She Professed Herself The Pupil Of The Wiseman (WN)-Chapter 286: Lost Wild (1)

「Still, finally a tournament. I’m looking forward to fighting too!」
Putting the matter with Meilin aside for a bit, Mira became excited at the prospect of being in such a public event and being able to show summoners were still present and strong. She obviously was eyeing the free-for-all division. She knew she would eventually face off against Meilin there as well, but they had trained together in the past, so Mira knew of ways to fight against her.
She could not stop smiling thinking of the Legendary piece of equipment and 5,000,000,000 Rils she could get as a prize.
But all of her dreams came crashing down.
「Ah, I actually wanted to tell you about that too…」
Solomon seemed slightly hesitant to bring that up, seeing just how much Mira was getting lost in her little dreamworld, but he had to be frank with her. Nirvana had also sent a letter telling him to please tell the Spirit Queen Mira to abstain from participating in the tournament.
「What…did you say..?」
Mira had grown in popularity as the Spirit Queen so fast she was already coming crashing down. She tried to protest, saying that if anything she should be invited into the exclusive division instead, but Solomon then told her, 「I think they’re starting to realize who you really are.」
The higher-ups in Nirvana had started to suspect that the Spirit Queen had been the Wiseman Danbulf all along.
Arkite and Nirvana shared a stronger friendship than in the past, as Nirvana’s current ruler was the younger sister of Artesia’s late husband. That sister was also in this world now.
Because of that, Arkite and Nirvana shared a very close friendship.
But they had been on friendly terms in the past as well, and there had been many times when adventurers from both countries formed parties or trained together. That past experience was also likely the reason for that letter.
「I can’t believe that…」
Because they knew each other so well, they began to suspect who the Spirit Queen really was. And because Mira also knew them well, she wondered if the respect and dignity she used to command was gone.
「Well, you’ve been traveling all over the place, so people who knew you in the past could easily tell who you are. I also noticed right away.」
It was too late to change what she had done, and Solomon felt like it was an inevitable result considering how much she had made her summons stand out. But he kept those thoughts to himself, and instead showed her the letter itself, which read almost like an excuse.
In short, the letter asked if the adventurer known as the Spirit Queen was actually one of the Nine Wisemen, and if that was the case, to please stop her from taking part in the tournament. At the end, it said that it was a direct plea from the Twelve Apostles.
「This is probably still a continuation of what happened back then…」
The Nine Wisemen and the Twelve Apostles would often carry out sham battles against each other. Both sides would win a decent amount of times, but there was one condition the Twelve Apostles had put to continue those, for The Army to stay out.
They had lost all will to fight after struggling to stand against the Valkyrie Sisters who were each incredibly powerful, and then being swarmed by Dark Knights who rose one after another endlessly.
Those same Twelve Apostles would be fighting in the showmatch at the end of the tournament, and they were already having flashbacks just thinking of Mira getting that far.
That was why they sent that letter to Solomon. As an attempt to make up for it, at the end of the letter they added in an apologetic tone, ‘If anything, we welcome her as one of the commentators.’
「That’s outrageous…」
Because of her past evils(?), Mira had lost the best opportunity to showcase summoning to the world. She felt disheartened as it all dawned on her, until she suggested continuing to pretend to be Danbulf’s pupil instead, so she could participate.
「It’s best if you give up this time. You don’t want to cause them more unnecessary trouble, do you?」
While the Twelve Apostles avoided any sort of combat against Danbulf, they were good friends in every other aspect. They were always reliable allies during raids, so Solomon was right.
In the end, Mira gave a defeated goodbye to Solomon and left the castle, regretting not keeping a lower profile in the past. It was time to give Emilia her personal lesson.
Mira’s life after hearing of the tournament in Nirvana continued without much change. There was still quite a lot of time left before the event would start, and it would also take time for Meilin’s disguise to be complete.
Regardless of how talented the maids were, it was still a difficult task to create a dress without precise measurements. Solomon and Luminaria were able to provide rough estimates, but it was not quite enough, especially considering how much of a tight fit it would need to have to look good on Meilin while allowing her to fight unimpeded.
The design group was working overtime to make it happen, and somehow they proved their worth and completed a design, which was being created now.

Mira needed to bring the disguise to Meilin at the tournament, and that was only possible once it was complete, so Mira was able to continue her regular life until then.
And she was not wasting that time by any means. She was busy with her research and experiments, training Creos, Emilia’s personal lessons, and so on.
Thanks to Mira’s guidance and Emilia’s own efforts, her abilities had improved dramatically in just a few days. She was already able to simultaneously summon three Dark Knights at once now, which impressed even Mira.
Creos was not falling behind either. Because of his position, he had a far more grueling training regiment than Emilia, and his determination was also rewarded.
Now he was nearly at the point of being able to partially summon a Holy Knight during actual combat, and he was able to combine that with simultaneous summoning. He was also very close to mastering how to partially summon a Dark Knight.
On top of all that, he was also teaching at the Academy as a temporary teacher, training the actual instructor Hinata, and reviewing how to structure the classes with her.
Overall, those days were extremely busy, so when the weekend came around, Mira decided to also take a break from teaching. Emilia was saddened by that, but felt better once Mira told her that taking time to regain energy and catch one’s breath was important when learning as well. Creos was not bothered by it, and even seemed relieved.
But Mira continued working that day, continuing her research in the morning and planning her next lessons for Emilia and Creos, discussing with the Spirit King about how to unlock Extraordinary Summons, and testing out various types of Magic Bomb Sealing Stones. She was busy, but she enjoyed it.
That went on until noon, when the Spirit King questioned her for telling others to rest while she pushed herself like that, and she actually agreed with him, and decided to take the rest of the day off.
「Ohh, they remodelled a store?」
Mira was enjoying the early afternoon with Mariana, when she mentioned a store that piqued Mira’s interest.
The store was called Wild Buddy. It was a pet store with all sorts of items on sale, and that was where Mariana had bought everything for Luna. It had closed temporarily for about a month to renew the place, and they were having their grand reopening sale today.
It was quite a bold move to have a sale during a weekend, so Mira commended the employees’ dedication as she stood up.
「Alright, why don’t we go check it out then?」
She had seen all the nifty things Mariana had bought for Luna, so Mira was curious to see what the store selling them looked like. With that desire in mind, she picked up Luna and held it to her chest.
Then she told Luna that they were going out, and Luna let out a happy squeak. Mariana obviously also got up and went with them.
「It’s that one over there.」
「Ohh! It’s even bigger than I thought it would be.」
Alongside the main street which also had a view of the Silver Linked Towers, they found the pet store Wild Buddy.
「And it’s even fancier than I thought.」
