Chapter 30: Permision Received

At the exact same time Torin was launched backward, the full force attack of Torin’s Level 9 essence crashed heavily against Rhain’s fist.

BOOM!

The residual force of the Mountain Crushing Fist slammed into Rhain.

His body was uncontrollably pushed back.

He slid back seven or eight paces before finally coming to a halt.

However, aside from a slight unsteadiness in his breathing, there was not the slightest sign of severe injury on his body!

He stood up straight, his dark grey eyes completely calm. He casually brushed a speck of dust from his dark robes.

A normal Essence Awakening cultivator would have been instantly crushed by that residual force.

But to the Abyssal Sovereign Physique, it was nothing more than a heavy push.

He wasn’t hurt. Not even slightly scratched.

The entire hall was thrown into a dead, heavy silence.

Everyone finally came to their senses.

The elders stood completely frozen, their eyes wide with absolute, unadulterated shock.

An Essence Awakening Realm disciple.

A boy who was no more than eighteen years old.

He had just defeated the Fourth Elder—an expert at the absolute peak of the Essence Condensation Realm!

It was a reality so completely absurd, so profoundly logic-breaking, that it shattered their entire worldview into pieces.

It was beyond their wildest dreams.

The Spirit Manifestation Realm cultivator, Harmon Vael firmly clenched his trembling hands.

He had expected Rhain to be a prodigy.

In fact, he had placed him at the absolute highest level of genius his mind could comprehend—the apex talents of Mirravele City.

But only now, witnessing this utterly monstrous display, did Harmon finally realize how terribly he had underestimated the boy.

His genius was completely beyond imagination.

Harmon had been trying to use his decades of worldly logic to chain Rhain down.

But Rhain’s talent was so ridiculously, devastatingly, and unimaginably powerful that all conventional logic was completely meaningless before him.

Across the hall, the sound of shifting rubble broke the silence.

Torin slowly pushed himself up from the fractured stone pillar.

He coughed, wiping a trail of blood from his chin.

He raised his head to look at Rhain.

His gaze was extremely complicated.

By all rights, an elder being defeated by a junior disciple in front of his peers should have brought him absolute, unbearable embarrassment.

But as Torin stared at the calm, indifferent youth, he didn’t feel any humiliation.

Instead, a strange, overwhelming sense of pride and pure happiness swelled in his chest.

He was happy. Genuinely, profoundly happy that the gods had blessed their dying sect with such an incomprehensible monster.

And he felt proud.

Proud that he had been given the opportunity to spar with this monster.

In the years to come, when this boy stood at the top of unconquered mountains, this defeat might just become the greatest, most glorious boast of his entire life.

Torin straightened his back. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Ignoring his injuries, he bowed deeply toward Rhain.

"I concede," Torin said, his voice echoing cleanly across the silent hall. "I accept my defeat."

Rhain gave a slight nod.

Torin then turned his gaze toward the head of the hall.

"Sect Master," Torin spoke, his tone completely solemn.

Harmon looked at him, his eyes were hazy as he was still trying to recover from the absolute shock.

"I was wrong," Torin admitted. "We were all wrong."

He gestured toward Rhain.

"A prodigy like him... a true dragon... cannot be confined to a shallow pond. Keeping him locked safely within the sect will not protect him. It will only hinder his potential. It will do him far more harm than good.

"He needs to go out and face dangers. He needs to experience the cruelty of the world to forge his invincible path."

Torin took a heavy step forward, his eyes burning with absolute resolve.

"Allow him to enter the Hollow Realm, Sect Master! I swear on my very life, as long as I draw breath, I will not let a single hair on his head be harmed! If the Ironpeak Sect wishes to touch him, they will have to step over my dead body first!"

Hearing Torin’s resolute vow, everyone’s heart had shaken.

Harmon stared at Torin for a long time.

Then, he shifted his gaze back to Rhain.

The boy stood there, his dark grey irises completely bereft of any apprehension, any arrogance, or any doubt.

Just absolute, terrifying certainty.

Harmon closed his eyes.

He let out a long, deep sigh.

When he opened his eyes again, the hesitation was gone.

Harmon finally nodded heavily.

"Alright," Harmon said, his voice ringing with absolute finality. "You will go."

"Thank you, Sect Master," Rhain said.

His voice was polite, without the slightest of arrogance after gaining the victory.

He then turned his gaze to Torin and gave a slight nod. "And thank you, Fourth Elder."

Torin clutched his injured arm, but a hearty, robust laugh escaped his lips.

"No need to thank me. You earned it with your strength. If anyone should be thankful, it is me, I feel the understanding of my own strength has improved considerably."

Harmon stepped forward, his expression returning to its usual solemnity.

"The Hollow Realm opens tomorrow at noon," Harmon stated, his voice heavy with absolute authority. "We have already finalized the roster of the thirty individuals who will represent the Azure Cloud Sect. They are gathering at the Inner Sect training ground this evening."

Harmon looked at Rhain.

"I will officially announce your addition to the roster tonight. Until then, you will stay here. We have much to discuss regarding the Ironpeak Sect’s usual ambush tactics, the specific hazards of the realm, and our coordination with the Graves family."

"Understood," Rhain nodded.

For the rest of the afternoon, the vast hall was filled with the solemn voices of the elders.

They methodically outlined their plans, and the coordination of their team.

Rhain quietly listened to every word with much interruption, his knowledge about the Hollow realm had improved after listening to the experiences of the elders who had entered the Hollow realm before.

Evening gradually descended, and the sky had slightly dimmed.

Harmon, accompanied by Great Elder Silas, Fourth Elder Torin, a few other esteemed elders, and Rhain, walked out of the Sect Master’s Hall and headed straight toward the Inner Sect training ground.

As they approached, Rhain’s eyes swept across the wide and open area.

There were twenty-five figures already quietly standing there, waiting with respectful postures.

They were neatly lined up into two distinct groups.

On the right stood fifteen middle-aged men and women.

Their cultivations ranged from the second level of the Essence Condensation Realm to the seventh level.

Combined with Torin and the other four elders arriving with Harmon, they formed the complete twenty-man elder team.

On the left stood the disciples.

Exactly ten of them.

These were the absolute elites of the Inner Sect.

The geniuses who had fought their way to the top of the rankings over the past two weeks of fierce competition.

The weakest among them emitted the pressure of the eighth level of the Essence Awakening Realm.

The strongest, standing at the very front, was at the absolute peak of the ninth level.

Rhain’s dark grey eyes did not linger for long on elders or the disciples.

His eyes were locked on one figure.

For the first time, a genuine, undeniable flicker of surprise flashed through Rhain’s abyssal pupils.

Standing among the absolute elites of the Inner Sect was a girl.

She wore the deep purple robes of an Inner Disciple, fitting perfectly over her slender, delicate frame.

Her skin possessed a mesmerizing, transcendent glow, completely flawless under the flickering light of the lamps.

Silver-white hair that tumbled down past her shoulders, now catching a mystical, breathtaking hint of ice-blue.

And pale purple eyes that were currently staring straight back at him.
