SEXY MECH SYSTEM-Chapter 49: New Life
You were not thinking it was over, right?
Good. He had one more leveling to do, and this time, it was a skill.

He had only three skills he could upgrade, and only one Skill Upgrade in his inventory.
Which skill will take it home?
"Raja, what if I upgrade one of those that already has progress or EXP? Will I lose the EXP present?"
"No, dummy. Your EXP would be saved."
After clearing that, he was left to make choices.
The first on the list was his Mechabeetle. Surely, those tiny insects looked promising, but he was still faced with the same issue.
Too much mana consumption.
Maybe he’d get something better from the upgrade, but he would still face the underlying issue.
The Silver Tongue would have been a nice one to upgrade, but Syril dismissed the thought immediately.
’Knowledge is power,’ he thought.
It was very easy for him to go with the Scan skill. The skill did save him in the previous side quest. If he gets in a dire situation, the right knowledge could save him.
So, he went for that easily.
[This process is irreversible. Are you sure you want to upgrade the Scan (Lv.1) to Scan (Lv.2)?]
*Yes.*
[ 1 Skill Upgrade successfully used on Scan (Lv.1).]
[Scan (Lv.1) → Scan (Lv.2).]
[Upgrade details: One new additional info added when skill is used.]
’Cool. What would that be?’ Syril asked himself before navigating back to the skills tab.
[SKILLS]
[Special Skills: ]
[1. Scan (Lv.2): EXP 70/1000 to level up.]
"What the..." The words already slipped before he could stop himself.
Adam stirred beside him, mumbling some words before becoming quiet and conceding to slumber again.
’1000 to level up?! Why?!’
No response. Raja was back on his silent treatment.
’Right,’ Syril snorted mentally.
He checked all he needed to check before closing the system, heaving a sigh and staring long, bracing for the future.
And just like that, like he had truly earned it, his eyes shut slowly and the world around him became black.
He fell asleep.
∆∆∆∆
*Honk!* *Honk!* *Honk!*
A blaring sound tore through the air, almost deafening.
"Ughh... Finally... Truck Kun! The omnipotent truck... I’m finally gonna leave this hell for a real adventure in a right world." Someone mumbled beside Syril.
Syril was already jolted awake by the train honk, he was one of the few who had heard Adam’s mumbling and laughed.
"Psst! Hey, guy! Man, wake up..." Syril gently nudged Adam in his side, shaking the boy until the boy woke up. "We’re here."
"Huh?!" Adam suddenly shouted, shooting up from his seat. "We’re here?! Another world?!"
Syril speedily pulled on the small figure, dragging him down to crash on his seat.
"Man, don’t make a mess of yaself. We’re at Riverdale." Syril whispered lowly, but the amusement never left his eyes.
"Oh, right," Adam slapped his forehead dramatically.
"None of my wishes ever come true," he furtherly muttered and rose to his feet.
"Adam is the name by the way. I know you’re not gonna say yours. It’s fine."
"Syril," Syril heartily replied, smiling before standing from his own seat. "I’m Syril."
Adam turned, checking if someone like Brandon or other people had heard or were listening.
When he found none, he squinted his eyes and moved on.
Syril too followed behind,
Others were already standing and moving too. Those who had acquainted themselves or knew each other were chatting, already picturing what Greenville would look like.
They slowly moved to the wagon where luggage was, and when they were done collecting, they began their journey out of the train station, began their journey to Greenville.
"Where to now?" Adam suddenly asked Syril who was still beside him.
"Are you serious?" Syril almost laughed. "Greenville, of course. Where else?"
"Yeah... Just needed to be sure." Adam responded hastily, mentally slapping himself for asking such stupid question.
He failed to note that even his recent response was much more stupid, and Syril couldn’t help but chuckle.
"So... Why did you decide to tell me your name instead of that jerk face Brandon?" Adam suddenly asked.
"You think he’s a jerk?" Syril’s expression became unreadable, staring long as if he was thinking about something else.
"I mean... He’s definitely not the nicest. I know he’s only looking for powerful ones to team with," Adam whispered closely, looking through the crowd if the said person was close. "Cliché, isn’t it?"
’Ah, this one sees beyond the facade too.’ Syril noted somewhat happily.
"Hmmm. I think I have to agree on that. I didn’t have time for games like that, so I had to ignore it."
"I see." Adam nodded.
"But you..." Syril started laughing. "What’s with those mumbo jumbos about Truck Kun?"
Adam became flustered, cheeks colored red as he turned his gaze away.
He sighed before saying: "I don’t know if I should be saying this... My life isn’t exactly on track. I have a small frame, my ability is... nothing to write home about. Sometimes I wish..."
Syril patted his back knowingly. It was a strange feeling, he didn’t know when his hands reached for the small teen, stopping the boy before he could say more. Perhaps the ’been there’ feeling?
"I understand." Syril grabbed Adam’s small shoulder.
They were out of the station now, their luggage bags making that familiar draggy sound as they pulled ’em.
"You do?" Adam snorted. "With this physique, good looks, and probably an outstanding ability? Who are you kidding?"
The two were standing on a walkway.
Riverdale was so much different from Almandale. Yes, there were skyscrapers, towering buildings, neon glows, and all to describe a futuristic, urban city, but the landscape or layout was much more different.
Where buildings in Almandale were closely built, Riverdale’s were spaced out, the city maintaining its reputation for being one of the largest cities.
Plus, the air quality was much better than Almandale’s. The natural scent of flowers, plants, and trees, the satisfying insect and bird chirps, the gentle, almost imperceptible hum of the river flowing nearby, all of those symphonized to create a relaxing and much more scenic view.
You couldn’t even see any industrial buildings or factories. There were spaces designated for all of those, far from the residential area.
And all of those combined made Riverdale stand out.
Female passersby occasionally stopped, young ones mostly, stared at Syril with reddened cheeks and giggled before turning away and moving on.
’My Charm... It’s having a stronger effect now,’ Syril noted with satisfaction.
"You see? No one even noticed me standing beside you." Adam lamented almost frustratingly.
Syril smiled nervously. "I’m heading to Greenville. That’s the bus."
Adam scurried behind him, following closely to the bus-stop.
"You weren’t planning to leave me behind, Lord Syril, right?"
They chuckled and boarded the available one together.
It just might be, might be that Syril will finally have a friend.

The journey to Greenville was rather smooth and fast.
Before they knew it, they alighted and were standing before the gigantic Greenville’s gate.
Not much could be seen beyond the massive, almost skyscraper-like gate and the fences that equaled the gate’s height.
The walls and the green gate were so high that it even hurt to look at the defense’s top.
"What... the... hell?" Adam marveled at the sight. "Why is it this big?!"
"Well, we do have sons and daughters of powerful figures here, hence the reason for such security," Syril stated.
"Still..." Adam rolled his eyes and glanced at the passages that granted entry and exit.
But he was confused when he found many outlets in the gargantuan metal.
One was obviously designed for cars, as they watched spoilt kids enter with luxurious rides.
"That’s ours. We’re first timers, so we have to pass through there," Syril pointed after noticing the small digital screen fixated above the passage.
’How could he see such a tiny thing?’
They soon dragged their luggages through the passage after necessary inspection and digital scanning, and were brought into the college’s premises.
Stepping past the main gate, the scale of the campus was almost overwhelming. To the left and right, rows of tall trees created a natural wall that opened up into a vast central lawn. The greenery stretched out for what felt like miles, a perfectly leveled carpet of grass that dominated the entire view.
Multiple academic buildings rose up in every direction. Some were tucked behind deep groves of oaks, their roofs barely visible through the thick canopy, while others stood out in the open, massive structures of stone and glass that seemed to anchor the horizon.
The stretched, tiled road paved way for vehicular movements, and the floors simply kissed with grasses served as walking grounds for all.
The sheer variety of the buildings made the college look like its own self-contained city.
It was clear from the immense distance between the buildings that getting from one side of the college to the other would be a serious walk, yet students were bubbling in every corner.
"This is beautiful!" Adam was the first to speak.
Syril smiled as he drank the spectacle, noting powerful figures doing their things and varieties of abilities manifested.
"This is my new life."
