Chapter 433: "To Live Means To Suffer, And To Suffer Means To Live."

"May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him. May you blow them away like smoke as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God. But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

When you, God, went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness, the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance. Your people settled in it, and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor." -Psalms 68:1-10

_______________

[Faithful Friends Firehouse]

Outside of the abandoned brick building SeiõrSnow continues to fall around the group of Saku, Laban, Aiden, Xaaydagaay, and Friend as the genius of the group proudly promotes and explains the new (to him) invention.

Laban DaeMon: "That won’t work..."

Now it is both Saku and Aiden being caught off guard by Laban’s input.

They turn and see teary eyed Laban remembering something.

Saku: "Huh?"

As she recollects herself the black haired Daemon’s heterospecies eyes dry up without dripping a tear or snowflake. She then looks at Aiden and relights her blunt while repeating herself.

Laban DaeMon: "Seiõr ain’t electricity, numbnuts.

It’s not as compatible with the molecules of salt carbohydrates as it is with all natural cane sugars.

Not to mention you can increase the total battery life if you replaced that iodized water from the metal pipes with carbonated sparkling water."

Saku, being able to read her body language, pieces together exactly how this female delinquent DaeMon knows this incredibly specific scientific information.

Aiden however can’t believe what he is hearing and in complete disregard to her personal space, the inventor gets up close to Laban’s tattooed face.

Aiden: "What?!

How would you know that?!"

Laban backs away in disgust but quickly regains her thoughts.

In a slightly depressed manner, she puffs out the smoke with her eyes closed.

Laban DaeMon: "Sorry to break it to ya kid, but you’re not the first ’wizard’ in the world to create a ’Buzz Battery’."

Knowing the name of the infamous inventor, Saku, fearing the possibility Laban might use their shared Nye-omnipotency ocular ability to find out her dear friend is still alive, but on the enemy side, quickly tries to change the topic.

He quickly turns to the North and activates his blessed, left Anjell Eye. His respective misty Yin aura is released from the symbiote as he checks in on the rest of Takamagahara.

Letting out a deep sigh, the attention diverging tactic works, turning Laban’s focus towards her one true God.

Saku: "I can’t see through Zoram’s technique, but from what my Nye-omnipotency can show me, Itsuka, Princess Rebekah, Zoram and the Sanpaku residents are hidden under a veil of Seiõr.

Dom, Sol, TayTay, Char and Scylia are still spread out, scouting the Demon District. Luckily, none of them have come in contact with the enemy.

Meanwhile, D is still watching over the captives from that destroyer ship we stole."

Slightly frustrated, Saku shakes his hair tied head.

Saku: "Unfortunately, they all have been basically indoctrinated into believing we are a violent resurgence group.

They think we are trying to rebirth the Nazi ideology of a ’perfect race’.

And without much knowledge of the symbiotes, those people see Shelly’s clones as proof we want only blonde haired, blue eyed humans to coexist with IceEye users."

Laban’s nose twitches from hearing the news and shakes her head in disgust while exhaling.

She drops the still burning blunt roach to the pavement, and the DaeMon smothers it out with the bottom of her shoe.

Laban DaeMon: "Fear and anger are the main ingredients towards a successful political mind control of a populous.

Believe me, I would know."

The phrasing of Laban’s statement catches Saku’s attention before the Nye-omnipotent Vessel can check up on Shelly, as well as his contemporary force.

He deactivates his Anjell Eye and the aura fades away.

Looking down at the crushed remains of her finished blunt, the regretful Scandinavian witch recalls her dark past.

Laban DaeMon: "Because of my knowledge on Seiõr, Zoram’s short list of useful techniques, my inhumane strength, and an acquired Eyelien ability, allowing me to know exactly what my sisters knew, I thought I had an advantage over every mortal eye user.

When I first found out about the symbiotes, I saw all the people who viewed Roronora City as a sanctuary as possible soldiers, and encouraged survivors into gaining power while under my ruling thumb.

During my reign over Roronora, I deliberately controlled the only available daily news outlet to trick the citizens with an Eyelien into believing if they didn’t belittle, discourage, or abuse those without a symbiote, sooner or later those weaker humans would revolt and an Eyelien user genocide would be imminent."

Both Friend and Xaaydagaay can sense the guilty emotion emanating from the unnaturally born witch.

Laban DaeMon: "Instead of attempting to replicate Skalmönd or my sister’s methods of sanguinity to become stronger, I used fear of this new world and the hate from the easy to persuade to push an agenda. Tricking helpless individuals who originally saw me as a harbinger of safety. When in actuality, I was only being another hateful voice trying to form discrimination."

Taking a deep breath of fresh air, the regretful ex-Don looks up at the partly cloudy sky while painfully remembering her shameful, and scandalous tyranny.

Laban DaeMon: "Saki..."

Quietly listening to his ally’s regrets, Saku can’t help but feel sorry for the sin riddled woman. Knowing each time she recalls her evil acts, it is also the exact reason why the Yin Vessel decided to forgive her and help the corrupted DaeMon reclaim a righteous, sin free life.

Laban DaeMon: "...I really don’t want to be known as the bad guy anymore, but everything I’ve done to all those innocent people, make that desired existence impossible."

Having to accept her own molded fate, Laban clenches her teeth and tightens her barely shaking fist by her side.

Laban DaeMon: "As long as I am part of your group here, whatever evil I’ve done, it will also be placed on the rest of you guys.

It’s exactly why that Unchosen Yin wants to kill Princess Rebekah too.

All because of my shitty choices and decisions I made as the Don of that dumb, worthless, fallen city.

...

I’m so sorry, Saki."

Making her flinch in surprise, a soft, damp lick/kiss on her white knuckles from Friend makes the tense DaeMon ease up.

She looks down, wide eyed at the friendly white/tan canine ’smiling’ up at her with his tongue hanging out, panting.

Laban DaeMon: "Wha-..."

Saku: "I’ve already told you Laban..."

A soft hand lands on her shoulder and the two IceEye users lock in on each other due to a close quarters EyeEngagement.

Saku: "... Anyone who has a problem with the ongoing rehabilitation of your soul will have to answer to me first.

All those ’justice seekers’ who believe the death penalty is the only appropriate punishment for someone guilty such as yourself, whether that means killing you or the assassination of your daughter as revenge, those individuals are no better than you were at your worst, for having such opinions.

To live means to suffer, and to suffer means to live.

Just as the plants and trees grow stronger through environmental stress, all concepts of life can only grow stronger by surviving through one’s tough surroundings."

Blushing Laban is hooked on every encouraging word her young leader pronounces.

Saku: "So yea, you may have caused a lot of suffering in the past and you should be held accountable for it all."

Breaking their EyeEngagement, the DaeMon disappointed in herself drops her head in shame.

Saku: "That being said, the accountability for the sinful should be put towards helping others still alive to suffer less, but that can’t be done without the remorseful’s availability.

Killing the guilty and unforgivable only creates more suffering in the end."

Raising her head back up in shock, the sudden movement shakes out a single guilt filled tear and a remorseful solo snowflake.

Laban DaeMon: "Sa...ki..."

Releasing his grip on his female follower’s shoulder, Saku then crouches down to award his helpful, four legged buddy with a soft pat on the head and a scratch under the dog’s chin.

Saku: "I’ve already reprimanded and chewed you out for what you’ve done wrong, Laban.

But I also believe you are a victim who has had to play the role of an enforcer because of your own fear towards a theistic ruled world, that has hunted for mysterious, ’magical’ people who are different, such as yourself.

Not to mention, being abandoned by your only known source of a family, I can understand why you decided to tread life the way you did until the day we met." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

A jealous Xaaydagaay sees her fur covered canine companion getting some loving attention and wiggles herself into Saku’s line of sight. A slight smile grows on the academy delinquent’s face before he pets the half orca woman’s head, making her whistle and tongue click in a thankful glee.

During their sentimental talk, Saku and Laban had forgotten all about Aiden and the Izanami captain realizes this. From a crouched position, his head swivels, looking for the smartest of Takamagahara.

Saku: "Wait a second.

Where the fu-"

Aiden: "Alright!

Let’s get going!"

From his small workshop, Aiden excitedly tosses open the rolling, vinyl overhead door.

Having quickly changed out of his prototype version of the Seiõr battery, the brainiac is now wearing a hiking bag, a map of Kami Island in one hand, and in the other is a textbook titled ’Fielding, Farming, and Gathering: A Novice’s Guide For What Is Safe To Consume & How To Store A Surplus’.

Both Saku and Laban raise an eyebrow at the over enthusiast young man ready to leave the safety of their brick building.

Saku: "Where the Hell do you think you’re going, Nerd?"

Aiden rechecks his over excitement and quickly gets embarrassed.

He rubs the back of his head and tries to chuckle it off.

Aiden: "Hehe...

W-Well I assumed, if you two aren’t doing anything involving the Vinland invasion for a few hours, maybe you guys could help me collect everything I’ll need to grow pure sugar cane inside."

Not wanting to have any part of the "nerd’s fun", Laban sucks her teeth at the assumption and gives him a stink eyed glare.

Laban DaeMon: "Tsk, well you know what they say about assuming, right?"

However, Saku lightly elbows her and nods over towards their smartest ally.

Saku: "Come on.

For what he’s gunna use it for, that’s a chance to end someone’s suffering in the future."

With no other signs of a refusal, Laban willfully accepts the offer, lovingly linking her arm with Saku’s.

Completely reversing her attitude the lovestruck DaeMon snuggles up to him, once again using this opportunity to get ahead of Itsuka in their personal War of Love.

Laban DaeMon: "Okay my Saki!

I’ll go wherever you want to take me!"

Knowing he has successfully turned Laban’s attention away from Buzz and her own past guilt, Saku reluctantly sighs off the infatuated Daemon’s invasion of his personal space.
