Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don't Want to Have Any More Children With You-Chapter 3Vol 4. : Stealing Offerings!
A few days after the end of the Empire War, the cleanup efforts were finally complete.
The core members of the Lionheart Society, along with the honest officials ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) who had refused to align with Canter and his cronies, were now responsible for managing the Empire's internal operations.
Martin’s father was among them.
Initially, the workload was overwhelming, even simple tasks like compiling reports were falling behind.
Thankfully, Rebecca had a sudden idea: if they needed to find good and honest officials, why not look in the prisons?
Although the suggestion sounded grim, it turned out to be quite effective.
After several days of relentless work without rest, the Empire was functioning again, even without Canter and his corrupt entourage.
As for electing the new king, that would take some time.
The election process and the pool of candidates had to be carefully considered before a final decision was made.
In the meantime, with the Empire's military strength, there was no need to worry about opportunistic invasions from neighboring countries.
With everything set in place, Leon and Rosvisser were finally ready to return home.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay a bit longer, Captain? After all, this is the kingdom you won for everyone,” Rebecca said at the city gates, where she, Martin, and other members of the Lionheart Society had come to bid them farewell.
“Kingdom, shm-ingdom. My father always told me to stay away from politics. Saving the world is just a side job,” Leon replied.
Rebecca rolled her eyes so hard they almost got stuck at the top of her head. It felt like since the captain had been with his wife, one thing had definitely changed: his flair for dramatic humility.
“But the Silver Dragon Sanctuary is so far from here. What if we have an emergency? How will we get word to you in time?” Rebecca pointed out.
Though the Empire was no weaker after Canter’s fall and was not at risk of being overtaken, building a new system and society brought its own challenges. Internal issues were expected, but there were also concerns about external threats.
As Rebecca said, the Empire was quite distant from the Silver Dragon Sanctuary. Even for Rosvisser, flying at full speed would take five to six hours.
If something critical happened and they sent for Leon, by the time he arrived, it might be too late.
“When I get home, I’ll send a trained messenger dragon. If there’s an emergency, use it to send a message to us,” Rosvisser said. “Messenger dragons are fast and can fly from here to the sanctuary overnight.”
Rebecca’s bright eyes widened in curiosity. “Messenger dragon... what’s that?”
“Oh, it’s like your carrier pigeons. It’s a subspecies of dragon that evolved and was trained over time to handle communication between dragons.”
Rebecca nodded. “Oh, got it. Thanks, sis.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Well, we’re off then.”
“Safe travels, Captain.”
“Safe journey.”
“Hope you won’t need that wheelchair the next time we meet, Leon.”
“Take care. See you next time.”
The group bid farewell one by one.
Leon waved to them and then left with Rosvisser.
A silver dragon rose from outside the city gates and soared into the sky.
Rebecca shaded her eyes with her hand as she watched the couple gradually disappear into the horizon and sighed, “Men with families really are different. He’s leaving behind a throne just to rush home to hug his kids.”
“When you have a family, you’ll understand the captain,” Martin said in a knowing tone.
Rebecca shot him a sideways glance. “As if you’re so experienced. If I recall, you’ve never even been in a relationship, have you?”
Martin froze, embarrassed as Rebecca exposed his past. “So what if I haven’t? Have you?”
“No.”
Rebecca paused, then a sly, fox-like smile crossed her face. “Wanna try?”
“Who wants to try with you?!”
“Oh~ little Martin is scared~”
“I’m not scared...” Martin tried to protest.
The twin-tailed girl saw right through him and patted his chest with a confident smirk.
“If you’re not scared, I’ll give you a chance to pursue me.”
“Wait, what? Who said I was going to pursue you?!”
The boy and girl bantered and laughed as they walked back into the city.
Nacho, following behind them, placed his hands on his hips and sighed in exasperation.
“Hard to believe I staged a revolution with a bunch of kids. Unbelievable.”
Walker stepped forward and patted Nacho on the shoulder.
“Come on, senior. We still have a lot of work to do.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
The morning sun rose over the horizon, shining down on this newly reborn nation and lighting up the Lionheart Society’s path to the future.
...
“I bet when we get home, the girls will run to me first,” Leon said.
“No, it’ll be me,” Rosvisser countered.
Nacho would never guess that not only were his colleagues a group of kids, but even his married-with-three-children leader and the leader’s wife were really just overgrown kids at heart.
What kind of adults would argue about this every day?
Only this pair of love-struck fools could be so invested and enjoy it so much.
“This time I’m definitely going to win, Rosvisser. And I’ll win three times over.”
“Oh? You’re that sure all three daughters will go to you first?”
“No, what I mean is—”
Rosvisser tilted her head, intrigued by what trick her husband was up to.
“As long as one of Noa, Moon, or Xiaoguang hugs me before you, that counts as a win for me.”
“Mm-hmm. And then?”
“You’ll have zero wins, and I’ll have one win. That’s a two-win total.”
Rosvisser: ?
“You’ll still have zero, and I’ll have two wins. That’s three wins total.”
“...”
“Three-nothing, dragon queen. How’s that for a score?”
“I’m thinking maybe I should let Canter out of prison. The leader of the strongest revolution shouldn’t be this much of a fool.”
Rosvisser was now seriously questioning if Leon had a second personality.
At crucial moments—heroic entrances, turning the tide of battle, defending the country—he would switch to a serious, decisive, no-nonsense, king-of-strategy mode.
But most of the time, his main personality, the one that was baffling and infuriating, was in control.
Saying he was inconsistent wasn’t quite right, as he’d been like this since the day they met. But to say he was consistent didn’t fit either, because he was definitely bolder now.
After analyzing, Rosvisser came to a conclusion:
This annoying man had just gotten too comfortable with her.
He no longer saw her as an outsider!

Five years of marriage had made someone forget his status as a captive. When they got home, the daughters could wait—first, she needed to remind him who was really in charge of this household!
With that thought, Rosvisser flapped her wings and accelerated toward the sanctuary.
...
By noon, the couple returned to the Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
Oddly, no maids came out to greet them.
The entire front yard was empty. If Leon hadn’t seen guards patrolling the borders earlier, he would have thought some dragon with a death wish had invaded their home.
They stepped into the yard and looked around. No maids, and no daughters.
“Where did everyone go?” Rosvisser murmured.
Leon blinked, and a realization hit him.
“Oh! I know where they are!”
Rosvisser looked at him in surprise. “Know what? And how did you just get out of the wheelchair?”
“No, no, I mean, I know where Noa and the maids are.”
Leon turned to Rosvisser, who met his gaze.
The couple stared at each other for a moment before, in unison, exclaiming:
“They’re stealing offerings!”
