Chapter 295: "A Mother Can’t Let Down Anyone Who Has Faith In Her."

"One who knows other people is wise. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

One who knows himself is enlightened.

To overcome others is strong.

To overcome oneself is will of power.

One who is contented is rich.

One who is determined has the strength of will.

Those who embrace their true nature shall long live.

He who is enlightened with the original nature, although dies physically, is eternally united with the everlasting Tao." -Tao Te Ching Chapter 33

Esau: "Hand the ball over and I won’t break both your hands, woman."

Stephanie protects the leather sphere, giving the man in front of her a lime green Below Sanpaku scowl and she grips the baseball tighter.

Stephanie: "I’m sorry, but I am a competitor too.

Everyone else has put faith in me to throw this ball through one of those windows.

So I’m not giving this ball up, you’ll have to take this it from my cold, dead h-"

With surprising speed, Esau suddenly appears behind her.

Esau: "If you insist."

His giant, strong hand goes to grip Stephanie’s small, frail right wrist but it whiffs through an afterimage.

The man’s left dark green eye and right IceEye widen, unaware of Stephanie’s ability to use such an advanced technique.

Esau: "What the-?"

The man looks around and sees a strain of the young woman’s brightly colored hair disappear behind a tree.

The top heavy, muscular man sighs and starts walking in the same direction with the wooden blade resting on his shoulder.

Esau: "Winning isn’t worth it that much.

I’m not even trying to kill her anyway..."

The man stops and turns his upper body to look back.

About 10 yards away, Garmr’s yellow eyes appear in the darkness.

Esau: "Stay there Buddy.

That witch promised me something if I cooperate with this little game of theirs."

The yellow eyes get lower as if the giant wolf was bowing and he disappears back into the shadows of the woods.

The heartbroken man turns back around, facing forward.

Esau: "I will see you again, Edom."

From the open field, Stephanie breaks through the forest’s tree line.

Breathing heavy, but still in a full sprint, she has the baseball in her run pumping right fist.

Across the 2 mi² open field, a row of apartment buildings is in her view.

Stephanie (thinking): *Ever since that day, I’ve felt... different.*

Esau, is in a calm walking stride. He too exits the forest. In her breakaway run, about 75 yards away, he spots the lime green girl he’s been told to hassle.

The young woman slightly stumbles but catches her balance and continues running towards the three story buildings on the edge of the open field.

Stephanie(thinking): *Ever since that day I found out both my mother and father died on a cruise vacation, along with Tristan’s parents, I’ve felt different.

At that moment in my young adult life, something clicked within my mind, and I was no longer a big sister, but I became the foster mother for my own quadruplet little sisters.*

In no sort of hurry, Esau puts his hands behind his head and looks at the late afternoon sky, SeiõrSnow falling all around him.

Esau(thinking): *Does that Völva and Valkyrie born witch actually know an advanced Seiõr technique that will be able to reunite me with my beloved Edom?

Because of the dangerous stigma that comes with using magic, my mother’s side of the family only used healing techniques passed down from their ancestors who lived in the’Holy Land’.

...

...

MamMon though, she’s proven to not only be a descendant of the strongest female warrior clan to ever be brushed away from the truths of recorded history, but she is definitely also has the blood from another forgotten clan. A clan who was known to be the most dedicated in the North to the practice and sharing of our universal energy.

I would hate to admit, the eugenics practiced by those now fictional covenants may have been on to something...

’...May have’.

If only the universe didn’t have to balance itself out, those DæMons may not have turned out as cynical and tyrannical as they have.*

Now only one mile away from the targets, Stephanie hasn’t slowed her pace.

Stephanie(thinking): *I’m thankful Ms. MamMon was able to reinforce my self-perception.

My initiative to be a mother figure, not only for my little sisters, but for anyone who needs that necessary crutch in life. It’s the reason I’ve received a higher blessing of acceptance from our universal energy.

A mother can’t let down anyone who has faith in her.

So I can’t let anyone down who has faith in me!*

With all the power she can conjure into her right arm, with a running start, the fallen athletic angel with a broken wing plants her left foot into the freshly trimmed grass with a force.

Her arm swings around once, and she releases a bullet of a power toss.

In the same way as Shelly’s SanguineSoulSeiõrShield allows the blonde fighter to travel at Mach Speeds, the baseball coated in Stephanie’s respective SoulSeiõr, travels out of her hand at a little over Mach 1 speed, breaking the sound barrier once it is released.

The pitcher winces in pain and grabs her pitching shoulder as she falls to her knees.

Stephanie: "I guess this is what they mean by, ’It’s in God’s hands now’..."

The soaring baseball, covered in her personal golden lime green shared magical energy, soars through the sky.

It is traveling with enough speed and at a perfect trajectory, heading directly for one of the 2nd floor, closed, glass windows to the middle most apartment building.

Esau walks up behind the injured lass, and she turns around, startled.

Stephanie: "Eep!"

He talks to her without looking at the hurting young woman.

Esau: "Don’t worry.

I was told to only be a ’Jungler’.

Sweeping the others on your team was easy, but because you yourself are so acknowledged by Seiõr, I couldn’t even touch you."

Stephanie is too timid to respond.

Esau: "Oh and by the way, that’s a pretty tough loss for you, ’competitor’.

Just remember, faith is a faceless facade..."

Stephanie quickly turns her head to look at the ball she sent sailing through the air towards the buildings.

Esau: "...And hope is only for helpless, hamstrung humans."

Stephanie: "That’s not true..."

The two of them watch as MamMon DæMon has leaped more than two stories high and catches the baseball just before it reaches the aimed for window.

Stephanie: "But...how...how did she?"

The incredibly athletic witch lands with a pirouette twirl and holds out the objective to the game in front of her as Stephanie’s SharedSanguineSoulSeiõrShield flickers then fades away from the red stitched ball.

MamMon DæMon: "And the home run is robbed!

That’s ’Game Over’!

Unfortunate Esau, General Nephilim, and I are the victors!"

MamMon DæMon(thinking) : *As if there were any doubt in the first place.*

Stephanie: "But... everyone...

They believed I could win..."

Esau turns around and starts to head back for the Seiõr grown shrubbery, but he stops for a moment.

Esau: "I got news for you, girlie.

In this life, everyone is just trying to discover new ways to mask our past disappointments and our own individual despair.

Life isn’t about finding happiness or a purpose.

It’s about suffering, then finding ways to keep our minds occupied to cope with what can’t be undone."

He takes one step forward but...

Stephanie: "No.

You’re wrong..."

The man with shoulder length black hair and red ends, stops on his tracks, but he doesn’t turn around to face her.

Keeping his back to Steph, the very dangerous man, who has been labeled as the unchosen Yin Vessel gives the Sanguine Savior a chance to rebutt his nihilistic statement.

Stephanie: "Life, especially human life, is all about helping the immediate living beings around you, and having those same individuals besides you when hard times and tough challenges fall upon yourself.

Yeah, terrible events happen in every type of life. Human or not.

There’s deaths that are more gruesome and merciless than others, while some deaths are easily avoidable in retrospect.

Other times, the life is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time."

With his back turned to her, Esau gets ticked off. Thinking she is referencing the loss of his wife, not her trying to relate with the unfortunate event of her parents losing their lives while on vacation.

Stephanie: "The terrible might be inevitable, but in the same way that it’s impossible for a person to go through their life without making a mistake or without sinning, it’s also impossible to avoid those mistakes or sins..."

Esau looks at his silver wedding banner around his right hand’s ring finger.

Stephanie: "...All we can do is keep our heads up high and fight through each tough time, together.

We’re all in the same boat now Mr. Esau. If our ship sinks, we all sink.

Teehaha!"

With the same surprised reaction to her distinct laugh, Esau spins around.

Esau: "Wait...you sound...just like-"

Isfet: "Esauuu!"

The brother in law gets double caught off guard from the sounds of his lost sister in law.

Esau: "Izzy?"
