"It's a long story." Undine said with a sigh in the end.

I looked at Undine with the same brow raised as I waited for it to explain, but it didn't seem like Undine was about to say anything.

The way that Undine looked at the water elemental ancestors, it really looked like it wanted to bury itself in a hole somewhere. Even though that really wouldn't work since we were surrounded by water like this.

After a moment of silence, Undine went forward to leave the water bubble.

Even though it left the water bubble, the bubble itself didn't seem affected at all as it didn't even tremble in this water pressure.

After leaving the water bubble, Undine went over to the five water elemental ancestors who actually shrunk down to match Undine's size.

Then in one swift move, Undine raised a hand to slap the heads of all of these water elemental ancestors. It was as if Undine didn't have a single trace of fear as it did this, even though we were surrounded by water elementals like this.

The funny thing was that none of the water elementals got angry.

None of the water elementals around us seemed to have any reaction to the fact that their ancestors had been slapped like this.

The strangest thing was that the water elemental ancestors were even smiling as if they were enjoying being slapped by Undine like this.

It really didn't suit the image of them as ancestors of these water elementals, but none of the water elementals really seemed to care about this. In fact, it even seemed like the water elementals were happy for their ancestors with how they looked at them.

It really was a strange scene seeing them all act like this.

The only one that didn't seem to be playing along was Undine who was genuinely angry with them.

"Why can't you just forget about the past already? You already know the truth, so there's no need for you to act like this." Undine said as if it was done with these water elemental ancestors.

But none of the water elemental ancestors seemed to care about what Undine said.

In fact, it was as if they were offended by this as they said, "No matter what, you are our princess."

The serious way that they said this was as if they wouldn't change their minds no matter what was said.

That just made me even more confused on why they were acting this way.

In the end, there was one thing that I had confirmed.

There was a deep relationship between the water elemental ancestors and Undine. It was the kind of relationship that had been built over a long period of time.

It was similar to the way that Lupus had acted around the wind elemental ancestor.

Though from the way that they were acting, it seemed that this relationship was more one sided compared to that one. The water elemental ancestors were clearly more enthusiastic about this than Undine.

Undine looked like it was done with the water elemental ancestors, so it came back to the water bubble and said, "This is my current contractor. He's here to help you with your problems."

That was when the water elementals finally noticed me.

During this entire time, they had only focused on Undine alone and they had ignored me. With how they acted, it was as if I just simply didn't exist when Undine was here.

However, now that Undine had introduced me, they immediately took note of me.

It was just that the way that they treated me showed that they were only taking notice for one reason.

"So you're the current contractor of our princess?"

Though they didn't say it in a hostile tone, it wasn't hard to hear what they were implying. At the same time, the water elemental ancestors seemed to make themselves a bit bigger as they approached the water bubble.

It was as if they were trying to put pressure on me with the way that they increased their size.

It was as if they were saying that they could crush this water bubble at any moment.

This certainly was a different experience from how I've been treated by any of the other elementals. Though it wasn't as if this was a bad thing since it was a fresh feeling compared to how it was with the other elementals.

It was even a bit funny seeing the water elemental ancestors acting this way.

After all, the only thing that they earned from acting this way was another smack to the head.

It seemed like they didn't care that they were being hit by Undine as they continued looking at me. It seemed like they wanted to make sure that everything was safe for Undine seeing as I was their contractor.

But once again, this was strange since this wasn't how the relationship between elementals and spirits should have been.

Undine just said with a sigh, "Back up and let me talk to him."

The water elemental ancestors seemed to hesitate a bit when they heard this before turning around to give me one last look. The way that they looked at me was very obvious, they were clearly trying to pressure me with their gaze once more.

Or it was even better to say that they were threatening me.

"If you do anything to our princess…"

They didn't have to say this, I could see it from the way that the water swirled around my water bubble.

But in the end, they still backed down since Undine chased them away.

After chasing them away, Undine came back into the water bubble and said, "So as you can see, they get a bit protective…"

That was an understatement, but I didn't say anything as I waited for Undine to explain still.

"It began a long time ago. Though it's better to say that they were tricked as kids, which is why they're acting this way."
