SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 993 - 990: THE DAGGER OF SUFFERING 2
The next morning as Zara sat on the bed, with the machines beeping next to her, her mind never stopped questioning reality.
’Is this really happening?’
’I heard the doctor, right? I didn’t mishear, right?’
She couldn’t help but be in a daze, honestly.
It all felt like a dream, and this dream started at the moment that she was given that pill by Diamond.
With the healing pill in hand, Zara left Diamond’s villa in a state of excitement, which resulted in her getting connected to the machines as soon as she reached her place. She wasn’t allowed to be overly emotional. Her state didn’t allow it.
However, before sleeping, she emphasized greatly how she must take the pill. Emma and Ava refused firmly and it nearly gave them a headache.
It was Quinn who sided with her, and only then did she take the pill before dozing off.
As for what happened when she was sleeping, honestly, she didn’t know. But all she knew was that when she woke up, the doctors who came with her were busy running tests that she nearly went dizzy.
And when the results were announced, she had been in a daze ever since then.
She, the one who had been sick for fifteen years, was healthy. She didn’t have any ailments anymore. All sickness healed, and that included her immune system, which had been a major problem in her life.
To think that a single pill could change her life like this, she was at a loss and didn’t know how to respond or even think at that moment.
However, with worried servants beside her, she could only jolt herself out of her reverie and return to reality.
Looking at the two ladies with a smile, Zara responded to their many questions, a relaxed expression on her face.
"I am feeling fine. I told you that she will not hurt me!" she happily said, defending Diamond, who her servants were wary of until now.
Upon hearing that, the two could only sigh deeply. How can that be believable?
In this world, a person can possess such a pill? If that pill really exists, then wouldn’t people be waging wars just to get it?
However, on second thoughts, weren’t there a lot of mysteries around the world?
After all, what were they doing in a foreign country, a very long way from home?
They couldn’t help but feel contradictory and filled with questions.
Nevertheless, despite the assurance, they couldn’t help but be anxious and fearful.
So, to respond to Zara’s words, Emma answered, "I understand that she might not hurt you, but mind you, you only met yesterday. Do you think that it will make sense to give such a precious pill, just like that?"
Ava nodded, finding Emma’s words to be reasonable. This was the kind of pill that wouldn’t be given out easily. Even if it was given out, a lot of money needed to be paid in exchange. It wasn’t something that could be given for free unless the other person wanted something from Zara.
With the two people speaking in exchange, Zara’s cloudy mind started clearing up.
These two were speaking sense. They just met, so how could Diamond part with something that precious so easily like that?
Could it be that there was something that she needed from her and perhaps stalked her?
Or could it be that she was someone who was sent by Amir?
She hadn’t heard anything from him for a while now. He promised to come to Athary, but she hadn’t seen his shadow in the slightest.
She couldn’t help but be suspicious of Diamond. But there was no point in being suspicious on her own.
Diamond seemed to be the straightforward kind of person and for a person like that, asking directly would solve all issues.
So, she looked at the two ladies and told them, "Take me to Diamond. I need to ask her something!" her tone was serious, leaving no room for arguments.
She didn’t want to have this turned into an argument which would never end.
The two hearing that, didn’t oppose. They also wanted answers, so they helped Zara as soon as possible so that she was in a state where she could meet Diamond.
An hour later, Zara once again was sitting in front of Diamond, but they weren’t in any villa but in a gazebo at the back of the mountain.
Zara’s people were patrolling, or rather keeping vigilance, just in case something happens. While Diamond was by herself without any backup, not that she was powerless. With a flick of her finger, Zara’s people would be gone.
At the table, refreshments were placed there, and the two were munching on them relaxedly.
"I bet that you used the pill yesterday. How do you feel?" Diamond asked as she corked a brow at Zara, scanning her face.
Zara beamed upon getting that question. "I feel great. My body has never been this light before!"
Diamond nodded a satisfied smile on her face.
"That’s good then. At least you can deal with the next issue with ease now!" Diamond easily said, finding it the perfect moment to pass the one thing this young lady came to Athary for, the dagger of suffering.
Bang!
As if something exploded in her head, Zara looked suspiciously at Diamond, something in her telling her that Diamond seemed to know more than she was letting on. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Zara placed her gloved hands, on top of the table and looked directly at Diamond, her lips twitching as she practiced the questions she wanted to ask.
Before she could ask, Diamond beat her to it and said, "I can tell that you have questions and suspicions. But don’t worry, I will get rid of all suspicions today. I will tell you what I can tell you but bear in mind, I don’t have any ill intentions towards you!" relaxing a bit in her chair. "Like I said before, we are fated. Otherwise, we both wouldn’t have been here."
Suddenly hearing that, something in Zara’s mind clicked.
What did Amir say when they met back then?
Why were Diamond’s words literally familiar to Amir’s?
Could it be that this time, Diamond replaced Amir’s role in helping her find the ring?
Diamond suddenly smiled seeing Zara’s conflicted expression. "You are pretty clever and quick-witted. I like that!" and said mysteriously as if she had just read Zara’s mind again.
Zara this time panicked. She looked warily and curiously at Diamond, wondering if her thoughts were really true. And if it was like that, what was really going on?
She couldn’t help but be curious.
Diamond’s lips curled upwards as she picked up the glass of juice on the table and took a few sips before placing it down.
She placed her hands on the table, revealing the well-manicured hands that didn’t seem to have suffered in this world at all. They were long, proper and above all, the nails were pretty long and beautiful. It made one wonder if they were fake nails.
Diamond then looked at Zara, tapping her fingers rhythmically at the table, and opened her mouth to say, "You came here for a reason and I am here for a reason. You came here looking for something and I am here to deliver something. I have what you want. Honestly, at first, I wanted to hear from you and learn why you must have it. But I guess I can only surrender it to you and wish you well with everything that you are set out to do!" a helpless sigh escaping her lips.
Zara wasn’t expecting to hear such words from Diamond. Those words confirmed her earlier suspicions regarding Diamond’s role in this mission.
To think that she had suspected the other, when she was here with good intentions, she felt embarrassed and wanted to apologize.
However, before she could apologize, Diamond’s next move suddenly left her with jaws dropped on the ground.
With a flick of her hand, a suppressing aura suddenly descended on her. It made her feel so suffocated that she wanted to gasp for breath. However, the faster it came, the faster it vanished.
Moments later, in front of her, Zara saw an ancient dagger with a hilt which made her shudder with fear.
’This is the one!’ she exclaimed fearfully as she looked at the dagger. She remembered even with her eyes closed.
This was the damn dagger she saw being pushed into Zahrah in one of her dreams. It was the dagger which killed Zahrah, and the damn dagger which she was supposed to find on her second mission.
What was it doing in Diamond’s hands? And where the heck did it appear from?
Filled with so many questions, she wanted to ask Diamond, but before she could do so, Diamond’s phone started ringing.
Zara watched helplessly as Diamond tapped her ear and asked, "Who is calling?"
And then she went silent for a second before saying, "Connect the person!"
Zara couldn’t understand Diamond’s words at all. After all, she wasn’t proficient in the Atharian language, so she could only sit there as she watched Diamond talking for a while before she hung up.
After hanging up, she said to her. "We are fated. I have given you what I needed to give, and now I need to run a few errands of mine. I wish you the best and if we are fated, let us meet again!" as she stood to her feet. Not knowing how this one statement will make her regret in a couple of days.
"Diamond, I ..."
Unfortunately, she wasn’t given to say anything further as the loud sound of the car exhaust blasted into everyone’s ears.
Zara turned to see which car it was, she was dumbfounded once again as she saw the familiar red Valkyrie which caused chaos during her broadcast.
Diamond smiled cheerfully at Zara as she stepped away from the chair and said, "This lady got to go. Take care!"
She bided Zara farewell as she walked towards the waiting red car, being currently operated by Andrea.
As for how the young lady would react after she was gone, that was something for another day.
Right now, the lady has somewhere very important to go.
Her mission was done, not knowing how fate can play twisted games with others.
The future was pretty long.
