Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure-Chapter 2112: Tricked as kids (2)
The story that Undine told was actually quite interesting.
It was a story about when the water elementals first formed in this world.
The elementals had appeared as a form of mutation, they had appeared because of the concentration of elemental energy in the primordial form of this world.
From what Undine said, it seemed like even the gods hadn't predicted that the elementals would appear. Which was why they had offered to work with the elementals later on.
It was a way of getting them back under their control as the ones that created this world.
But putting that aside, the main reason why they treated Undine like this was because it had found the water elementals when they first formed.
Elementals all had different personalities based on the element that they were formed from.
The rock elementals were quite closed off and rough.
The fire elementals were quite open and frank.
The wind elementals were carefree.
Finally, the best way to describe the water elementals was that they were gentle.
Undine was also gentle because it was the Water Spirit King, but it wasn't as if it didn't have a mischievous side when it was younger. When it had found the water elementals, it had also just appeared in this world as well.
Which was why Undine had tricked the earliest water elementals into becoming its servants. Though the better way to describe it was that it had tricked them into believing that it was the princess of all water based lifeforms.
Since they were young, it wasn't as if they doubted Undine when it said this.
At the same time, the personalities of the water elementals came into play since they were gentle creatures to begin with and easily believed what Undine told them.
Though from the story that Undine told, I could tell that there was another reason that the water elementals believed it so easily.
When the water elementals first came into this world, it wasn't as if they were babies that didn't know a single thing. The water elementals did grow faster than human babies would, so it was more like a child than a baby.
That meant that the earliest water elementals did have some thoughts of their own.
"So that's why they're calling me princess. They should be old enough to know that I was just fooling them in the past, but they just won't drop this matter." Undine finished its story with a sigh.
I looked at the water elementals that had been silently listening to the story and I could see that none of them had any anger on their faces. In fact, it looked like they were fondly listening to a story that they had heard many times before.
"I mean, you took care of them quite a bit when they first came into this world. I don't think that they're as foolish as you think they are."
Undine was caught off guard when it heard this before looking at me as if it wasn't happy that I was saying this.
Even so, I said, "It's clear that you've got quite the talent for taking care of people. The fact that they are still calling you princess after all this time just shows how much care you showed them in the past."
Undine looked angry when it heard this, but it was easy to tell that this was just Undine acting angry out of embarrassment.
It really didn't seem like Undine wanted to hear this kind of praise.
On the contrary, the water elemental ancestors all reacted when I gave Undine this praise.
"That's right!"
"You should have seen the princess in the past!"
"The princess took care of us when we were in danger and helped protect us when those of us that were corrupted attacked the others."
"The princess was the one that put her life on the line to save us all!"
Undine glared at the water elemental ancestors when it heard this before saying, "Stop it already."
Though it didn't seem like the water elemental ancestors were planning on stopping. It seemed like they really wanted to keep praising Undine with everything that they had.
But Undine stopped them in the end by waving its hand and releasing a wave of water that pushed the water elementals aside. Since they were made of water in the first place, this really was the best way to stop the water elementals from continuing.
Though it wasn't as if that stopped them for long.
Since they were made of water, it wasn't as if this actually harmed them at all and it didn't take long for them to reform.
But this time, it seemed like they had finally come to accept me with how they approached the bubble.
They didn't increase their size like they had done previously and instead approached my water bubble in their normal size. It seemed like they had given up the idea of pressuring me and were approaching me in sincerity.
Though when they opened their mouths, I realized why they were doing this.
"Do you want to hear stories of our princess' greatness?"
The way that they said this was as if they were complete fans of Undine.
Though it did make sense with the way that they treated Undine.
It seemed like it was only natural that they would act this way when it came to Undine since they put it on such a high pedestal.
But it wasn't as if I was here to do that.
"There's no time for that." Undine was the one that cut them off by saying this before saying, "We have something to do."
The water elemental ancestors seemed disappointed when they heard this, but it wasn't as if they didn't know what Undine was talking about.
"Since he's the one from the prophecy, we'll take him to the source right now."
With Undine calling the shots, it really seemed like the water elementals would make things smooth for me.
Though it didn't seem like Undine was happy seeing them like this.
