Chapter 324: The Father, The Son, And The Holy Ghost?

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:1-8

Somewhere within the darkness, a crying, sniffling little boy can be heard.

The boy with a British accent pleads for someone to stop, even though nothing can be heard hitting, whipping, cutting, or shooting him.

Little Boy’s Voice: "It hurts.

It hurts.

Stop this.

Please, no more.

I can’t take it!

Mama Skalmönd...

Mama Fryer...

Please...

Please hurry...

Please save me from her..."

[Erebus City Arcade, Current Day]

Stephanie: "That’s not what I’m worried about anymore Tritty.

Madame MamMon said these powers could possibly hurt anyone who scared me.

What happens if one of the girls accidentally startles me and I end up...I end up..."

Tristan: "Stephanie!

Stephanie!

Relax!"

Stephanie: "I can’t Tristan...

Why- why can’t I relax Tristan?"

Tristan embraces her and snaps the worried woman out of her funk.

Her eyes fill up with tear as soon as the love of her life whispers to her.

Tristan(whispers): "Because I’ll stop you, and you’re powers.

I’ll never let you hurt those little girls.

I swear on it as both your husband and as their protector."

...

Buzz: "But I failed...

I failed, and I suck...

*hiccup* and not only that, *hiccup* I come to find out Don Laban has punked out *hiccup* and sided with the bastards who turned Roronora City into a lake of blood..."

Her larger friend, Nomad, rubs her pal’s back in an attempt to comfort her.

Nomad: "Oh come on, Buzz Ball!

Remember what Willy said before we initiated the prison break?

’Some of us will die, but that’s for the price of life’."

The man Wilson looks annoyed. Gripping the handle of his mug tightly, a vein pops out from his temple, and he talks through gritted teeth

Wilson: "I thought I asked you to refrain from calling me that, ’Gnome’."

Nomad: "Whatchu call me!?"

A barrier of Seiõr appears between the two arguing refugees and they turn to see MamMon with her hand out, covered in the same crystal purple Seiõr.

MamMon DæMon: "I think there has been enough conflict for today, don’t you both agree?

It’s probably best if we all decompress here for now and try figure out more about one another if we are going to try and cooperate.

Agreed?"

Both of the arguing teammates give reluctant looks towards each other and turn their heads without any nods of agreement.

The DæMon sits back down and resumes fidgeting with something in her hands, under the table.

Nephilim looks at the small, completely wasted woman and sees her alien symbiote in the right eye socket.

Buzz looks at him and the two EyeEngage by accident.

Buzz: "Mayybe you shlood tayga picslur, ya creep *hic*."

They disengage and Nephilim give her a smile and slight chuckle in response.

Nephilim: "I apologize Ms. Buzz, but I couldn’t help noticing you too have one of these IceEyes."

Wilson: "What on God’s Earth are IceEyes?

Is that what you call Symb-eye-otes."

MamMon DæMon: "How quaint."

Unentertained by the new title for the aliens that attach themselves to humans, in her green nail painted hands, MamMon DæMon is finishing shaving down Lil’ Lævateinn’s thorns on the handle.

Her face goes to an annoyed grimace.

MamMon DæMon(thinking): *Oh shut up, you ungrateful cry baby.

Don’t you think it’s time to man up by now?

It’s been over 800 years.

Because of my ambitions, you have been used for greatness.

Not hiding away with some old legends.*

She checks her handy work with a smile before tucking the engraved dagger back into the darkness of her cloak.

Buuz has her head down on the table and drunkenly tells the two leaders her eye’s ability.

Buzz: "Eggshamination- Aye."

The General, not having Nye-omnipotency looks confused.

Nephilim: "I’m sorry?"

Buzz: "Exclamato-Guy!"

Nephilim looks over at both Nomad and Wilson. They chuckle at there friend and the ex-military man explains for her. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Wilson: "From what I know, it’s called the Examination-Eye.

I’m not too familiar with these alien eyes myself, but from what she’s exhibited from aiding me and other PoWs out of capture, this little gal is one tough SoB."

Nomad sits down and pats Buzz’s black and teal hair.

Nomad: "She told me her friend from that city allowed her to come and find me.

I’m her Aunt, and the only other female figure she’s had in life.

When I saw her with one of those symb-eye-otes it was a bit of a shock."

Buzz’s muffled light snoring can be heard. Nomad smiles knowing her niece is safe and her savior.

Nomad: "But she’s a hero for sure."

Nephilim admires the physically gifted woman’s appreciation of her family.

Nephilim: "So this ’Examination-Eye’ what does it do exactly."

Nomad: "From what she’s explained to me, it allows her to figure out what is wrong with a vehicle or vessel.

In the engineering industry, finding out what the problem is with the mechanism can be the most difficult and time consuming part, but with Buzz’s ability, all she needs to do is look at the problemed ’thing’ and BOOM she knows what is wrong with it and how to fix it."

Nephilim: "Amazing...

So she can fix anything?

Even..."

Nomad: "Even the human vessel..."

The surprised General looks over, questionably at the woman across the table.

MamMon, already knowing more about the ability than even Buzz, listens intently to see if these new visitors can be considered allies.

Nomad: "It surprised me too.

From what she’s explained to me, I guess the logic behind it is, our bodies are just a different form of vehicle for something else.

I don’t have one of those alien eyes, but she has told me, ever since she’s gotten one, whenever someone dies, a cloud or soul leaves the vessel and it floats to the sky."

The sentimental thought makes Nephilim turn around and look over at his Squad.

Bethany is sitting up, on the floor. Waking up from her unconsciousness, shaking her head in her hand.

Next to her, Tristan and Stephanie are getting out of the booth. The loving man has a cup full of tokens that he shakes and the worried love of his life smiles while they walk towards the flashing lights of a skee ball alley.

He turns back around to hear the ending to Nomad’s explanation.

Nomad: "I always thought it was an actual crazy coincidence, since she was really into mechanics, fixing things, and taking care of others when she was a child."

She lightly pets the side of sleeping, drooling Buzz’s head while a few tears come to the Aunt’s eyes.

Nomad: "Her Papa would be so proud."

MamMon DæMon: "Well, Ms. Lemaux from what she’s explained to you, your niece is inquiring about the spirit within all living beings."

Nomad: "How do you-

Oh yea, your complete knowledge...

You can just call me Nomad."

MamMon DæMon: "Excuse my error.

But back to the subject at hand, your niece would be right.

We are all just ’bags of meat’ for something within us all that gives each being something we call ’life’.

The eye ability of which your niece has obtained is not only useful physically but also spiritually."

Nephilim looks over at his ’Queen’ with 100% interest in her words.

Nephilim: "I would agree with the first part but please explain, Queen MamMon."

MamMon DæMon (chuckles): "Gladly.

You see, like a car, plane, robotic android or any other ’machine’, the human body is nothing more that a protective case.

With her Examination-Eye, our mechanic here knows how to fix the physical, corporeal matter of the world to it’s designed purpose.

However..."

With her pointer and middle finger the DæMon lightly pokes her own forehead.

MamMon DæMon: "Our organic processors..."

She then pokes her own sternum.

MamMon DæMon: "...And our Spirit can only be fixed by the individual themselves."

The DæMon points back to her noggin while breaking down her ideology.

MamMon DæMon: "You see, our brains are the ’creators’, the ’Fathers’ if you will, of ideas, theories, ideology, and processing the information our outside sensors pick up.

Without this, we wouldn’t have any idea how to survive, or how to make survival more assured."

She then points back to her sternum once more.

MamMon DæMon: "But without our spirit, we wouldn’t have a reason to want to live, and usually..."

She finishes her connotation by poking both of her shoulders once.

MamMon DæMon: "... And it is usually the people right besides you who play a roll in the development and shaping of the mind and heart."

Nephilim can only sit there, stunned by the breakdown to one of the most prolific prayer motions of all time.

Nephilim(thinking): *This woman...is definitely dangerous.*
