seed?
Was that also the reason why Zara was determined to get it?
Thinking about that poor girl, Diamond suddenly softened up. Zara can have the bracelet. And ... hehe, she wasn’t doing it for the water seed at all.
How could she?
The two guys seeing her not bidding, nudged her as they asked, "You no longer interested?"
Diamond couldn’t tell them what was truly going on. So, she could only let out a sigh and responded, "let them have it. I will bid for something else later."
Since she no longer wanted it, the two guys didn’t force her at all. With Diamond’s withdrawal, the bracelet was won by Zara for a couple of millions.
After that, other items were put on for sale, and amongst them were the gems that the two guys came to Athary for. They were very eager to get their hands on the gems, and after a crazy battle, they won the gems for quite a huge price, but both men were very pleased.
After all, they managed to get the gems without blowing off their budget. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Next, we have a diary here. Even the appraisers aren’t sure of what is written there, but everyone thinks that a message is surely hidden in there. Since we can’t decrypt the message, we hope that the person who will buy this diary can tackle this problem and find whatever riches are in there!" while holding a strange thick book with a black cover, the female auctioneer announced.
Upon hearing that, Diamond’s curiosity was piqued to the fullest. Strange books and strange languages. Wasn’t that something that she might be interested in?
Who knows what kind of treasures she might come across by getting that book?
If she can’t decipher it, let Andrea do the work. He is a super intelligent AI system, which devoured her special AI given by the system making him much better compared to others. What should she fear?
If worse comes to worst, there was still another polyglot chance. She might use that chance to learn whatever language was in that book. Whatever was in there, she was determined to get her hands on the book. But before recklessly biding, she decided to wait and see how others were going to do.
"A$50,000."
"A$500,000."
The bid prices kept on increasing and when the figure reached A$1 million, suddenly no one wanted to bid anymore.
Honestly, it was understandable. The book didn’t have any origins and buying it might be a waste of time. And there were still many other things that hadn’t been auctioned yet. So, people didn’t want to continue anymore.
And the bidder was Zara. Diamond couldn’t help but feel furious.
Was heaven going against her again?
She wanted a bracelet and Zara ended up getting it. Don’t tell me that this book was also part of Zara’s mission?
She waited for a while, to see if there was going to be another mission issued by the system. And as she waited, the lady in emerald started calling, and that sent her into panic.
