Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!-Chapter 2230: Unconventionally Wealthy
The player named Yong’an indeed seems to be seeking shelter, but doesn’t fully trust the situation, stacking several defense props on himself before daring to rest on the chair, while healing his injuries and restoring his stamina.
Other players in the carriage do not interfere with each other, most are closing their eyes and resting.
Xu Huo checked the belongings of those three players.
There are indeed quite a few props, with the A-level props reaching a total of thirty-five items, half of which are defense props. These include large-scale defense props that control the size of the defensive barrier, as well as passive defense props attached to the body. One of the defense props is called "Free Action", whose defensive barrier can enlarge or shrink following the holder’s movements, essentially like an elastic bubble surrounding the person, which changes as they move and doesn’t hinder engaging opponents; if the barrier is strong enough and the quality of offensive props is not that good, fighting through the barrier is possible.
There’s also a multi-layered defensive prop "Within Reach", which can open one or multiple layers as needed. The largest layer can protect half a small city, while the smallest layer only extends within ten meters of the holder. Each barrier is an isolated layer that does not connect with others.
As for A-level offensive props, Xu Huo previously took away a set of flying knives named "Working Hours". This set consists of twenty knives, made from a flexible metal, which can be used as standalone flying knives or altered to combine into handheld weapons or a large cone. It’s called "Working Hours" because its various attack modes are preset; once the knives are thrown, they will track the target based on the pre-set trajectory and are not remotely controlled by the holder. In other words, once these knives are scattered, they need to be retrieved one by one.
However, the ability to combine into other forms is a highlight, as it can be used as an offensive weapon or a defense prop.
There’s also a surprise attack prop named "Pie from the Sky"; this item is of the same type as "Death of the Holder", able to fix and ambush above others’ heads, though its success rate is yet to be determined.
Other offensive props include handheld and long-range types, but their lethality is very limited, or like the Black Blade, require specific conditions to be used for large-scale slashing, with these props’ advantage mainly lying in their own toughness.
Only one special item, called "I Can Electrify", is notable. The name is quite fitting as it can release high voltage electricity during attacks and change positions through the holder’s hand movements, being very flexible. The premise is the holder can withstand this electricity.
No wonder it wasn’t used.
There are two removal props, capable of randomly removing the closest prop to oneself. Observing the battles of those three A-level players, they are used quite frequently.
Just one explosive prop.
Possibly related to their combat habits, their props mainly focus on defense and attack, without standalone or auxiliary props for removing characteristics or enhancing fighting capabilities.
Rank-B props are even more abundant, but whether they are for attack, defense, removal, or auxiliary props like hovering or speed-up, there are over fifty practical items.
No props below Rank-C.
Special items are scarce. Probably to purchase A-level props, they maximally sold whatever they didn’t need; the three of them combined only had three special items: one "Cocoon World", one "Misfortune Diversion", one "Pleasant Journey".
"Cocoon World" is the spatial artifact the female player used for escape before. This artifact’s description states "In the absence of interference, it is nearly unbreakable, with no similar attack prop capable of destroying it", so the female player used it to forcefully break the Secant Line to escape, which indeed did not harm her in the front carriage; if not encountering Super Props, she should have successfully escaped.
"Misfortune Diversion" can mislead the enemy once, as long as it briefly disappears from the enemy’s sight, it can disrupt the enemy’s judgment and lead them to the east—only to the east.
Quite practical.
"Pleasant Journey" is a venue-related prop, similar in function to the "Snowflake Hotel", but is excellent in its ability to simulate environments, meaning it can conceal traces to a certain extent.
Looking at the entire prop inventory, these three are from well-off backgrounds but far from extraordinarily wealthy. A-level prop functions conflict too much, offering some advantages but the inability to reasonably use the number advantage in combat makes it less effective; especially when many props require personal activation, overall quality is not considered top-notch among A-level props.
Of course, these are the most commonly seen in sold props, whereas artifacts like "Cocoon World" are not often found in regular circulation channels, most likely obtained from instances.
To Xu Huo, the most excellent ones are "Cocoon World", "Misfortune Diversion", and "I Can Electrify".
Not sure if these individuals spent their savings on props acquisition. Apart from a few instruments, tickets, potions, White Notes, all are running out. Previously, occasionally seeing special packages or coupons in other players’ items, there weren’t any; even the luggage compartment is clean, other players’ compartments are overflowing, needing to discard stuffs; theirs is very neat, just some detection tools, daily items, food, training documents, and planning materials, the most noteworthy are a few gemstones seemingly unsold yet, and a meteorite with special effects.
Xu Huo examined a meteorite stored in a special box; the suspected toxic dust given off when they boarded was ground from it. This meteorite is unusually high in temperature, and those players should have treated it in advance, with some ready-made poison-mixed powder left beside it.
After checking it with a detector, it’s confirmed as a meteorite not considered high level, but its usage is very special, capable of maintaining high temperature for a long time, linked to the constructed box.
Overall, it did not meet Xu Huo’s expectations—poor in a unique way.
However, in their planning, the bounty information for this time was found, issued from an area at the B37 Wormhole Point, but not Zone 008, requiring either a B-Level Psychic Evolver’s corpse or related records for a bounty. One head can fetch a hundred million White Notes, along with two Advanced items provided by the bounty issuer; additionally, all properties of the killed person go to the bounty hunters.
A hundred million White Notes, an unreasonably high price; B-Level Player heads are not that valuable, let alone accepting any comers, indicating the wealth of the bounty issuer.
The bounty is issued by a specialized intermediary organization, unsure if related to Zone 008’s Tian Family, though investigating these now holds no meaning, as Xu Huo has already reached the station.
