Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure-Chapter 1496: Back to school (5)
The kid that challenged me couldn't help looking annoyed when he heard me say this.
He narrowed his eyes to look at me before turning away.
It seemed that he was planning on acting cool until the very end.
As expected of a kid like this, but I was interested in seeing what he would show me.
Since he was a genius that was allowed to take lessons at the magic academy, he should have some skills.
Now if I were to steal those skills…
Once the two that would be facing each other was decided, the teacher raised her staff again to create a barrier. This was a barrier that was meant to protect those that were around us, rather than to protect the two of us from something.
It was to make sure that we didn't accidentally hurt the crowd while we were testing our magic.
The moment that this barrier was set up, the kid didn't waste any time in condensing his mana. With the way that he gathered his mana, it seemed that he was planning on using a single move to decide this.
It seemed that he wanted to cast some kind of large scale spell to finish me off.
But since he was only a kid, it wasn't as if he had that much mana in the first place. Mana was something that was trained over time, so it wasn't as if he could be born with enough mana to cast forbidden spells since he was born.
Though he certainly had more mana than normal magicians at the same age since he was a genius.
Still, he was a kid.
It wasn't as if he was going to finish casting his spell that quickly.
So that was my chance to teach him a lesson.
I raised my hand in front of me and started gathering flames before he could release this large scale spell of his.
But of course, the kid had also expected this.
That was why there were two barriers in front of him.
For a kid, being able to raise two barriers like this was already quite impressive.
However, it wasn't just two normal barriers that he had raised in front of him.
These were special barriers that were made from folding barriers, so there were actually five barriers that were folded on top of each other in each of these barriers. It was a total of ten barriers that had been formed.
Five barriers seemed to be his limit, but that didn't mean that any of these barriers were weak.
Five barriers folded on top of each other, there was no doubting the kind of defensive power that was contained within one of these barriers.
But I wasn't worried at all.
This was just a test of our power, so it wasn't as if I was planning on breaking through with a single attack.
I was just planning on using this single spell to distract him, so there was nothing to lose from shooting it out.
At the same time, it allowed me to test out a few things that I had learned.
"If I concentrate the flame here and create a twist here, then it should be stronger than normal." I thought in my mind as I molded the flames into a fireball.
Then once I was satisfied, I shot it out.
The kid had a sneer on his face when he saw this, but he didn't panic as he allowed his barriers to go forward to block this fireball. It was only when the fireball made contact with the barrier that his expression started to change.
There was now a look of panic that was on his face.
This was because the moment that the fireball made contact with the barrier, the barrier melted away.
It was as if this barrier offered no resistance at all against this fireball.
It was as if the barrier was made of paper and the fireball…well was made of flames.
At the same time, it wasn't just a single barrier that was destroyed by the fireball.
It was all of the layered barriers that were being destroyed.
The kid had no choice but to stop gathering his mana and dodge out of the way. Only the moment that this fireball went past him and slammed into the barrier behind him…
"Boom!"
The flames that came from this explosion threw the kid forward and he landed in front of me.
After landing, he couldn't help looking up at me with a look of shock as he said, "What did you do? How could you cast a high grade spell that quickly?"
I was just as confused as him since I had no idea what happened either.
After all, all I had done was cast a normal fireball which was to be used as a distraction.
This definitely wasn't some kind of high grade spell, it was just the lowest grade fireball spell.
Yet it had this kind of effect.
What I was looking at was a large hole that had been blasted in the barrier that the teacher put up.
If it wasn't for the fact that this barrier was up, the fireball would have blown up the kids that had been sitting in their seats watching the magic duel.
The teacher quickly raised her staff again and reformed the barrier. However, the barrier was completely different this time as she had layered it like the kid had done.
It seemed that she no longer trusted the single layer barrier that she made.
Once the teacher was done, she turned to look at me with the same look that the kids did.
Only I really didn't have an explanation for this?
What I had cast was just a normal fireball spell.
It wasn't as if I did anything special with it other than applying some of the basics that I had learned in this class and from the Magic Exhibition yesterday.
It shouldn't have had this kind of power…
