Side Job: SSS-Class Necromancer!-Chapter 51: [Elementary Runes!]
"Huh? What?"(Noah)
Noah looked at the entire class observing him, along with Miss Ameliana waiting for him to answer.
[A way to make learning the basic rune easy, huh?](Elios)
’Do you have a way?’(Noah)
[A trick? Though I don’t know if it will work or not. We can give it a try?](Elios)
Noah pondered it for a brief moment and then stood up before looking at Miss Ameliana.
"I think I can try something."(Noah)
Miss Ameliana smiled as she nodded before taking a step back, providing enough space for Noah to take the stage for the moment.
She recalled how the headmaster had guided Elios to take part in the classes. Since he was a genius, he could probably try doing things from different angles, surprising all of us.
[You have used 2000 Karma to buy Skill: Illusion of Light(E)!]
[Your Side Job Reacts!]
[You have gained the skill: Misdirectional Curse!]
[Your Skill: Curse Master consumes the new skill!]
[Curse Master’s Grade has been upgraded to B+]
They both took a brief look at the system messages before ignoring it as Noah reached the center of the stage and then looked at the class in front of him.
While almost all the faces were unrecognizable except one.
The green haired, green eyes girl that Noah had treated just this morning was already in the class. Well, despite going through the curse, Noah had already treated her to the peak form so it shouldn’t be a problem for her to return to work.
Though it was still a surprise that she did attend the class.
Quiet studious, no?
[The fundamentals of the rune are quite odd! It’s like somebody used arithmetic along with alphabets and tried to form a language but then gave up halfway before losing interest.](Elios)
"The fundamentals of the rune are quite odd! It’s like somebody used arithmetic along with alphabets and tried to form a language but then gave up halfway before losing interest."(Noah)
[Illusion]
It began with a slight joke before Elios asked Noah to create an illusion of a rune symbol in the air. It seemed to be similar to the number 11 written in 4 strokes.
And then repeating what Elios said...
"This is the most common symbol for water. It can create a few drops of water if you apply enough mana to it."(Noah)
The water rune glowed blue as drops of water seemed to be flowing down from it’s sides.
[Illusion!]
And then another symbol appeared in the air. This one seemed like a question mark, except the dot was within the center of the semi-circle.
"This one is for fire."(Noah)
The fire glowed fiery, representing its nature.
[Illusion]
And then two more symbols appeared.
One for air. Another for land.
[Illusion!]
And then 4 more appeared, respresting light, darkness, lightning and ice.
[Illusion!]
And lastly about a dozens more symbols appeared at once, representing an element each of it. Many were rare and unknown, creating a grasp out of everyone present within the classroom.
-Click!
With a click of a finger, Noah then erased all the other symbols leaving the water one in its place. The first one he created.
"Since memorizing is an innate thing, I would like you to first learn to memorize the rune of the elements that you can use. And since Miss Ameliana’s class is more focused on water magic, we will choose that rune symbol as the basis of the study."(Noah)
[Illusion!]
A single line appeared beside the 11’s mark. Turning it into the symbol of "11I"
"The more vertical lines you etch into the rune symbol, the more mana it can take to function. The result is good if you can supply enough mana into it, though each stroke increases the mana requirement by 3 to 4 times. Hence the less stroke the more efficient the rune."(Noah)
[Illusion!]
A few more runes appeared each with 11I, 11II, 11IIII, etc showing how difficult it is to fill the mana with each increasing stroke.
[Illusion!]
Then the symbol returned to original 11, except a horizontal slash connected both of them together.
"If you use a stroke, you can increase the efficiency of the water magic to perform. Circuiting the entire rune at once. It’s like two individual workers doing the same work. Though it decreases the overall output."(Noah)
[Illusion]
The amount of drops decreases by more than 70% with a single stroke but the water drops that came out of the rune remained stable for twice as long.
[Illusion]
This time a dot formed between the two 1’s instead of the slash.
"A dot is generally used to create stability between the runes. In this case, the water production which was losing minute energy is now more stable than before. Thought adding more dots would hinder the flow of the mana hence we limit to 2, or at most 3 dots in a single rune."(Noah)
[Illusion]
The shape shifted to 1:1
"This is the most normal water rune that most commoners are familiar with. It is an improvement to the originals we have been using for so long, though looking back at them it would be a good way to understand the basics."(Noah)
[Illusion!]
A dash was created between the 1’s rendering them unable to function.
[Illusion!]
Then three runes were created with each a slash that was at angle from the 1’s.
"The more angles that you create with each stroke, the easier their function. Though the more vertical you draw them, the more they can store energy on their own."(Noah)
A pin drop silence ensued.
Taking a short pause he looked at the students observing him with slight amazement.
Each of them slowing their breath so as to not disturb Noah from speaking.
Some of them even used silent casts to not disturb him with the scribbling noise.
A smile formed on Noah’s face as even Elios chuckled in his mind before he almost continued...
-Ring! Ring! Ring!
The bell rang and the class was over.
"Well. Next Class we can talk about the circles and how you can loop the mana?"(Noah)
