Shattering Humanity-Chapter 70: No Promises

A lightly beaten up Shelly and Katsu are sparring in a brightly lit room with colorfully padded flooring and walls. They are now wearing plain black tee shirts, grey sweatpants, and all black sneakers.

Itsuka, is in her new matching clothes, with of course, the tee shirt being torn at the mid section exposing her toned abdominal muscles. She is sitting with her back against the wall and her legs out straight, so a sad looking Friend can rest his head in her lap. He’s looking at the door, waiting for his master to walk through.

Daisuki and Scylia, her eye in 2nd stage, with a pink aura, are standing against the wall with Scylia leaning slightly on Daisuki as they watch the two.

Shelly is obviously pulling her punches and barely touching Katsu when she connects. She throws a punch and it barely begins to connect with Katsu’s cheek. She gets wide-eyed and pulls back her fist, and in her realization and focus towards not hurting Katsu, he lands a hit on her that does just enough damage to make another small scratch on her face, then she readjusts her mindset and dodges the rest of Katsu’s attempted combo and backflips out.

Daisuki looks upset and Scylia looks up at him worried.

Scylia: "It’s not her fault Master Mina, she loves him. And are you sure this is the best thing for her after everything that they went through today?"

Daisuki: "This is for both of their own confidence building, ’Scyl’. Katsu needs to better learn how to fight, especially now that he has an IceEye and we’re wanted by people who can fight. While Shelly needs to know Katsu can handle his own so it doesn’t distract her during battle. While that Aiden boy is with your brother exploring the science and medical terminals of the sanctuary, these two can train. Shelly, come on! Give him just one good clean shot, make him know how one feels!"

Itsuka looks up at him, annoyed, from the floor while petting the softly whining 3 year old German shepherd "puppy".

Itsuka: "Aye that affects the bet! You said you wouldn’t say anything while they fought, you lost!"

Daisuki: "Yea. Yea. I’ll deliver my end of the bargain. I’m always good for it."

Itsuka: "You better."

Shelly and Katsu, with his Lefty IceEye, make eye contact while panting from their "fight". Katsu smiles at Shelly while still breathing heavily.

Katsu: "He’s right Shelly *huffpuff* you’re not doing me any *huffpuff* favors going easy on me.*huffpuff* If I can learn to fight and ’sorta’ keep up with someone like yourself, we’ll be making Takamagahara and ’OUR’ Izanagi Division even stronger! (holds up his fist) So bring it on!"

Shelly looks down at the padded floor, a drip of sweat hits the floor, she closes her eyes and grits her teeth. The resolved young woman opens her eyes and looks at her purpose.

Shelly: "Please try to defend yourself as best as possible Katsu, please."

Katsu(smiles): "No promises."

They both get in their fighting stance and humanly lock eyes. Daisuki suddenly gets a surprised look and so does Scylia.

From Katsu’s PoV, Shelly is a good 10 feet away.

He blinks.

Within a split second, she is right in front of him. With her fist cocked back, she starts bringing it forward but before she can connect.

Daisuki: "Stop! Don’t!"

Shelly’s fist stops centimeters in front of Katsu’s nose and his hair blows slightly from the wind of Shelly’s fist. His eyes wide open.

Shelly, Katsu and Itsuka quickly look at a worried Daisuki looking at Scylia, her eye is still in 2nd Stage, a gloomy blue aura emitting.

Daisuki: "Don’t deactivate it yet!"

Scylia:"I know. I know. The last moment of your clone’s consciousness was screaming it...but really Master Daisuki? Just for that boy’s clone to bring that briefcase back?"

Katsu: "Is-."

Itsuka gets up and makes Friend get up too.

Itsuka: "Is Saku OK?!"

Daisuki ignores Itsuka and looks at Katsu in a confusing way.

Daisuki: "What was that last thing you just said to Shelly?"

Back in the city, the smirking Daisuki Clone is looking at an irritated Saku. The sound of destruction is still off in the distance but the trembling and shaking of the city around them is getting stronger.

The rest of the group of Dom, TayTay, Sol, and Aiden’s clone, watch on, out of the loop about the current situation and why the clone is smiling.

However, Saku’s face turns from irritated, to a returning smirk back at the clone of his mentor.

Saku: "I know you’re a dumbass clone, I don’t care who you look like. I’m sorry to remind you, clone of D, I’m not unnecessarily sentimental like Katsu..."

Saku unsheathes his SunSword and holds the tip of the bright orange sword, up to the clone of Daisuki’s neck. It’s so close it singes the clones beard around the blade.

Saku: "...if you wanna play mind games, you nominated me as Division Izanami leader. We have no time for this stupid shit, we’re less than a 10 minute run back to the school, so make sure the real you has a portal open in that gymnasium big enough for TayTay when we get there."

There is a loud crash and the sounds of giant Icemen destruction is getting closer.

Sol and Dom watch as a chunk of a brick building can be seen flying in the direction of the school into a glass building. They watch from a distance as it rains glass down the building.

Clone Daisuki holds up the black briefcase and looks at the fellow clone and lightly nods his head.

Daisuki Clone: "Dom, catch this for Aiden."

He tosses the briefcase, Dom cleanly catches it by the handle and hands it to the clone of his Squad Captain. A worried looking Aiden Clone takes the briefcase. Daisuki’s clone looks back at Saku and smiles at his soon to be killer.

Daisuki Clone: "Don’t open that until you get back, it’s a surprise."

Saku: "No promises."

Saku in one quick slice, like a hot steel knife through butter, cuts the Daisuki clone’s smiling head off and it falls to the light snow covered ground. The SunSword cauterizing the neck so minimal blood comes from its body. Aiden’s Clone has his face behind the briefcase.

Dom is looking at Saku in distrust. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Dom: "It’s that easy for you to just do that, huh?"

TayTay, because of his intelligence, is unaware of the entire situation and looks frightened from seeing his most beloved friend Sock, kill what he believes is another human.

Sol: "WHAT THE HELL!??!"

Saku doesn’t acknowledge either comment, keeping his back turned towards the group. The clone of Aiden looks closely, at Saku’s lit SunSword in his lightly shaking hand at his side.

After a few seconds the Daisuki Clone explodes into snow and makes everyone jump in surprise, except a teeth gritting Saku, who sheathes his still bright sword. He doesn’t turn to look at them as he talks to them in a monotone voice.

Saku: "I’m in charge now. If you don’t trust me because of this stupidity, you can get crushed for all I care, I have my ’purposes’ to get back to."

Saku begins running in the direction of the school. Dom looks at Aiden’s clone and Sol hops on the back of Taylor and sounds depressed.

Sol: "Let’s go Big Guy."

They all start running behind Saku, who is back to being pissed, and with a tear in his human eye.
