Sign-In System: Starting With Invincible Physique-Chapter 29: Fighting Fourth Elder Torin
Chapter 29: Fighting Fourth Elder Torin
Two weeks passed.
These two weeks in the Azure Cloud Sect were fated to not be peaceful.
The matter of the Hollow Realm opening had finally been released to the Inner Sect disciples.
It threw the entire sect into a raging uproar.
After days of fierce and unrelenting competition, the ten disciples who would be going were finally selected.
Te undisputed number one disciple of the Inner Sect, Victor Corvin, was selected as the leader for the disciple group.
But none of that mattered to Rhain sitting in the isolated courtyard.
For fourteen days, Rhain had not taken a single step outside his meditation room.
At this time, in the quiet courtyard, a dense aura violently fluctuated before slowly withdrawing into Rhain’s body.
Rhain’s eyes gradually opened.
Ninth level of the Essence Awakening Realm!
In just a short period of time, his strength had soared to the absolute peak of the Essence Awakening Realm.
He had reached the ninth level on the tenth day, and he spent remaining four days trying to reach the next realm, but he still could not break through to the Essence Condensation Realm...
Over the past two weeks, the System had been quite generous.
[Uncommon Grade] Blood-Cleansing Pill]
[Uncommon Grade] Shadow-Stealth Robe
[Uncommon Grade] Iron-Bone Grass
[Uncommon Grade] Swift Wind Talisman
[Uncommon Grade] Jade Marrow Liquid.
They were items that would cause inner disciples to bleed each other dry in the streets.
The one that caught his eyes the most was the Shadow-Stealth Robe.
It was also an Uncommon Grade artifact, but its utility was quite impressive.
As long as he wore it, any cultivator at the Essence Condensation Realm or below would find their essence senses rendered completely useless.
They won’t be able to sense his presence or cultivation level.
The only way they could find him was if they looked directly at him with their naked eyes.
Rhain picked up the cloak and swung it over his shoulders.
The dark fabric clung perfectly to his muscular body.
The time for seclusion was over.
The Hollow Realm was opening tomorrow.
He pushed the heavy wooden doors of his meditation room open and stepped out, his eyes squinting slightly as he met the morning light.
His destination was the Sect Master’s Hall.
.......
When he arrived at the central peak, the massive wooden doors were already slightly open.
When he stepped inside, the atmosphere was thick and heavy with tension.
Harmon stood at the head of a massive stone table, his hands clasped behind his back as he stared at a mapped parchment.
Flanking him were a few high-ranking elders, their faces grim and voices low as they discussed the final preparations for the realm.
Standing among them was Torin, his expression serious as he listened to the elders argue over the logistics of the expedition.
The moment Rhain’s footsteps echoed against the floor, the discussion ceased.
Every eye in the hall were attracted to him like magnet.
"You have come out of seclusion." Harmon Vael’s cloudy eyes slowly lit up and eased into a smile.
Rhain stopped a few paces away and gave a slight nod. "Sect Master."
Harmon stared at him for a long, measured moment. "And it seems... your strength has improved once again."
But as the elder’s piercing gazes locked at Rhain, they discovered something very strange.
Their eyes could see Rhain perfectly.
But their senses felt absolutely nothing.
Rhain didn’t give them much time to think, he looked at Torin and said, "Fourth Elder. I have come to fulfill our agreement." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
As Rhain’s voice dropped off, the hall stilled in silence.
Torin stepped forward with a calm face.
In his eyes, Rhain was a monstrous genius, but still an immature youth.
"I will not go easy on you, Rhain," Torin said, his voice echoing heavily across the stone walls. "If I hold back, I will only be sending you to your death in the Hollow Realm. I will show you the absolute cruelty of the gap between our realms."
Rhain’s dark grey eyes remained completely flat.
"That’s what I want, elder," Rhain said.
Harmon raised his hand, gesturing for the other elders to step back, instantly clearing the vast center of the Sect Master’s Hall.
"You two can begin," Harmon spoke, he was also quite curious to see Rhain’s true strength.
Maren was defeated with a single attack, but Rhain will definitely have to go all out to fight Torin.
Receiving Harmon’s orders, Torin did not hesitate and casually waved his right hand.
An irresistible force suddenly swept up, forming a condensed palm print of essence that flew straight toward Rhain’s chest.
Although Torin had said that he would not hold back, he was still afraid that he might gravely injure Rhain if he striked with his full strength; thus he only used a casual move, without any martial art, but fueled by the oppressive weight of the ninth level of Essence Condensation.
Yet it was enough to crush any Essence Awakening Realm cultivator.
But as he blinked, Rhain was nowhere to be seen.
Swoosh!
A sharp gust of wind swept towards him from his left side.
Torin’s pupils contracted to pinpoints.
Before Torin could even shift his stance, Rhain was already in front of him.
His hand struck out, carrying the heavy, terrifying physical force of his Sovereign-Grade physique.
Torin’s eyes widened in sheer shock.
He didn’t have time to evade.
He hastily circulated his Level 9 essence, instantly forming a dense, rocky shield of condensed energy over his left arm, and brought it up to block.
BOOM!
The collision echoed like a thunderclap inside the silent hall.
The absolute, unadulterated physical force behind Rhain’s palm strike crashed into Torin’s guard.
Torin was forced to take back three full paces.
All the elders watching were flabbergasted.
"I underestimated you," Torin looked at Rhain, his expression completely devoid of its previous casualness.
"Sect master was absolutely right when he told me that your raw physical strength is monstrous. If I continue to hold back, I will be the one humiliated today."
"I had reminded you to not hold back." Rhain shrugged indifferently.
Torin’s aura detonated.
The absolute peak of the Essence Condensation Realm erupted without a single reservation.
He stepped forward.
"Take this, Rhain!"
Torin thrust his fist.
It was an Uncommon-Grade martial art—Mountain Crushing Fist.
The fist carried an oppressive, crushing momentum that locked onto Rhain’s position.
Rhain’s expression remained flat.
Gale-Tteading Steps
His body shifted fluidly, his footwork so precise it seemed as if he were walking on the wind itself.
He slipped past the devastating fist with less than an inch to spare.
Then, his right hand raised, essence gathering in his palm like a silent, swirling vortex.
Flowing Cloud Palm.
Another Uncommon Grade martial art.
On the sidelines, two of the observing elders went completely stiff.
One of them, a lean man who had spent forty years practicing the Gale Treading Steps, felt his world spinning.
"That footwork..." he muttered, his voice trembling. "There’s no interruption. No flaw. He’s reached the stage of Perfection!"
Even he, an elder, had not reached that level of mastery.
Beside him, an older woman stared at Rhain’s hands, her eyes wide with shock.
"And that palm strike..." she breathed, her hands clenching into fists. "The essence flows without a single ripple of resistance. It’s perfect."
She had practiced the Flowing Cloud Palm for decades.
Yet, watching a junior execute it, she felt like a novice.
For the first time, they felt that their years of cultivation were wasted.
Meanwhile, Torin’s fist collided with Rhain’s palm.
BANG!
A terrifying shockwave of compressed air exploded from the center of the collision.
The turbulent air currents ripped through the hall, causing the robes of the observing elders to flap wildly.
Torin’s right arm violently trembled, a dull ache rapidly spreading deep into his bones.
He stepped back, his foot stomping heavily the solid stone floor.
It took him a second to stabilize his body.
He raised his head and looked at Rhain, his eyes revealing a deep layer of absolute shock.
Rhain, on the other hand, merely swayed his upper body. His feet had not moved even half a step!
"Come Again!" Torin bellowed, his voice containing a deep, guttural roar. He could no longer afford to treat this youth as a junior.
If he was careless, the one who would end up as an object of ridicule today would be undoubtedly him!
The two figures clashed again and again, exchanging dozens of blows in the span of a few breaths.
The hall was flooded with the turbulent collision of their auras.
An elder at the peak of the Essence Condensation Realm and a youth at the Essence Awakening Realm... were actually fighting to a standstill!
They were completely, equally matched!
The hall fell into a suffocating silence, broken only by the sharp clashing noise of the ongoing spar.
It wasn’t just shock anymore.
It was absolute, undeniable awe.
But among the stunned crowd, the lean elder and the older woman had completely forgotten to breathe.
They did not even care who would win or lose this fight anymore.
Their eyes were firmly locked onto Rhain’s every movement, unblinking, afraid that if they blinked, they would miss something important.
Meanwhile, Torin’s internal shock was mounting.
Every time their attacks clashed, a terrifying, concussive force traveled up his arms, violently shaking his very bones.
He was at the Essence Condensation Realm!
Yet, Rhain’s raw physical power was easily shattering his defenses like glass.
On the other side of the exchange, Rhain had also become slightly impatient.
He was not used to prolonged fights.
Relying on his Sovereign physique, all of his opponents till now had been one-shot by him.
But Torin’s absolute advantage in realm helped him neutralize Rhain’s marvellous physical strength.
If he continued fighting like this, relying solely on Uncommon-Grade techniques and raw physical force, it would be almost impossible to defeat fourth elder.
Rhain’s footwork suddenly shifted.
The fluid, graceful motions of the Flowing Cloud Palm vanished without a trace.
He pulled his right arm back. His fingers curled inward, forming a simple, tight fist.
To the observing elders standing on the sidelines, the movement looked completely ordinary.
Watching Rhain’s incoming fist, Torin did not think much and met it with his own fist.
The two fists collided in mid-air.
In that exact fraction of a millisecond, Torin’s eyes widened to the size of saucers.
Absolute, unadulterated horror flooded his face.
His impenetrable Level 9 essence defense... didn’t block anything.
It was rendered completely, utterly useless.
Rhain’s Void Fist bypassed the physical barrier entirely.
The compressed, violent dark essence phased directly through Torin’s golden shroud, sinking deep into his flesh before detonating internally.
"Guh—!"
Torin violently coughed out a mouthful of blood.
The devastating internal explosion ripped through his arm and slammed directly into his internal organs.
His massive body was instantly lifted off the ground, launched backward like a cannonball.
He flew across the vast expanse of hall, crashing heavily into a thick stone pillar.
CRACK.
The solid stone splintered.
Torin slumped to the floor, gasping frantically for air, his right arm hanging completely limp at his side.
